We were up for a long weekend and trying all the spots within walking distance of our airbnb in this fantastic sweet village! we walked past on a saturday, early evening, it was packed with happy people on the lovely patio/deck. we decided to come back. we did the next night. big mistake. my burger was inedible, the patty so tough, dry, heavy well well done, the texture of a cardboard brick. i asked our lovely server, Vanessa, i think. she said it had to be well-done by law. has to be bs! my friend's salmon focaccia sandwich was so salty she could not eat it either. i asked for crispy fries, they were greasy and flaccid. same w friend. a lovely delicious weekend EXCEPT for this rotten experience. and they were out of white wine by the glass?!? unacceptable. very poorly run and managed. do not eat here! i doubt the Québecois would stand for this abysmal treatment. read more

This popular local pub is ok but at the end of the day it's just pub food. If you're looking for zero adventure go to the Knowlton Pub and order a burger or a chicken quesadilla or a smoked meat sandwich. You won't be disappointed but you may not really write home about the meal. read more

This is the first time I've been to this place, despite having visited Knowlton many times. My sister had been here previously so she was the one who recommended it. We drove over for a late lunch and chose to sit outside on the patio as it was a lovely, windy day, which helped cut down the heat. It was a bit busy so we didn't have to wait too long for a menu. There is a QR code at the entrance to access the menu. If you're unable to access it because of a lack of wifi your server will type in the password for you. We sat in the far corner so we could watch the traffic on Chemin de Knowlton. Our server (I'm so sorry I forgot her name but she was accommodating, friendly and, of course, bilingual. We both ordered the red beer on tap and fish & chips, which was plentiful and really good. Québec's french fries/frittes are like no other in the world & only those of us born in the province know this. There's a distinct sweetness to the taste that can't be compared elsewhere. The fish (cod) was crispy on the outside & tender on the inside. The Cole slaw was crunchy & sweet. This was probably the only place that didn't have or get asked if we wanted water. Didn't see any on the tables close by either. This place hasn't been reviewed in quite a long time and not all reviews are positive, so I wanted to make sure they get put back on the positive side. Nice patio. Local dive. Overcooked burgers BOG Cranberry brie. Mediocre fries. Good service. This is a popular restaurant in the area. I was there with a big crowd and we likely put a strain on the kitchen and the serving staff, so keep that in mind as you read my review. They had a great and very large patio, which is wonderful for the summer cottage (and horse show) crowd. The restaurant itself is an older building and a bit quirky. I ordered a BOG Cranberry Brie burger - and it was noticeably over-cooked. Very disappointing. To make it worse, the meal was not even saved by the French fries. Other people seemed to enjoy their meals. Would I recommend: That's a tough one. It was perfect for the crowd of 40 people we had - and they did a good job of handling that crowd with appropriate waitstaff, and overall keeping the order rolling without extended waits. (So kudoos for that.) Would I return: Maybe. Based on others getting meals they enjoyed, might be worth a second chance. read more

I've been here a few times; the patio is great and so is the service. I know it's pub food but recently I ordered the Caeser chicken sandwich for lunch. It was deep fried chicken with lettuce in a wrap with no evidence of caeser dressing. The chicken must have been deep fried a couple of days before since if was hard as a rock. We were in Jay Vermont for a hockey tournament and wanted to go to Canada and find something to eat. The border guard said go to Knowlton and we found the Pub. We first walked into the building and were greeted by a slew of "bikers" at the bar. It seemed a little intimidating and we realized we had to go outside to go to the restaurant. Sitting outside was nice but there were flies all over. I know you take some risk eating outside but these flies were excessive. It took a while to get waited on. We had our food choices already ready by the time they had called. My two companions ordered Sodas but I ordered the house white sangria. It was really fruity and less "winey" but refreshing. I ordered the crazy duck flat bread. It was huge. It came out with a very large helping of duck spread across it with goat cheese arugula and balsamic glaze. I was only able to eat one piece. My husband ordered the BOG burger. He ordered with poutine. We had never had poutine so he was trying to dissect it as he ate it but it was really tasty, with a good helping of cheese curds. My son had a cheeseburger and onion rings. The cheeseburger came with a mountain of delicious beer battered onion rings. Other than the wait staff being extremely slow, they were very friendly and they were very patient with a few Americans that came to the restaurant. The menu was in both English and French so that made ordering easy. Other than trying to figure out the monetary conversion, we really didn't have any issues with the difference being in another country. And getting across the border was very easy! read more

This is an awesome place if you are craving a burger because they have several delicious looking varieties on the menu. They have a huuuge terasse both under cover and in the sun to enjoy the outdoors. They offer several cocktails as well as beer to sip on under the sun. I had the coconut shrimp entree that was served with a spicy/sweet Thai sauce as well as the steak sandwich, everything was yummy as expected. My mother had the chicken quesadilla and my grandmother ordered the chicken Cesar salad... Both tried their hardest to finish their plates but you definitely get what you paid for! Sly waiter... 40 min to have a second glass of wine, no condiment with the smoked meat even after asking the waiter for 3 timeS. Seriously worst experience from a waiter i ve experienced. read more

This is a local staple and party spot -- gourmet pub it is not; it's bar food served on the patio in town for people watching. The beer is cold and the burger is passable. It's especially fun as the sun goes down. read more
