Here's what's great about Beatriz: -Beatriz is the owner and has a vested interested in finding you the right nanny. -Her mind is a Rolodex of nannies. You tell her what you need, she'll find the right person. -She's honest; she'll tell you the pro's and con's of each person. -She is patient. She gives us time to think through what we want in a nanny and will ping us occasionally if she doesn't hear from us but she didn't harass us with emails/phone calls. If you tell her, hey I'm busy but I'll reach out to you when I'm ready, she gets it. -Beatriz works *fast*; she found us 4 nannies to interview in a day and all of them beat our expectations. -Most importantly Beatriz LISTENS and she GETS IT. I felt my requirements might be a little different than some of her other clients but she satisfied every single one of them based on the ladies she sent over for interviews. Here's what's great about OC Home and Family nannies: -OC Home and Family takes the time to include a detailed resume, references, reference letters and a photo of the nanny. -All nannies will have to undergo a background check. Some nannies are CPR certified. -OC Home and Family pre-screens all nannies and sets up all appointments so all you need to do is just interview. It's been 3 months with our nanny that Beatriz found for us and we *love* her. Most importantly, my daughter loves her. Update from last review…read more The owner really tries to do her best. However, the sitters are hit or miss. Sometimes the sitters do an excellent job, show up on time, and engage my child. Other times, they're on their phones, barely paying attention, and lets my child do dangerous things. However, the most frustrating part of this is not knowing whether the sitter will show up or not. So often, we will have a sitter confirmed just to have them cancel last minute (1-2 hours before the session). This is problematic because once a sitter claims an appointment, other sitters can't claim it. So when there is a last minute cancellation, we are just screwed. Not sure why these sitters are so poorly trained and have so many commitment issues. But having a babysitting service be so unreliable is a huge red flag.

We have used 3 nannies from this agency so far and I had communication issues with all of them. The nannies are very stubborn and stuck in their own ways. They have a difficult time following direction and instead insist on doing things the way they want to. The first nanny we had was constantly making phone calls on the clock and refused to heat up the milk prior to feeding our baby. The second nanny was better, she helped keep our home tidy, and was good with our baby. She was probably the best nanny we had from this agency. Unfortunately, she injured her back and had to leave our family earlier than planned. Which brings us to our current and final nanny from this agency. She's a little older so she can't help carry the baby in her car seat up the stairs. She's often on her iPhone watching Chinese dramas. She also decided to hang up her dirty underwear and bra on our hallway bathroom towel rack. Additionally, she seems to have a lot of unsolicited advice on how we should dress our baby. She doesn't cook for us or do the baby's laundry. She doesn't even know how to follow directions ie shoves the nipple of the bottle in my bottle averse baby's mouth & ignored me when I told her "no". It doesn't seem that this agency takes the time to really vet out these nannies, instead hiring whomever applies. The agency also takes a while to respond to any text messages which is also incredibly frustrating. I highly recommend spending a little extra coin and using a different agency. Especially if you are a first time parent.

Although I met an amazing sitter that couldn't babysit for us ongoing, everyone else was very subpar. I was only provided with two interviews. The first person never replied back after the interview and the second moved out of the city without any notice. Shannon never sent a replacement and simply apologized. They don't give you anything else. Also, it's been months and I had never received a replacement or done interviews with any candidates. Their pool is small and they will make it look and sound like they have more sitters and nannies than they do have. I did receive sitters for the days my sitter left me after the fact from their on call sitter pool. It was scary. One girl came smelling like cigarettes, another girl mentioned to me how their background is a joke and you can use your family as experience and that the owner coaches you on how the resume should look. This particular sitter also stated that she has a lot of patience with others people's children but she would probably beat up her own children. Terrifying. Therefore given all the facts I didn't want to move forward with getting another interview since they never provided me my replacement, per the contract I requested a refund of 50 % of my fee which Shannon replied she didn't think she needed to give me since her on call sitters service cost a daily amount of $30 per day when people use them. Absurd. She didn't acknowledge the fact that she only gave me the sitter on call service because she had ZERO replacement for me. Therefore she didn't abide by the contract. I sent her a couple emails which the last was left unresponsive and texts which were left ignored. If someone wants to see my interaction with the agency I have emails and texts that I am happy to screenshot if you message me privately. Run away from this agency if you want good care for your kids. You will be better off with an au pair that you can train and have an actual contract and something to stand behind.
