I am so happy that sommelier extraordinaire Tesh has opened up a new wine lounge in the heart of downtown Roseville! If you find the door marked 219 on Vernon Street, make your way upstairs to what looks like a hallway art museum, follow the amazing music (and probably laughter), eventually leading to a cozy and intimate space to sip and toast with friends and even the wine legend himself. Whether you want to chill and relax, have GNO, date night, or pre-game for a show across the street or drinks after dinner next door, As a pro wine steward, Tesh will recommend wines that fit into your taste profile and budget. He's very friendly, down to earth, and polite. Not to mention, you'll probably learn a thing or two about wine! Tesh picked out a lovely Italian Moscato for us, since we were in the mood for some bubbles and my husband prefers something on the sweeter side. There are tables in the room next to the little bar. He does not have a kitchen, so you are welcome to bring in food to enjoy with your wine purchase (sold by the glass or bottle). Come find this hidden gem in downtown Roseville and support their newest small business owner! Pro tip: follow on IG for business hours @leteshwinelounge

And for some that price tag is simply not within reach. Truth is Morton's, Ruth's Chris, and now Fleming's are three national chains with locations in the Sacramento area that do a pretty good job of delivering nearly Indistinguishable experiences. Whatever differences there may have been between them are now minimal, and what really matters is ordering what you like (hard to do if you haven't dined there before), the quality of service (this can vary night to night), and your expectations for what your experience should be for that expense. In addition, now that Morton's (along with Mastro's, Del Frisco's, and The Palm) are owned by Landry's, Ruth's Chris (and Capitol Grille and Eddie V's Prime) by Darden, and Fleming (Bloomin' Brands) are all publicly traded companies - hence Corporate policies, hiring, training, and the same national two or three food suppliers drive the experience. But if it's your birthday, and you have the money, love steak, they are all pretty equal. So pick any! Order what you like, and it will be good. Focus more on the experience. Personally, I find that none of the expensive chains escape being what they are, chains. It was different 30 years ago. But so was everything else.

I had not been since the ownership transfer. I had my big dog thus a dog friendly patio with some cool air blowing was required to combat the 100-degree weather. The new ownership has made every effort to keep the patio cool during the high heat events, powerful cooling units were strategically placed throughout the patio. We were greeted by Lindsey who was an absolute gem and a Pitty lover! Brutus was happy on the cool concrete and grateful for the bowl of water that she gave him including the copious dog lovings. The owner happened to come by as well and he too was very friendly which set the tone for our visit. I was very much in the mood for sushi (because of the hot weather) which I planned to get a to go order from the place next store on the way home. I was satisfied with having a beer while my mom ate flatbread and enjoyed a cold one as well. However, when the flatbread came. I realized that things 'really' had changed at Citizen Vine. The offering looked great. I'm a foodie. I know at a glance and that's all that it took when here flatbread arrived. Which I enjoyed instantly. Sushi? What sushi? We followed up with some tacos. Boom, batting 2 for 2. Yep, the food game is legit at Citizen Vine, the beer was just what the Dr. ordered so I did not peruse the wine list, it was midday and hot! I'm going to roll the dice and believe that it's capable. The setting is clean and welcoming as was the team that put it all together. Yep, Citizen Vine is doing just fine and ripe for the picking!

I was treated by someone who knew the place very well, so we grabbed seats at the bar. She also knew exactly what to recommend from the menu, and boy, did she hit the nail on the head with the Poke Nachos. We also ordered the tacos, olives, and artichoke dip (which received mixed reviews). Those nachos, though. Everything was topped off with a glass of Carmenet Chardonnay, which truly hit the spot on a triple-digit summer day in ol' Lincoln, Cali. The service was efficient, and management was friendly. An employee (with super short blonde hair) ran out after us with the water bottle I left behind. I'd definitely come back here. Oh, and did I mention the Poke Nachos? Because... the Poke Nachos.

This was actually the first time I visited the entire downtown Roseville area, and I was pleasantly surprised there was a parking garage since all the parking spots in front of the establishment were occupied. We arrived around 1:30PM and observed a fair amount of patrons on a Monday. We were immediately greeted and seated. Loved the decor. After a few minutes mulling over what to get, I ended up getting the French Dip with duck fat fries. I also tried their Divinity Stout. Wow. The food - Amazing! Really enjoyed the French Dip - well sized portion and ended up having leftovers that I was able to enjoy a few hours later ha! The Stout (Divinity) - I need to go back and buy some bottles to go. So good! I'll definitely be back. The one minor gripe was I observed was there weren't any TV's at the bar (from what I can see anyway). I would have loved to head over here as I am writing this review to watch the NBA finals. All good!

I remembered I had once gone to monks cellar with friends and had a great French dip and beers so I thought I'd give it a try it again. I came in and the place was quiet I sat down at the bar and asked if it was OK. The host even came over and gave me a food menu. I was ready to order within seconds of arriving. However! The bartender decided to not talk to me for 15 minutes at least. I watched him slowly make somebody else's drink, leave the bar and just go chitchat with people that were already there drinking beer and having food and then disappearing into the kitchen. So rude. I will not be giving my money back to this place monk cellar again. I truly hope people read this review.
