The vibe is fab Parisian cafe walking distance from the Sacred Heart Church! Salem warmly greeted us and took our order. Yanis did the hard yeoman's work of contending with us and delivered our dishes! (Learned 3 groups from Texas were already in and out today!) The traditional onion soup was superb! Love that melted cheese! The deviled egg was delicious! The truffle added a bit of delish mischief! (Truffle elevates so many dishes!) The grilled steak was a perfect medium rare plus (that's pronounced ploo, en français). The green onion and green pepper on top was a fantastic touch! Just the right spice! The chicken breast was fab! The mash was creamy with hint of citrus...yuzu! The red & white microgreens were a gourmet touch! The sausage was well-flavored and satisfying. The potatoes were really good! The rich gravy was super yummy! Microgreens added freshness! Yanis was sooo attentive! No room for dessert this time! Would order everything again! Yoohoo!

3.5 stars is about right. This was my 2nd time here. Great location, nice view for people watching, good service, okay food. Inside tip: know that the prices marked up for tourists! Food: I got a version of steak frites. Quality and large cut of beef! My gripes: Food wasn't piping hot, and steak had clearly been cut into to check the level of done-ness. Unfortunately, a large chunk was no where near the well-done I requested. That said, they were allergy accommodating and ingredients were quality. Service: Pretty food. Waiter had a bit of humor and was helpful in fixing another problem with my drink. Ambiance: It's the kind of bistro/café environment I was looking for! A decent option when in the neighborhood. I'd go back for some vin chaud and people watching.

The decor - 5 stars The food - 2 stars The service - 2 stars This place was on my list for some time and it left me disappointed. The food looks good only in the pictures, trust me. - The risotto with truffles and prawns was undercooked and the tomato sauce was superfluous. - The salmon and dorado tartar with mango had too much dill in it and the taste of it was overpowering. The service was slow (even for Paris) and not attentive.

Can't wait to return! Went for dinner and returned the following morning before leaving Paris.

We had the BEST time here. Last minute reservation for 8 people with 20 mins notice. Our server was incredible and it was the quickest, most attentive service I've ever had. Food and drinks were amazing as well as the ambiance, and they even gave us complimentary shots before we headed to see Moulin Rouge. Could not have been more perfect

Two of us came here just before dinner time rush and stayed a while. Had a large variety platter and lots of wine. Most of the finger food was very good and some were just okay. Staff was friendly! Bathroom was clean. Pretty good value although... we did not eat that much but drank plenty and it came out to $25 per person. Not sure if I would come back. Maybe if I'm in the area but I would also be tempted to try a new place.

We ate her our first night in Paris as we were tired from travel and didn't want to travel too far from the hotel. The service and cocktails were great and both 5-star worthy. Unfortunately the food was average despite the hefty price tag. My girlfriend had a fish dish and while well cooked, was small; even for her who doesn't eat much. My turkey was dry and over cooked but was at least in a good sauce. Worth going to if you are just wanting cocktails but definitely better food options available in the area.

We came to see the Sacre Couer back in 2010 but didn't walk around the neighborhood at all. So naturally, we ventured back to the area because I remembered it seemed interested and of course, we were hungry, so as we wandered around, we found ourselves here. We decided to eat inside near the window so we could watch people. The staff, all men, were very friendly and attractive...LOL! It reminded me of those movies where everyone is beautiful...LOL! We ordered a bottle of wine, which was very good. I can't stop saying how great the wines are in France compared to the U.S. I ordered one of their salads cause it was later in the day and I didn't want to fill up before dinner...LOL! The partner ordered the steak special and though it was tender, it could've been a little bigger considering the amount of potatoes that were on the plate. The ambiance is great! The view was fun! The only thing that bothered me was the smoking from the sidewalk tables, but we're in France and it's what they do. This is a great place to sit, converse, and eat. As far as a tourist trap, we were the only tourists, so I think it's a local hangout. I would definitely come back if I was in the area, perhaps for wine and a cheese board. Again, the staff was very friendly and it was a great place to chill.

Luca Recommended a meal with a mashed potatoes and sausage with French bread and salad and it sounded tasty so I gave it a go! All the flavors went well together; mashed potatoes were well seasoned the sausage had a good flavor, and the salad with the vinaigrette added a crunch in an extra flavor as well. I drank a French hard cider while I gobbled up my meal, which also was new for me and tasted great after I was done my meal. Luke brought me a shot with rum and some other ingredients, including lemon that definitely hit the spot after a good meal.I recommend Brasserie Belanger for anyone near GDN Train Station that enjoys great food and patio dining. The restaurant itself isn't small, but really not big, so it's definitely worthwhile to make a reservation at least a week or so on advance, otherwise you're pushing your luck. Everyone ordered steak frites (2 rump steak, 2 flank) and no one was disappointed. Steaks were cooked to order, although medium here in France is more like medium rare in the States, just be advised. The restaurant itself is lively and fun with lots of chatting, laughing and good times being shared. Desserts were Crème Brûlée and Apple Crumble, neither of which were disappointing. We definitely enjoyed our dinner and would likely return again. This time with a reservation made well in advance.

We started with Oeufs mayonnaise, which is a hard boiled egg topped with mayo. This was quite a simple dish, but definitely got us prepped for the meal. They initially made a mistake on our order and sent us the veal fingers. After rectifying the mistake, they ended up comping it, so we got an additional appetizer to try. The fried fish went well with the tartar sauce. For the mains, we got the bavette frites with bearnaise sauce and steak tartare with frites. Both dishes were delicious and satisfying, the flavors were excellent and each bite had me wanting more. If you haven't tried tartare before, give it a try here because it was delish! For dessert, we shared the Paris-Brest, a choux pastry topped with mousseline, pralines and roasted hazelnuts. We enjoyed sharing it and it made for a sweet end to our dinner. Overall, this was a great meal to start our trip, everything we had was delicious and my expectations were met!

I decided to try the chef's special, which was a beef tenderloin a la rossini (truffle sauce and foie gras). I'm not typically a foie gras fan, but I figured since we're in Paris that I'd give it a shot. I'm very glad I did because it was absolutely delicious. The steak melded perfectly with the truffle sauce and fois gras. This was all served with potatoes au gratin, and blanched green beans. Everything was perfect. I also ordered two large beers. A Grimbergin blonde and a Kronenbourg ale. I love how both beers were served in their respective brand's glasses. Such a nice touch. For dessert, we ordered an Apple Tarte Tartin, upon a recommendation from one of the staff. It was light, sweet, and served with some ice cream and créme fraîce.
