I am on a quest to try old skool coffee shops in So Cal! I came across this place on IG and had to try it... I ordered the Spanish Omelette; three eggs with your choice of cheese.. I opted for swiss. It was delicious.. Eggs cooked to perfection and cheese melted just right. Wasn't greasy.. Tasted light and fluffy, matched up with some crispy hash browns and sourdough toast.. I was immediately greeted by the hostess/waitress/cashier.. Very efficient considering this place was packed on Monday morning/lunchy time.. I took the counter since I was solo and my food came out quickly and piping hot! As for the location, it was literally walking into 1982.. Pretty nostalgic and was all decorated for Easter.. I recommend this place for the entire experience..

"Can I please get biscuits with gravy on the side?", I asked. "Yes." she said. I had a hankering for some biscuits. This hit no spots.

Le Roy's is a classic local gem that's been around for a long time. It does have a old school type diner vibe in a cottage type setting. Best place to have breakfast, it brunch. The entrees are delicious, classic homestyle. Huge portions at a very affordable prices. The staff are friendly and offers excellent service.

Came for lunch on a Saturday and to sum it up - large portions but mediocre food. I ordered the steak and eggs with country fries, and unfortunately the steak was reallyyyy tough. For the biscuits and gravy, I was disappointed as the biscuits were really dry. The gravy was solid but definitely needed a lot of it to make up for the dry biscuit. My fiancé ordered bacon, hash browns, and fried eggs. The bacon was SO SALTY, but in the end worked with the bland hash browns. Probably wouldn't be back again, which is a shame because the service was really friendly and we loved the homey diner vibes.

Came for some brunch on a weekend and there weren't that many people waiting. We waited about 5 minutes before our name was called. The staff was great in helping me choose between 3 menu choices. I ended up with their French toast, eggs, and bacon. I also ordered a side of tater tots. The order of the French toast is gigantic because they use a Texas toast and contained no cinnamon. The server brought over the cinnamon shaker after it came to the table. I ordered the eggs as scrambled easy and it came out just the way I wanted. Bacon could have been a little crisper but it was still delicious. My husband got their chili with a patty. Im not sure what it was called, but he ate it all. Our friend didnt know he could add chili to his omelet. He loved it as well. We love this place and we will be back!

Great service, parking is easy/accessible. Not pictured in photo, but fresh fruit plate was 10/10.

This restaurant warmed my heart's strings. Walked in with a friend on a brisk Sunday for brunch. While there was a line, when we walked in, we asked one of the staff members how long the wait would be and she said about 15 minutes. Not bad for a Sunday! We waited and got sat in less than 15 minutes. :) It's a cozy restaurant with plenty of charm. There's also covered outdoor seating which is what we preferred (fresh-air + better natural light for foodie photos hehe). There are a plethora of wonderful options. My friend and I ordered the Pancake Combo and the Waffle combo. Waffle Combo - 1 waffle with a choice of two eggs any style (I ordered mine over easy) and I also ordered a side of ham steak in which, I LOVE that they have the THICK ham steak!!! The best! Please continue to keep that option on your menu. :) With the waffle, make sure to order extra crispy! You will thank me later. Pancake combo - 3-4 large pancakes, two eggs any style and hashbrowns! SOOOOO yummy. Love the crisp hashies!!! For drinks - they have the usual coffee, orange juice, soda, water, etc. The service was fabulous! A lady named Alex was our server most of the meal and she was very polite and always checked in on us multiple times! I appreciate that soooo much! Towards the end, Lany assisted us with getting our check and boxes for us since Alex was busy. Love the teamwork! Love the great energy and smiles from the entire staff. The establishment was pretty clean as well except I do have to note, my laminated menu was a tad bit dirty with residue such as dried ketchup. Please ensure you are wiping down your menus well! People pay attention to detail and so it's important to keep those clean! I'm not from the area, I'm from San Diego, I was just passing through coming back from a trip and chose to eat at this restaurant. I would definitely come back again if I were in the area!

Way to support great local businesses who are sharing their passion! Moffett's Family Restaurant & Chicken Pie Shoppe is 1 out of the 24 participating restaurants in the MySGV food passport. My 3rd restaurant visited and stamp acquired. Nice! I have previously visited Moffett's twice for take-out only. My most recent visit was for dine-in. Interior has a quaint country home diner feel to it. Lots of inside bench and stool seatings. Desiree was my server. She was exceptionally attentive and made sure I got what I needed at all times. Thanks Dez! Here is their free food offering... 1 Chicken Pot Pie and 1 Slice of Dessert Pie for dine-in only. Wow, that's a great food and dessert combo! Thank you Moffett's! In addition to the chicken pot pie and slice of peach pie (my choice of fruit), I also got their Moffett's Melt with turkey (they offer chicken, too) plus homemade chicken noodle soup (you could get salad instead). Just one word, DELICIOUS! Food came out pipping hot. Flavors were amazing! Chicken pot pie had dark meat which I prefer. Good size and lots of moist and tender chicken chunks. It was covered with too much gravy though. I'll ask for the gravy to be on the side next time. As for the pie, it was okay... too much filling and not enough peaches. Crust was the highlight of the pie... very light and flaky with just enough sweetness! PERFECTION! Moffett's Melt had fresh lettuce and tomatoes with lots of crispy bacon strips and sweet turkey slices... highly recommend! Love the chicken noodle soup... so many chicken chunks! VERY GOOD! So glad I got a chance to dine-in. I look forward to future dine-ins and take-outs. Come check out Moffett's and support your neighborhood's family restaurant!

The food here is over priced and lacking taste. The pastry they use for their pot pies and sweet pies is like eating card board. Don't get me started about their use of canned vegetables and what appears to be powdered potatoes, and if they are not, congratulations on recreating powdered potatoes while using real ones. I'm guessing there are a few nursing home residents who enjoy them. Finally for choosing their restaurant to spend your hard earned money in, they reward you with a 3% charge when you use a credit card, which restaurants have always absorbed as a courtesy to the customers who choose their restaurant to eat at. I've worked in the restaurant industry for over 50 years. When you start nickel and dimming your customers every time they eat at your restaurant, when you are already treating them to the cheapest food products, let's face it, are you actually still in business? Sorry, but we are done with this place!

So just an FYI. The location was full of energy and full of customers. The moment we came in we were well taken care of by the staff. They greeted us and lucky for us a booth was open. It's a spacious restaurant for numerous party sizes. We opted to just shared the corned beef hash and eggs. Our waitress was amazing! She even asked the staff to split the dish into two separate plates. Which was a great surprise. The meal also came with bread of choice. The food came out quickly and the portions were sizable even when split into two. My wife and I enjoyed the corned beef hash plate and both of use finished it handily. I would love to try more things on another visit. The staff and service here is what stood out for me. We felt well taken care of the whole time by all the staff. Thanks, J & A's Cafe! ( ^_^)b

We got 2 hot coffees, 2 different breakfast plates: a California Omelette and Breakfast Quesadilla, and a French Toast to share. I'm a sauce gal, so I was super excited when they brought over 3 different sauces/salsas for our breakfast. I love a good tang to my breakfast, and these sauces were their differentiator. Their California Omelette was served piping hot and came with ham, onion, bell pepper, mushroom on the inside, and melty American cheese on top - my perfect kind of omelette. Ooo and their hash browns are done perfectly. Amazing crust on the outside, soft potato in the middle. I would come back just for their hash browns to be honest. My fiancé also liked his Breakfast Quesadilla and was a big fan of their hash browns, too. We were seated in the back in a booth and they have that great 90s leather feel to them. The whole restaurant is decked out with cool art on the walls and funny signage like, "We do not have Wi-Fi. Talk to each other. Pretend it's 1995" hahaha it made me laugh, and I appreciate that in this day and age, esp my generation where we are glued to phones all the time. The owners and managers must be pretty cool and for that, I will be back just for the chance of meeting these cool people. We will definitely be back to try more of their menu. We felt with happy smiles and full tummies. Till next time!

You can immediately tell this is a family-run restaurant where people genuinely care. The food was exceptional. I have honestly never had hash browns this fresh before. I was very impressed with the overall customer service. Now it makes sense why they have been in business for 100 years. The true test was trying out some basic dishes to see how good the food is. Pancake, 1/2 order of French toast, and of course a half an order of biscuits and gravy topped with scrambled eggs. The pancake was soft and fluffy. It was so good I really wanted to fold it up to eat as a taco, but I didn't want to be judged. It was so good that it left me wanting to risk all my manners. The French toast was excellent. Each bite was consistently delicious, well made and great flavor. The half order of biscuits and gravy paired with scrambled eggs is excellent. The biscuits were delicious, the gravy had a great rosemary taste, and the gravy is a bit on the thinner side. Personally it wasn't a deal breaker for me. It was still delicious. What would have made my simple meal perfect was coffee with creamer. They only serve half and half. Not a deal breaker but I prefer creamer giving it a true diner feel to it. Still giving 5 stars because the service and food was perfect. Thank you again! Definitely will be back!

California Benedict was pretty basic, or just the bare minimum actually. It was okay, ingredients don't really stand out. My bf's country fried steak, he was disappointed that the steak didn't even look fried. He wasn't really a fan of his order lol. I thought the potatoes were pretty decent, although I wish they were cut smaller into like breakfast potatoes. They were so chunky, but also wish they could be fried more. Overall, I feel like we chose the wrong items from this place lol, but these were the items highlighted on the Yelp page?
