It was my first time boarding my new pup, but the process with ruffledale was pretty great. We had to drop him off for a free two hour behavior assessment before he could be boarded. They were also very strict with all vaccinations. I forgot to send my husband with some of the copies and we had to quickly get them emailed over before they would let him enter - which is great! My dog passed his assessment and stayed here for seven days over Thanksgiving. The price was fair and when we picked him they gave us a little treat bag and report card. My dog seemed to love it and he was always chilling in the middle of the pack when they would post anything on Instagram. Downfalls: despite strict vaccination requirements my dog still got kennel cough. He recovered quickly and it wasn't anything severe, but still a bummer. He also had one or two scratches on him. I'd imagine he was playing rough and it wasnt anything serious since his report card was all positive, but it's still something I'll watch out for if he goes back. read more

Upon arrival, we had a very positive experience. The facility was very clean and the front staff, along with Amber, was very attentive. The technician was kind to our pet, but I was surprised that no one initially checked our pet's temperature or assessed his condition based on his symptoms; we had to remind the staff to do so before we left. Dr. C made a poor initial impression with his curt demeanor. He seemed short and almost dismissive of our pet's situation. For instance, he did not introduce himself when he came in and after a brief greeting, he pointed to the table for our dog and began his assessment without allowing us to provide input. He was halfway out the door before he finally asked if we had any questions. However, It came off as more of a formality versus actually caring if we had any questions and addressing them. The initial interaction, lasting less than two minutes, felt rushed and impersonal, reflecting poor bedside manner. However, Dr. C significantly redeemed himself when he returned with the medications and was very polite and more attentive. Additionally, a gentleman named Alex was extremely kind and helpful, answering many of my questions and putting my mind at ease in the reception lobby. Overall, our experience mostly positive and if I had to point out any areas of improvement , it would be the overall bedside manners that the doctor provided with patients. This place was recommended by a co worker. She is very particular like I am with my dog. I was very nervous to leave my baby. She had a great time and was socializing with both small and large breeds. The staff is amazing and trustworthy. I'm new to the area and my anxiety ridden pup needed some grooming. They took all my information and verified vaccinations which I thought was kind of nice. Most ask for vaccines but then never verify anything. I let them know I'd be staying in the area in case my little man was not able to be groomed. He hates water, the blow dryer and is skittish around strangers. He was abused indoors before he was rescued so he's not a fan of new places either. They told me it would take 2-3 hours even though he didn't need to get trimmed at all. I walked out thinking this is never going to work. When no call came within 5 minutes I was a little surprised. Then the phone rings 40 minutes later....I thought.... there it is, he's not going to make it through. It's only been 40 minutes and not even close to the 2-3 hour eta. To my surprise, they told me he's ready for pickup and he did great. I was truly shocked. Shelly did a phenomenal job. My only negative is that they opened the little gate to the back room before having the leash on my dog. There were other dogs in the waiting room which was not a big deal but had someone opened the front door or had been walking in, my dog would have darted out immediately and would have likely run right out into the street. That didn't happen thankfully but it crossed my mind when I had to grab him by the bandana they put around his neck. I'm grateful that was on him. I will return and will request Shelly ever time. I'm glad I found this place and appreciate all the attention they gave my pup. read more

If you love your dog at all. Don't bring them here. We dropped ours off for a 1 night stay. He was sick for over a week. The vet visit cost more than the stay. Didn't eat, barley ate anything for almost a week. They say they have a sign up warning about multiple illnesses. But we were in the lobby for about 30 minutes and saw nothing. We realized something was off when we picked him up. But they said nothing. No warning, no call, nothing. He also has scratches and bloody spots all over his head. read more

This is the only Utah kennel we will ever use again!! If there were 10 starts to give I would light them all up!! Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Ruffledale. We are a military family with a new assignment to Hill AFB. I found Ruffledale on google and took a chance on them because pet TLF wasn't available. We wanted our dog comfortable and out of a crate while the movers unloaded our household goods. They were accommodating, affordable and easy to schedule. But here's where they went above and beyond. Shortly after arriving for his stay, our Maxwell became ill. The staff recognized it right away and sprung into action! It turns out he had several jagged bladder stones causing bleeding and inflammation. Emily and Abby at Ruffledale were in constant communication with me (it was unloading day and I couldn't get away) They arranged vet visits, transported him for treatment and waited while they determined the diagnosis. We worked together with the vet at Bayview Animal Hospital in Farmington (see my Outstanding review for them separately) and he was treated with surgery right away. I'm happy to report he is at home healing and resting comfortably. Our family is officially a Ruffledale family for as long as we are at Hill AFB. They treated our Maxwell like family and I cannot thank them enough. read more

It's not the largest building but the pictures online look bigger than what little we saw so maybe it's bigger on the inside like the Tardis? I can't tell, but it looks big from the picture gallery. I love the couches in the front when you first enter, on two different walls both facing windows were adorable. We took our little guy here today for a test (2 hours) and while he was terrified at first (to be fair, he is afraid of the world and everything in it), when we came back to pick him up, we found him sitting on the couch facing the parking lot. I tried to take a picture of him, but as soon as he recognized us, he bolted to the gate to see us so alas, these are other peoples' dogs that are in the picture. Overall, decent place, but couple things bring it down half a star but I rounded up for the review as it doesn't seem fair to round down): 1) no camera to stalk...I mean watch our pup :( 2) the inside and outside areas seem to not be "connected" as in the dogs would have to be let out and let back in and don't have the ability to go back and forth at their leisure...but this one I'm not positive about as I can't tell from the pictures and there's no camera to stalk them but that's what it seems from what I see online. But these things aren't a deal breaker, just nice to have. It's not the Cadillac of doggie day cares, but it is a solid place and I do love the setup with the couches, it looks clean and the dogs seem happy. Overall, great place to take your pup! read more

I will never take my dog to Ruffledales to be groomed again. I picked up my dog and was told that if I were to bring him back he needed to be drugged so they could groom him. The previous times I had taken him, he was cut and was out of it as if he had been drugged. Since I have been going to a new groomer, I have not once been told that my dog needs to be drugged or that he is out of control. They turned me away and said since I was late they couldn't take him. I'm sure it's great from the reviews but beware of the horrible service at the start. Dedicated pet parents - think twice before bringing your pet to Ruffledale. First -- I'm no stranger to dog daycare. Before relocating for work, we lived in an area that had many options of dog daytime boarding facilities, and I feel like I'm generally pretty understanding about learning the ways each one does business and its pros + cons. Second -- I'm so particular about the people I trust with my dog that I was willing to spend over an hour roundtrip commuting so that he could be cared for here. I've taken my dog here on multiple occasions because there aren't a ton of dog daycare facilities in this area (I don't want to pay $40 to have my dog kenneled all day). At this daycare, the dogs do get to interact with each other which is great. That may be where the "pros" to Ruffledale end. On one occasion, I was stuck behind an overturned semi on a Saturday, coming back to pick up my dog. I called close to 30 minutes prior to closing, letting them know I was doing my best and would be there as soon as possible, but that I was running between 15-20 minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control. The staff then told me that if I wasn't there between 15 minutes of closing that they would be boarding my dog and I could pick him up Monday. Again, this was a SATURDAY. This meant that without any of my dog's prepared prescription food, he was going to be held involuntarily until Monday morning. As a dog owner and as a small business owner, this policy is totally beyond my understanding. Had I not called to check in, or not called at all, or even called to say I would be multiple hours late -- then yes, I'd understand. I would entirely understand and support implementing a late fee within reason (as is the policy of every other dog daycare I know of). I respect the time of the business owner and employees and fully believe they should be compensated for their time caring for my dog, especially if that goes beyond the time they've set their rates for. BUT on occasion, things come up and people run late. Hearing that my dog, who is more family than pet, was going to be held away from me for over 24 hours without my consent? I was in literal shock. Still thinking of it, I'm in disbelief. I can't imagine him being kenneled out of the blue, and how terrified he would be, not knowing what was going on, or why I didn't come to pick him up like I always have. Whereas in our previous dog daycares, my dog was a regular 1-2x week for socialization, he now goes to Ruffleedale only when I cannot find ANY other possible option and absolutely need him to be cared for longer than a period I'd feel comfortable leaving him home alone (which is usually less than once a month.) If you (like me) are human, and happen to occasionally have circumstances that happen outside of your control, like being caught behind an overturned semi, and could potentially be more than a few seconds late for pick-up... be really careful bringing your pet here. 15 minutes late, with notice, may just mean you won't see them for literal days. read more

We take our baby to Ruffledale at least twice per week. We use their grooming and boarding services when needed. They are a top notch facility all the way around. Our German Shepherd gets so sad if we skip a few days. They treat him like family and he is always excited to go to Ruffledale. read more

It was our first time getting our puppy groomed. The person at front desk was very rude when we didn't have our puppies vaccination records-- we didn't know this was required, we are first time dog owners-- they asked us to go get the vaccination records, when we came back she had said that we were too late and our dogs appointment had been cancelled. Made us go all the way home and back for nothing, she could have told us to simply reschedule the first time. Poor customer service. The girl at the dog boarding building was much nicer and much more knowledgeable. read more

Pros : We just moved from Califormia and have never had a dog before. It took a lot for us to trust someone to take care of him. From day one the staff was super friendly , accommodating and the owner was super personable and helped me get my dog in the car because I had shoulder surgery. Grooming is great, they drumel (sp) the nails upon request for no extra charge. If you get them groomed and want them in daycare too... it's only 15.00 extra for the whole day for daycare and you can bring them in early morning till close. The employees greeted my dog by name every time we did grooming or daycare. They have a military discount off full price day care. Our dog gets so excited when we drive up to the parking lot. Cons: the last two times we've picked our dog up he's had nicks on his face, with a little blood, that look like he was playing rough possibly with another dog. The staff was very kind about my concern and said puppy play can sometimes get rough and today when I picked him up they put some Neosporin on it. Co. Suggestion : I'd like to see that reported on the report card to show that the staff was aware that it happened and that he was being watched. I know the owner will help me if I'd like to keep my dog separated out for play (per staff). The facility isn't super big but most all the dogs seem to get a long and when you drop off .. all the dogs are laying on couches or walking around together. read more

My dog loves going to Ruffledale! We boarded him there multiple times and then have taken him back to play for the day. He is so excited when we go and is completely worn out when I pick him up! We had our two small dogs stay here for 5 days. I appreciated that the staff were happy to have my husband and I tour it before we brought the dogs to stay. All the dogs were happy and playing. They have a room for big dogs and a room for small dogs.We got our dogs the larger room to sleep in for them to share. We have never boarded them before and the staff was so sweet when we called to check on them. When we picked them up we were given a cute report card, explaining how they did each day of their stay and a bag of goodies. My only complaint is that they had a pretty bad urine smell when we picked them up, but that was quickly remedied with a bath! read more

Ruffledale is one of the best dog groomers! The front desk acknowledges me when I arrive. They are efficient and follow routine procedures to check my dog in. The groomer comes out and greets my dog and asks for my input on the type of cut. They really do love the animal customers! This place is horrible. I would not take my pet there if he was dying. The help is horrendous. They scheduled appointments and then tell me that I need some paper that I don't need and then they send an email for my appointment and I show up and they tell me I missed my appointment. I recently got a golden doodle that has high maintenance fur. I'm new to all of this and wasn't sure of his needs. Ruffledale has been amazing! They've groomed him several times now and I used their boarding services for a week while I was out of town. My sweet boy was so well taken care of! Today I took my 11 yr old husky in for a temperament test. I was so worried and nervous. My dog has only been in our home or overnight with family so I was nervous. I spoke with two women and both eased my nervousness and showed me around the facility. I was very comfortable leaving her for the tempranment test. She does very good with other dogs her size. I told them I wanted her to stay for the day if she did well. I didn't hear from them after the 2 hr test so I just waited. After 4 hrs I called to check on her and the staff had glowing things to say. When I got Yasha home she was so tired she went to sleep right away. I loved how friendly the staff were. They were very knowledgeable and friendly. Yasha loved being there. I will definitely use them again for both day care and boarding. read more

I just moved from out of state and two things on my list were find a great groomer and a vet. I came across a grooming place, called in but the guy who answered didn't sound so happy to be there. So I decided to keep looking and I came across this place. When I called in, there was already a difference. Taylor answered and she was sweet and pleasant. So I booked my appt. The day came (today), when you first enter you are greeted by two friendly, beautiful cats. The girls in the front helped me right away and went over everything with me since it was my first time. The girls are amazing, very sweet, attentive & you can feel their passion for animals. I absolutely love the grooming report they give you. My groomer Shaelee did an amazing job. This is hard because the staff is super friendly and my dog gets so excited to come here, which tells me he loves it. The only problem I have is that we have taken him here three times for overnight boarding in the last 3 months, and every time we drop him off healthy and when we pick him up he has kennel cough or some kind of sickness to where he is under the weather for a few days. Today when we picked him up he was making that loud kennel cough sound before they handed him to us. They didn't say anything about it and surely they had to have noticed it. It sounds like when kids have croup. He was there for 3 nights and for no one to call us or make note of it on his report or make any mention of it at all is a little concerning. We drop him off healthy and he comes home very ill every time. Right now he is choking and hacking and having a really rough time. Kennel cough is caused by overcrowded conditions with poor ventilation. We saw a sign on the door mentioning something about kennel cough when we dropped him off. Must be a common problem there. I feel bad saying this but I think next time we will have a neighbor watch him. read more

When I took our maltipoo to be groomed I showed the groomer a picture of him the last time I had him groomed so they would know how long to leave his fur. When I picked him up he looked like he had been scalped. I should have refused to pay full price for it but I was so stunned that I went ahead and payed. When I arrived, the receptionist immediately went to the back to talk to the groomer. I didn't know why she did this - just assumed she was letting her know I was there. I had another dog in the car that kept making my alarm go off, so I was flustered trying to figure that out when she came out and told me that they had a strict 15-minute late policy and would have to reschedule the appointment. I looked at the clock on the wall and it said 12:18 PM. I looked at my phone and it said that it was now 12:16 PM after she had already gone to the back to talk with the groomer. Phone time is more accurate than wall clock time. I was shocked. Not only was I unaware of the policy altogether, but I had actually arrived within the 15-minute window. It was only after talking with the groomer did it go 1 minute beyond. They need to make that policy very clear when making the appointment or by writing it down somewhere, if they are going to enforce it down to the second. And they should at the very least go off of an accurate wall clock. I realize that I was late, but sometimes things unexpectedly happen. They've now lost a customer and I will not recommend this place to anyone because of it. read more

Took my dogs up for a haircut. Weird set up. My major complaint, though, is that my $40 groom (for 3 dogs) wasn't enough for them to be taken to daycare. They charged an additional $15 per dog for daycare. Why would I take my dog to a daycare to be groomed if they are going to lock them in a cage? I can go to a groomer closer to home who will lock them in a cage. Only worried about the bottom line. Not worth your business. read more

As far as the facility it is top notch. Our dogs love it!!! But we were not too happy on this last visit. We were never given information on overage fees if our dogs were there past 1pm. They stayed overnight 2 nights, then we were charged 15.00 extra per dog for being there after 1pm. Staff needs to be better at explaining this to customers. An extra 30.00 on an already 144.00 bill seems excessive. read more

Ruffledales owner and staff treated our Millie like family. She loved them and enjoyed her time in daycare playing with her buddies and loved to give the ladies there hugs. Took my pup here for the first time last weekend. He is 7 but very high energy and isn't the best on social cues sometimes. He wants to constantly play and when other pups are done he doesn't quite pick up on that. Needless to say, we told them of his energy and that some dogs just flat don't like him. They said they try and correct that issue which I really appreciated. Other places just keep him locked up all day instead of trying to help him. He also is a houdini dog and escapes crates and kennels. He once pushed through a chain link fence kennel and escaped at one boarding facility so I especially liked that he could be placed in a room with a regular door to avoid his escape artist tendancies. When we picked him up after two days he was exhausted from all the play. He had no issues and they said he was a great dog for them. They also were fabulous with dealing with his diet. I cook his food, since they can't prepare stuff I just did a sort of meal prep and they had no issues with this. I felt very comfortable leaving him there and definitely will take him back. They were very courteous and professional when I called and really anytime I had to contact them. I will highly recommend them! It did kind of suck they don't do Sunday pick ups during the summer but I understand that Sunday is probably a very high volume pick up day but I really missed my pup when we were back home on Sunday afternoon! They also have the option to do grooming before pick up so not only did he come back home happy and exhausted but smelling good and perfectly pampered. read more

I called last minute for an appointment with my dog who "expressed" himself all over my blanket. Rooster needed his glands purged and possibly exorcised. They were so affordable I decided to have him in for a full grooming, this was all last minute and they were friendly enough to accommodate us. A few friendly cats, a dog, and a bird greeted us and he was in heaven. The front desk reviewed all my areas of focus and made sure my concerns were addressed. Rooster was done faster than I expected and he was groomed and preened like a day at the spa. I feel so comfortable with their groomers because they have experience and virtually no turnover rate unlike chain store grooming centers. As if he wasn't cute enough before, now he is so handsome! This place is highly recommended!!! read more
