We visited this restaurant during a trip to Peoria and it is so cute. French country- esque blended with the Midwest style. I ordered a latte and I would recommend it but it is on the smaller side. I highly enjoyed my breakfast called the "Irish Benedict" which are eggs with corned beef instead of ham. read more

First time at the little breakfast cafe. Ordered the egg white Western omelet with potatoes. Lots of seating, fast service, & good food. The potatoes were not my favorite. Although they had a lot of flavor, they were a tad dry so I did not eat them all. The omelet was tasty. This place has a country "mom & pop" feel to it. Lots of things to choose from on the menu. Atrocious experience today at Le Peep in Peoria. I've eaten there a couple of times before and always had excellent food and friendly service. There's usually a wait for a table, but customers are moved in and out efficiently. Went in today for lunch at 1:00 p.m. Gave the hostess my name. There were four two-tops ahead of us. We sat down to wait. As we sat, we noticed that something was off. The two 16-year-olds stationed at the front desk gazed into space while around them nearly a dozen tables sat waiting to be bussed. A couple of sections of the restaurant were clearly closed -- I only saw two servers. An older man popped out of the back once and bussed a table. He seated two 2-tops. And still we waited. No one was bussing the tables. No one was doing much of anything except for the two servers trying to wait on the half of the restaurant that was seated. After a good 20 minute wait, I went up to the front desk to ask for an update. Now I don't know if the two girls at the front desk (are they hostesses? I have no idea. They didn't seat anyone, the older man did) are the daughters of the owners or what the story is, but they definitely have never been trained in customer service. The one who spoke to me, Shannon, smirked as I asked what was happening. Her eyes rolled so hard I'm surprised they didn't pop right out of her head. They clearly had no intention of clearing a table to seat anyone nor did they care one bit that people were waiting. We packed up and left. Terrible. read more

Awesome breakfast place. I had the Belgian waffle with a side of the potatoes. The waffle was tasty, the coffee was good and served from my own personal pot. The potatoes were a little soft for my liking but had good flavor and weren't undercooked. I'd return if I was in the area. Dining area was clean and bright. My husband and I went here for breakfast for the first time a week ago, even though we've lived in Peoria our whole lives. We got married on Saturday, and met some out-of-town friends there before they hit the road back home on Monday. I had the Belgian waffle, and others got pancakes and eggs Benedict. We entered the restaurant and the Host did not greet us and appeared to be put out when we asked for a table. The waitress was nice and friendly, but complained that another waitress quite that morning. Once we received our food, it was cold, which normally it's never really been hot, but that it was cold. Informed our waitress that it was cold and to take it away and that I was not interested in getting anything else and to remove it from out bill. She stated that she would discuss with her manager/ owner. The owner never came to table to apologize or offer any remorse. My wife went to pay him personally for the bill and he did not apologize. On our way out I attempted to talk with the owner and he would stop to discuss the our experience, nor would he look me in the face to even apologize. I informed him of our experience with the host and his lack of concern with our experience. He again failed to apologize or show any remorse. I informed him that I would tell everyone that would listen about our service and that we will never return. This owner and businesses like his take customers for granted. I approached him professionally and he showed no concern. Serving food cold and raw is not healthy and the health department needs to do drop in health inspections. Stay away from this location, owner takes his customers for granted. read more

This was our first visit. The restaurant itself is very pretty, clean and comfortable. However, the food was pretty bad. Our pancakes arrived all torn and looked like someone had dropped them. The eggs were not cooked as we ordered them. The potatoes were served just lukewarm. The turkey sausage so spicy it was difficult to eat. When we paid our bill, the cashier asked us how things were. This was my fourth visit to this restaurant. I ordered the same thing as I did the first time. Today they did not make it the way they did the first time so I asked if they could please do the bread the way they did the first time. The man who I found out was the owner/manager was not liking that request and he was the rudest most angry person I have ever met who managed a business. I will never go back there ever again! I was never treated so rudely for such a minor request in my life! He went on a rant and he actually looked crazy in the eyes. When I told him the waitress last time was so nice and she mixed me up mayo and ketchup as a side sauce to dip my sandwich in he freaked out and said that if he would've seen her do that for me that she would be fired! Most managers would have smiled and said, 'I'm glad you had a good experience. That was really nice of her to go the extra mile.' Instead, he wants to fire her!?!?! I went in with my family for some brunch. I was relatively busy, and we sat in the nicely decorated "party room" as my mom called it. The staff members were very kind and sweet, obviously been working there for a while. The place has a very homey vibe and delicious breakfast food. I had the French Toast with apples, absolutely phenomenal. My only issue is the service speed. It was about 10 minutes before we were actually waited on to get drinks and food. Then another 30-40 minutes for food, my dad's food coming far later than everyone else's. Two tables left before we did, both having issues with the check. During this Holiday season we wanted to express to our families living away from us a little cheer. We were unable to do this due to the owner/management of your La Peep's restaurant in Peoria, Illinois I purchased a gift certificate for a family member who lives close to the La Peeps, 7501 N University St, Peoria, IL 61614. I did not believe that we needed to ask or make it clear that I was purchasing a gift card for a disabled person, or that they would be accepted as patrons. I do not want to go into detail on their needs, but there disability requires a service animal, which has an ESA certified from an Illinois approved therapist. This experience did not help with her disability and the public humiliation has caused a setback we are dealing with. This also brings up the question of the treatment of our military veterans with disables, is this happening under your franchise name? The Owner/Manager Dan, (refused to give his last name), was very disrespectful, rude, nasty and loud to which other customer within the restaurant became aware of the issue. The owner kept insisting that he would not except or honor certificates from a Colorado, La Peep's. We called while our family members where at the restaurant trying to resolve the issue. We explained that we lived in Florida and had purchased the gift certificate over the phone and it was in the hostess station. The certificate was found and the owner refused them again, because of the service animal even with the ESA approved certificate presented to him. Later that day we called and request a refund for the gift certificate, which the owner did, but his attitude was noticeable. I believe this issue needed to be brought to your attention, and we will not be recommending or visiting your restaurant from this point forward. read more

Our large group was seated at two separate tables, so we pushed them together. The manager came over and was absolutely outraged that we were "taking up too much space" even though no one else was seated in our section. He proceeded to scold us for moving the tables together to the point where he became heated. We had no choice but to get up and leave. I've never seen such horrible treatment at any restaurant. YESSSSSSS! I plan on trying everything on this menu! So far I have had all the eggs benedict dishes...eggs were perfeclty poached and the hollondais sauce on top was delicious! It came with these spiced apples which I didn't care for. The smoothies are made to order and are so fresh and tasty. Service is great, they are quick, responsive and don't make you feel rushed. Although I was impressed with the cute and fresh decor the food did not impress me. We went on a Sunday morning and we were seated right away. The server was attentive and pleasant. I ordered a skillet but wasn't happy with it. The food came to our table faster than fast food. The eggs were not cold but also not warm. Somewhere in between. Some of the peasant potatoes were old and hard as if the food had been prepared ahead of time and perhaps but together and microwaved. I dislike m/w cooked/warmed food and I can tell the difference. The layers if the skillet were layered and then perhaps popped into the m/w to melt cheese. I would guess (being a chef ) that the pre-made scrambled eggs were topped after the cheese was melted. This is my go to breakfast spot on Sunday after church. I like the country decor, and live my usual Spinnaker. Might be spelling it wrong. The pancakes are fantastic too - light and fluffy! I've been going here for over 15 years, now I'll never go back. Potatoes came out cold and undercooked and had to send them back. The kitchen microwaved the plate when they said they would get a new plate of potatoes and eggs. This made the eggs rubbery, when I inquired the waitress stated that they microwaved it. Upon paying I spoke with the owner and shared my displeasure, he was rude and told me that his cook had been there for years and they never microwave anything and always serve new. As the owner angrily rushed off to the kitchen, I waited to hear the conversation. Sure enough they admitted to using the microwave, the owner reappeared and ducked down the hall as soon as he saw me still standing there. Really *wonderful* Eggs Benedict! Good service! Cute decor! BUT the coffee was a huge disappointment. And, unfortunately, this is still rather common in Midwestern eateries. My breakfast coffee was a sad weak and washed out brew and the fact that they provided so much of it (they put a carafe on the table) meant nothing! Would recommend offering a light (Starbucks calls theirs "Blonde") roast and a hearty roast (but not espresso). With those choices, wow! this would be THE BEST. read more

I was not impressed with the food in 2006, disliked the food in 2011, and well I figured let's give it another shot. Service was friendly and fast, but was a little sketchy. My friend was bothered by the fact that our waitress was so frazzled and shaky. I liked her and thought she was fun. We started with a Smash Smoothie and a Cinnamon Roll Latte. Both were filled to the brim to the point they were overflowing as we moved them to drink them. I enjoyed the smoothie although it was nothing special. My friend did not like the cinnamon roll latte. He said it tasted like a plain latte and the only good part was the whipped cream top. Next, we tried all three soups they had this morning. Note: The soups are made fresh daily so they charge an additional 50 cents if you pick a cup of soup that is not their daily soup. Our waitress forgot to tell us this. My friend thought the chili was okay but not good enough to finish. I loved their Tuscani Beans and Sausage soup. It was so flavorful. I hate beans and sometimes, the soups with beans have an overwhelming amount of plain beans inside them. Not this one. It had a great combination of broth, beans, and sausage. And the French Onion soup was exquisite. Actually, it was my first time trying French Onion soup even though I have always loved onions. It is topped with a nice bread that soaked up the soup flavors and underneath were piles of onions and a delicious soup. Le Peep deserves 4 stars for the soup alone. Alas, we ordered more: 2 cajun chickens, chicken crepes benedict, and red, white, and blue pancakes. The cajun chickens were packed with flavor and great spices. I was not a fan of the amount of chicken or the Milano roll they used because it was a tad bit too crispy and a little dry. The red, white, and blue pancakes were okay and the chicken crepe benedict was just okay. It was filled with broccoli. Overall, Le Peep was better than I remembered and it is okay for breakfast if you are in the area. read more

You know what you have to do? You HAVE to go to this restaurant and order the Gooey buns as a STARTER. A breakfast appetizer? Sure, why not. YUM! So delicious! It's an english muffin that they put this gooey, sugary deliciousness on and then....wait...sorry, I lost myself for a moment there! ;) So after ordering these, I also had the veggie omelet w/ egg whites. The waitress never can and checked on us took forever to get our food then when it came out mine was not very hot and had to go up to the front to get someone and the I spoke with the manager and argued with me that it should be hot we are not busy. I said well it's not very warm and he was snarky and said what you want it to be 180 degrees fine I'll go warm it up and all he did was go microwave it. I LOVE Le Peep! It's my favorite breakfast place in town. Cheery yellow walls, lovely staff, and yummy food! I always get their unlimited flavored coffee and the light turkey broccoli omelet. I always leave satisfied! This place is really busy on the weekends (you will almost always have to wait) and only open until 2pm. I constantly return here and bring my friends. The portions are substantial - I can get a 1/2 sandwich & cup of soup and not be hungry for several hours. The service is excellent, with competent waitresses who get your order right. The hostess, Jody, Actively helps out with refilling drinks and makes you feel welcome. The restaurant is open for breakfast & lunch only, and it's always busy, with lots of regular customers. My personal menu favorites are the classic BLT and the Italian Wedding Soup when it's available - delicious! For breakfast, the "Lumberjack" or the "Eighteen-Wheeler" is reasonably priced and gives you some of everything - a big meal for those who like big breakfasts.
