Excellent Service/Pricey!!! I have visited Prestige many times in recent years. Recently realized I've never written a review. The Prestige Dry Cleaners is located in the Georgetown Square shopping center-next door to the Giant grocery store. Let's review now. First & for most this is not the cheapest nor cheap Dry Cleaners in Bethesda! What is does is provide excellent quality service. This is my Dry Cleaner for specialty items & When quality & accountably are most important. I most recently visited May 2018: (See Photo) *DownComforter cleaned-specifically dry cleaned. Upon picking up in May 2018: cleaned comforter arrived in a sturdy plastic cube. I unzipped cube Touched the comforter & sniffed to ensure no wet spots or smell existed. Fast forward I took said comforter out of its packing December 2018. Fluffed it up, placed it on the bed. It looked great, fluffed up fine, no smell. *I've had leather gloves cleaned several times. Most recently August 2018. First use November 2018. Clean, soft supple leather to touch. In fairness everything not alway perfect. However when Prestige had Epic Fail They corrected it Immediately. *Winter Down Jacket: In 2016 I brought my heavy down jacket in To be washed professionally,(too heavy for home wash), not the first time for Prestige cleaning jacket. I picked up jacket-pockets seemed wet; (I assumed it just came from being cleaned) it would dry quickly. I was wrong! The next morning I felt the jacket it was still damp. I immediately called Prestige & explained the Situation. The manager was surprised & asked me To bring back the jacket to be cleaned again. I returned to Prestige & the manager Felt the jacket herself & agreed it wasn't properly Dried. After this I learned to check jacket upon pick up. She had the jacket recleaned & returned the next day clean, dry & complementary-No Cost. This is why I say Excellent Service. . read more

I've been using dry cleaning services for over 30 years in several states, and I've never experienced pricing or service like this. I selected this location because it was convenient, but I was shocked when they charged me $52 to dry clean just four pairs of pants. On top of the extremely high price, the customer service was disappointing. If a business charges premium rates, I expect premium service -- and this place did not deliver. The attitude and overall experience did not match the cost. There are many other dry cleaners in the area that offer better service and more reasonable pricing. I would recommend choosing another place. read more

I had a terrible experience at Le Prestige Cleaners. They charged me $11 to clean a simple t-shirt, which I had only paid $15 for when I bought it. When I pointed out the outrageous price, they didn't care at all and basically told me that dry cleaning is expensive and if I didn't like their prices, I shouldn't come back. They charged me the same price as a blouse for a basic t-shirt and refused to adjust the price. Extremely overpriced. I won't be returning. read more

The people are friendly enough, but their prices have gone through the roof since the pandemic. I used to pay approximately $15 to have a pair of jeans hemmed. Now they charge $25 a pair! Talk about price gouging! I will definitely have to start doing this myself. read more

I have been going to this dry cleaner for years. Mostly for simple alteration. I always thought, they were too expensive, but since they did good work/conveniently located, I did not object. Until, recently, when I was charged over $ 80.00 for hemming two standard pair of pants. I paid the money and told them I would never go back. A lady in charge of alteration told me that she would give me a discount, next time !! My advice, never use this place. They rip people off and once, you catch the rip-off they promise a discount !! It is the most convenient to my house, and so I come here sometimes. But every time I do, I regret it. In terms of the service provided, there is nothing special. So, my wife and I moved to town recently. This place is close to our house and we decided to use them for convenience. My wife brought in an old quilt for them to clean. When she dropped it off she told them it was quite old and they took it without further comment. 10 days later I picked it up, and it was noticeably cleaner, to their credit. It cost $25, which I thought was a little steep, but whatever. The problem was when I got home and took it out of the bag - the insides of the quilt were all balled up, where it used to be flat and even. Which is to say, the quilt is ruined. I was fairly peeved, but I assumed that if I brought it back to them they could help my come up with a fix, or at least refund my money - no such luck. The nice woman at the counter explained to me that this often happens to older quilts, but they can't know that until after the ruin them. When I asked why she didn't tell my wife about this possibility (eventuality), she replied that "we always try". Are you kidding me??? Well, needless to say, I will never be back there and I would recommend that you avoid bringing anything of value or needing special attention there. I'm not sure if they are incompetent or malicious, but either way you end up with ruined stuff. Save yourself a hassle and use another dry cleaner! read more

I used to go to Dry Clean Plus on Westlake, but switched to Prestige when we moved neighborhoods. It turns out they are sister stores! The quality can't be beat, and they do a great job on Gary's shirts every time. The seamstress is not the cheapest but reasonable and does an immaculate job on my alterations. Cherry on the cake is the girl at the counter who is very friendly and efficient every time I drop/pick up my things. read more

New to north Bethesda. I took four button-down cotton dress shirts to the new Le Prestige Cleaners near Giant on Old G-town. Ordered the usual: clean, heavy starch, folded. The shirts came back as follows: No collar support. No top button guard. Folded as if an after-thought [they are wrinkled and about 3" thick each! The fold is not flat.] Upside down in the plastic bags, and not sealed. This is THE worst excuse for a cleaner I have experienced. And it was the most expensive ever: $3/shirt ! Strongly recommend avoid this place. One can do better elsewhere. Try the cleaners on Rockville Pike near Stella's Bakery. They were a little farther away, but much more professional results! read more

This dry cleaner has 3 locations in Bethesda. Be very careful. They also service Lockheed Martin CHQ. They gave my clothes to another customer 7 days ago and the owner and the employees have basically been hostile and non responsive to my calls. The owner has gone so far as to yell at me and tell me I have to just wait until the other customer that they gave my clothes to returns them. The employees and owner initially promised to call me back and repeatedly failed to do so. I am not sure I will ever get my clothes back and the owner just tells me I must wait and give him time. I used this cleaner for more than a year after moving to North Bethesda, purely out of convenience. The other reviewer who described this place as "incredibly pricey" is absolutely correct; they charge far more than any other dry cleaner in the area for basic dress shirt laundering. When I would pick up my shirts, I would frequently discover cracked and broken buttons resulting from their haphazard laundering/pressing technique. I've attempted to have several items altered/tailored here, and they're rarely done right the first time. When an item clearly hasn't been altered pursuant to the customer's instructions, it's outrageous to demand that the customer pay A SECOND TIME for the same item (which should've been done correctly the first time)! This evening was the last straw. I'd asked for the hem on a pair of dress trousers to be let out a little bit (i.e., adding a little over half an inch of length), and for the bottom of the hem to be sloped "as severely as possible" from back to front. Well, the hem was almost straight across, resulting in exactly the sort of extra length and break on the top of my shoe that I'd explicitly told them I wanted to avoid! When I pointed this out to the tailor, I expected to be told that the kind of severe sloping effect I'd asked for was simply impossible, and that if I wanted the extra length I'd have to suffer the added break. Imagine my surprise when the tailor promptly pinned the front and middle of the hem (without shortening the back) and told me that this issue could be fixed! I couldn't have been clearer in my instructions when dropping off the item, participating in the first round of marking/pinning, and paying for the alterations. The job was not done correctly, so there is absolutely NO REASON that I should be responsible for the labor cost of any correction(s) necessitated by the shop's negligence. Every dry cleaners and/or tailor shop I've ever used has done re-do's and corrections free of charge in situations like this. If there's an opposite philosophy to "the customer is always right," then that's the attitude of the staff at Le Prestige Cleaners. With so many other options in the immediate vicinity that charge less and treat their customers better, you'd be crazy to put up with this place! read more

I moved to the area recently. This place is close to our house and we decided to use them for convenience. I dropped off two school bags and warned that there was a possibility of colour over-run. I needed a 24 four hour service and was told that that was to go back the next day @5:30. However the person who took the order said he did not know what the price would be as he has never taken in school bags before. next day I went to pick up and was informed that they do not do a 24 hour service for bags... Hmmm... okay when would they be ready?.... they did not know because they were running into problems with the school letter heads on the bags. All right I said but, by the way how much will it cost? The lady did not know as she had not looked at the bags. Okay I said just let me know and please also it is okay if it can not be done. They took my phone details and said they would call me with details of pricing and when it would be ready. By Thursday the next week I still had not heard from them so I went by. The bags were ready. Told it was a charged 20$! I said i thought it was a bit much but paid any way. A closer look at the bags and they were not clean at all! I showed the dirt marks and she said it was stains! Then she throw 5 dollars at me and said she know my kind and she did not to take the bags back to be cleaned because they can't do it. Wow!... why did they not just say that from the start and why throw 5$ @ me?!!!... My Kind..!!!??? I will take a look at the mirror maybe I look like some person from Mars or Jupiter! Maybe in those plants there is no need for courtesy or civility. I've been coming here since it opened a couple years back. Always greeted with a smile, and 3 out of 5 times, the worker is a member of the owner's family, who I've gotten to know fairly well. Great small family-run business, does a stellar job on shirts and drycleaning. There's a seamstress on site most of the time and last time she did a good job hemming my pants. The pricing certainly isn't like Zips with 1.99 for any garment, but fair for what they do. Best in the area in terms of quality and customer service. The owner and the daughter are also great with kids so don't be shy and bring your rowdy ones along on your errands. read more

We have been going to Prestige Dry Cleaners for the past two years. While they are incredibly pricey, we were always happy with their service. Recently, however, they lost one of my shirts. When my wife went to pick it up, they said they didn't have it but would notify us "when they find it." Two weeks have passed and we haven't heard from them--no offer to buy a substitute or reimburse us for the other items we had dry cleaned. In addition, my wife's silk dress came back with a hole. Worst experience ever. I went in with clothes and a small rug to see if they would clean it. The girl at the counter wasn't the owner and took the rug saying that they would call me to let me know what the price was. This was at the beginning of the summer. I waited for the call, waited, looked for their number (which I couldn't find because they had just taken over). I never got a call at all. I went back returning from traveling and they literaly made up a price on the spot: $50!!! I couldn't believe it. With the additional $25 for 3 pairs of women pants that was the highest dry cleaning bill for the fewer number of items I had ever paid. Unreal. Tried it twice. Both times clothes were still dirty when I picked them up. I told them to redo the sweater and the second time it was clean. I'm pretty sure I paid twice to have the sweater cleaned, but couldn't prove it so didn't insist. And over $7. for one sweater which is more than I pay elsewhere. Won't go back. I brought into Prestige for cleaning 2 woolen afghans among several that my mother had made for our family about 40 years ago. There were some tears in both of them and the woman employee at Prestige asked for $25 extra to repair each. I agreed. One of the afghans was red, white and blue, and was part of a pair of two for twin beds. A few days later, Prestige phoned to say the afghans were ready, so my husband and I went there to pick them up. They asked for $90 for cleaning and mending the two, which we paid by American Express card. At this point, Prestige said nothing about any problems with the colors. Then they brought out the afghans and we were shocked! The one that had been red, WHITE and blue was now red, PINK and blue! The one that had been red, PINK and white was now red, pink and ANOTHER SHADE OF PINK! The one that had been red, white and blue no longer matched its twin! And the absence of white in both made them look faded and deprived them of their prior sparkle. We complained to the man in charge at Prestige, and he just shrugged and did not offer to do anything or even to apologize. We have requested American Express not to pay this charge and are writing this review as well as sending a copy to our local Office of Consumer Protection. What we once regarded as family heirlooms to be handed on to our children are now ruined. read more

I've been going to Prestige for almost ten years. They do a great job of dry cleaning and laundering all of my clothing from the cheapest to the most expensive. They also make great repairs and are very honest. My wife once dropped off some clothing and they called back within 10 minutes to let us know that she had left about $100 in a pocket! read more

My wife dropped off her wedding dress to have it cleaned. They burned the bottom of it (clearly a burn). They claimed we brought it in like that. When we refused to pay, the older lady who does the ironing started grabbing the dress roughly and almost tore the top off! I WILL NEVER go to them and want to warn everybody. read more

I dropped a dress off on Saturday. They checked the dress and took it in and then suddenly when I go to pick up my dress, they tell me it was damaged to begin with. They burnt my dress and not only refused to take responsibility for it but also made me pay for it.. they yell and scream and talk in their native language so that the customer feels like a fool. I'd been a client of Le Prestige Cleaners for several years & they were expensive but relatively competent...i.e., until they effectively ruined a $695.00 pair of pants that I in good faith had taken in to have their inseam altered. On this and on countless times before, my wife dropped off the pants and expressly stated that we wanted the inseam to be 34". After a five business day wait, we picked up the pants, got them home, removed the plastic & noticed that they looked extraordinarily short. I held them up and they hit me a little below the knee. Rather than the 34" inseam we had requested to the Le Prestige store manager, the seamstress at Le Prestige had given me a 24" inseam. My wife returned to Le Prestige the next day, presented the pants & the receipt (along with the price tag of the pants). The manager denied any culpability or negligence & instead accused us or requesting a 24" inseam when we dropped the pants off. We also pointed out that they should have contacted us prior to irreparably altering the pants if they or the seamstress had any doubt, given the absurdly short, apparent 24" inseam. The manager initially asked my wife what we wanted in compensation, which was what I had paid for the pants, but ultimately, sadly predictably (not to mention unethically) she refused any recompense. Thus, I respectfully ask that you not patronize this "business"--they don't deserve it. Not that any other dry cleaner would have responded any differently, but I expected a little more from them. read more
