Guarded by a gatekeeper who will ask you for the password for the day. You better grab that off Instagram. We had no idea so I told him Will sent us and well. I got a good scolding, they let me in. Once you enter, it feels like you walked into the 1920s with the leather shrouded barstools at the tables, the hardwood bar and the stuffed animals that include a buffalo, pheasants, and more. Craft cocktails are all they do and they're really good at it. Take a look at part of the menu Iposted in the pictures. This is a great place to come and have a cocktail or two before or after dinner. Come see for yourself as you won't be disappointed. Parking can be a little dicey in downtown Roseville, if you're lucky you'll get one right on the street but if not, there's plenty of public parking around.

Who doesn't love the idea of a speakeasy?? We decided to head to Roseville in pursuit of a secret place. We found the secret door, knocked, and a young man answered. He asked for the password. Unfortunately I am not on social media and that's where you're supposed to find it. Bummer! I decided to use my own password. It worked and we entered the inner sanctum. It was a cool, smallish place with nice decor. The bar was the first thing we saw. I looked around to see a few tables and couches to the left. It was pretty early and there were only a few people there so we got a cozy little table in front of a velvety couch. I went to the bar where a burly tattooed OG bartender greeted me. I ordered an old fashioned and a raspberry lemon drop. My old fashioned was done very well. I'm on an old fashioned kick right now and love to try them at different places that look like they know how to make them. This one was really good. My friend wasn't so keen on her lemon drop, saying the lavender was a bit overpowering. We had another round and this time she had something different that she enjoyed. My second old fashioned was just as good as the first. It was getting later and more people happened to have the password and it was getting crowded. We were done, paid the tab, which wasn't bad considering how most speakeasy's can be pretty pricy. Overall, it was a great experience, the place was nice, friendly, and the drinks were done well. Give it a shot. Find the password, or use your own if you dare!

Caden greeted us with great hospitality, made sure we were settled in before we golfed, and continued to check on us and help us. I would definitely want to continue coming to Waymaker as long as he is there - our other experiences were not nearly as good without him. Previously, others would not be quick to greet us (we waited nearly 15 minutes once just to get checked in due to the front desk person on their phone at the bar, not even knowing they were a worker). Golf simulator was fun, with plenty of options, such as range, courses, and games. Plenty of selections for drinks as well, including beer, wine, and mixed drinks. We love the sushi and other food options as well. They occasionally have live music and play various sporting events, which helps with them being kid friendly (we bring our 2 year old). I opted for a hamburger and went with the San Francisco burger, which was 1/3 pound patty on sourdough with lettuce, tomato, and all the fixings. The burger itself was delicious and the fries honestly were some of the best I ever had with a beautiful crunch to them. The drinks were good and they had a very special vodka served at happy hour, so I had a vodka tonic, and it was delicious. The atmosphere is really cool and they have a pool table isolated in a little open room. They also have a patio which is shaded due to the way the sun sets, so it's beautiful, especially in the summer. They have live music and an open mike on Wednesday nights which I would've loved to stayed and listen to because we were here on a Wednesday night but just a little too early as it goes from 7 to 9. Definitely will come back to hear some other night. Parking can be a little fragile in downtown Roseville although there are plenty of public parking spaces if you're willing to walk a block or two. Overall, the building is set in old town, Roseville so the overall atmosphere in downtown has that iconic old Roseville feel. Based on the atmosphere, food quality and drink quality overall rating a 4.5 I will be back.

This was actually the first time I visited the entire downtown Roseville area, and I was pleasantly surprised there was a parking garage since all the parking spots in front of the establishment were occupied. We arrived around 1:30PM and observed a fair amount of patrons on a Monday. We were immediately greeted and seated. Loved the decor. After a few minutes mulling over what to get, I ended up getting the French Dip with duck fat fries. I also tried their Divinity Stout. Wow. The food - Amazing! Really enjoyed the French Dip - well sized portion and ended up having leftovers that I was able to enjoy a few hours later ha! The Stout (Divinity) - I need to go back and buy some bottles to go. So good! I'll definitely be back. The one minor gripe was I observed was there weren't any TV's at the bar (from what I can see anyway). We were all ready to go and find another restaurant, but the person seating said to wait a minute. A table was just cleared and she was able to seat us. It was a good thing we paused as we got a table in back, next to the birthday party alcove. When we walked to our seats we passed an alcove with couches and chairs and whole bunch of kids jumping and running around with a few adults mingled in. As it turns out it was a birthday party for one of the adults. They sang to him and he blew out the candles on his cake. The restaurant is quite loud, but not too loud that you could still have a conversation which was a surprised as it was so loud. This is not the place to go for a romantic dinner. It's a pub, minus the year round Shepard's pie. They change the menu twice a year and that's only served fall/winter. That was sad because that was what I really wanted to order. Service was really good, the waiter kept coming back and checking on us. We first ordered drinks, then appetizers. We go the baked Brie Board for the table (there was 4 of us). It was a really solid appetizer. We all over the baked Brie and fruits included. I would order it again for a table of 4. My husband ordered the Monk's Burger and found it very tasty. I agree it was good, but a little on the dry side and the fries wern't crispy enough and tasted old. I got the Halibut. I found it tough and hard to cut into, maybe it was over seared a bit. It didn't taste fish at all which was good. The Cherry and Currant chutney was unusually and addd a good flavor to it. I wouldn't order it again. My girlfriend ordered the Moules Frites and said it had a very generous potion and would feed two easily, though she ate it all herself after sharing some with the table. Everyone agreed it was very tasty. The presentation was good too. It came in a large pot. Lastly our other friend ordered the fish and chips and said it was a generous portion. He only ate half of it and took the other half home and he was hungry to begin with. Parking is street parking or there is a free garage a couple of blocks away and over the bridge. You can see the train passing by on the other side of the bridge. Overall it was a good meal. I though my halibut was subpar and the fries that came with the burger had the texture and taste of old fries, they were also just room temperature when they were borough out. Sadly they weren't piping hot from the frier.

You can imagine my happiness when I stumbled upon this bar/gaming room with the funny German sounding name when I realized it was a glorified pinball arcade room that also served beer. This place is straight amazing-50+ of the greatest pinball machines are available to play. They do use the "game-card" system to pay for these games, which can make playing these games way too easy-games tend to cost about $1 a game in game credits to play, which is far more than I paid when I was an 8 year old kid but then again, that was 45 years ago. They have a pretty solid beer selection-beers tend to go for anywhere between $7-$8 a beer-not too bad in my opinion.Though they do offer a pretty unique item called "Das Boot" which is a pretty large boot that cost $40 and comes with a fill up at time of purchase and 20% off on future fill ups-though not sure what the original cost of a fill up is exactly. One massive upgrade I've learned in the pinball world is nowadays you can download an app by Stern Inc,the majority manufacturer of most of the popular pinball machines and you can register your pinball play and it will keep tabs of everywhere u play and all the scores u achieved on the various pinball machines-I really enjoyed this feature-I only wish they had this when I was in my prime of pinball play when I was a youth. This place doesn't have the best hours but I'm sure there is a reason for these hours-M-F the hours are 5p-10p and on weekends they open at 12p... In closing-If you ever find yourself in the Rocklin area and you get a yearning to try out your pinball machine skills-I couldn't recommend this spot any higher as they are a very unique spot offering a truly awesome experience-a trip down memory lane for some and a whole new world for the younger generation-You should get out there and have some fun. PS-I failed to mention this place is very family friendly-on my particular visit the place was flooded with kids from elementary to high school age honing their pinball machine skills and enjoying every minute of it.

The mac n' cheese bites I had last week were freshly prepared (from scratch), cooked to order, piping hot, and totally delicious--and also under $10. The beers and ciders on tap are all mostly from small, local makers and under $10/pint. They also have plenty of NA drink options. If you're a pinball person, I dare you to find a more accommodating spot for playing and vibing out. If you're not a pinball person, this is a great place to fall in love with the game.

Such a fun vibe. Our server, Art, was fantastic, and the bartenders were equally welcoming. Service was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Happy Hour (Monday-Friday, 3-6 PM) is seriously one of the best I've seen. They offer a huge selection of food, craft cocktails, beer, and wine, all for under $10. It's the perfect excuse to stop in after work or meet up with friends. We brought our son, Ty, and loved that Tuesdays are Kids Eat Free. He ordered the chicken fried rice, and I couldn't believe how generous the portion was. Even better, every kids' meal comes with fresh orange slices and churro bites, which was such a fun touch. The food was fresh, flavorful, and Ty gave it two enthusiastic thumbs up! Now the food... WOW. This is so much more than bar food. The menu is chef-driven with bold Asian-inspired flavors and generous portions. The Firecracker Sashimi was incredibly fresh with just the right amount of heat, and the Drunken Pig Fries were loaded with flavor. The Tom Yum Shrimp completely stole the show. The shrimp were absolutely massive with a crispy coating that stayed perfectly crunchy, tossed in a bold, vibrant tom yum-inspired sauce that packed serious flavor. Served over rice with a fresh arugula salad, every bite was packed with flavor. My husband ordered the Korean Skirt Steak with shrimp, and it arrived on a sizzling hot plate. You could tell the steak had been marinating for a long time because every bite was packed with flavor. The fried rice soaked up all those delicious juices and developed the best crispy bits. Then came the Sticky Toffee Cake... warm, gooey, buttery, and the perfect way to end the meal. An absolute must-order. Amazing food, outstanding service, generous portions, and a fun atmosphere. University of Beer has officially become a new family favorite, and we'll absolutely be back.
