The food is always so delicious. I've been coming here for years!! Last night when we went for dinner, I found out they added a few new items to the menu. We tried a couple new items + ordered the special. The service is always great and the ambiance is nice. Great place for large parties and family friendly. Love when they have special events too!

Decided on an early Friday dinner date night around 5pm here since we were in the area for an event. Located in the middle of downtown Roseville, parking is not hard to find at all as there is plenty of street parking and a nearby garage. The decor inside is stunning. You can see industrial-size equipment for the beer fermentation process, and the dark wooden walls match the cellar theme perfectly. However, we were seated at a small table with bar stools that wasn't very comfortable. It was a warm day outside, so the AC was blasting inside and I got cold very fast. Shout out to my husband for walking back to the car to grab my jacket! We started off with drinks. I got the Thirst Trap mocktail, which was sweet and tart and reminded me of Nerds candy. However, I don't think it was worth the $14 price tag. My husband got the Vernon Street Lager, which was a very tasty beer. For an appetizer, we ordered the Pickled Veggie Jar. It had a great variety of brussel sprouts, onions, radishes, and more that were deliciously pickled. Unfortunately, it took over 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive, so we ended up eating half of this just waiting for our food. Carbonnade Flamande: My husband ordered this braised short rib stew served over mashed potatoes. The beef itself was very good, but the portion of meat was very small compared to the mountain of mashed potatoes. It tasted nice, but for $26, we expected a bit more meat. Moules Frites: I got the mussels cooked in broth, served with duck fat fries and crostinis. The mussels were plentiful and the broth was very flavorful. Overall, the food was decent but the fries were the absolute best part of everything we ordered and everything is on the pricey side. The service didn't really stand out either. There was no reassurance or update on why our food was taking so long. Plus, water was never served automatically, and when I finally asked for some, our server only brought one glass even though we were a party of two. This was not worth the $100 we spent on dinner and I don't think I would find myself back here.

When you want a hardy meal, a good beer or cocktail, and ambience for a good chat....this is the place to go! Indoor and outdoor seating. Seating near people or far away from people. My favorite was the pretzel! My friend and I got so full just off of appetizers. Will be going back!

Came on a Saturday night at 545, told it's a 30 minute wait but we were able to find bar seats. The inside looked very cozy with a variety of seating options. Nice place to chill but not the best food. Hamburger was okay, fries a little soggy and the fish and chips were not flavorful. Overall disappointed in the food but liked the ambiance . I ordered a cocktail and it was a bit too sweet for me . My husband tried 2 different beers.

West Coast Tripel. I'd recommend it.

Beer here is great. Lots to choose from. Seating can be difficult though. Parking can be sparse but we've kicked everyone we came here. Food was good enough. We were even lucky enough to bring our dog!

My friend and I came by for dinner. She previously been here for Oktoberfest. Very lively place. We opted to sit outside, have some non-alcoholic beverages, a couple of appetizers and enjoy the nice weather. We had the following: *Jake is a non-alcoholic cocktail - really good. I enjoyed the citrus flavors. We later found out this was named after our waiter and another non-alcohol drink was named after his wife. So cute! * ATLÉTICA Copper - my friend wanted another non-alcoholic brew but was accidentally given this one. She didn't like it. It wasn't to her taste. *Large Pretzel - served with spicy mustard and pub cheese. Good and really big portion. *Croquettes - Mashed potatoes with roasted jalapeño, crispy bacon & cheddar cheese. They were tasty! *Scotch Egg - Soft-boiled egg wrapped in ground sausage & breadcrumbs and fried. We both like this. Delicious! *Duck fat fries - traditional. I accidentally ordered traditional even tho we wanted the Parmesan & Cheese one. We were both a tad disappointed that we didn't taste much Duck fat. Overall, lively place, good vibes, friendly and chill servers. Located on Vernon and Washington Blvd.

Came here on a busy Saturday just a few minutes after they opened, there was already a line and I was able to get a seat at the bar. I ordered a pint of the Vernon Street Lager ($7) and the fish and chips ($22). The fish and chips had a slightly sweet flavor to them, which was unique. It came with duck fat fries, which were great, some coleslaw, a lemon wedge, and some sort of aoli and tartar sauce. I also got some ketchup and malt vinegar on the side. Everything came out tasting fresh and would try other things on the menu. It came out to $32 + tip.

I've been coming to Monks Cellar for a few years now and wow!! The food is incredible, my fave appetizer is the pretzel! The bar tenders are amazing and always make anything I've ordered great. The whisky options...10/10! Recently I went for Oktoberfest and had so much fun! Definitely will be returning for the music and vibes again!

Came here on the way back from Reno. Cute brewery. Besides beer they do have food. Also non-alcoholic beverages. Got the Reuben sandwich with garlic fries. Garlic fries were super yummy. Perfect crunch and not too much garlic. The fish and chips were good too- didn't have too much batter like some places. We sat outside under the patio with the doggies. They have several heaters so it was fine. The waiter was always checking up on us which was nice since we were the only ones out in the patio. Got a quick peak of the inside while headed to the bathroom. It's really nice inside. Lots of space and tables.

A fabulous chocolate mousse. Love the whipped cream is on the bottom.

We were out looking for a happy hour and decided to stop at Monks since we had not been there for a while. We sat at the bar and I was looking for a cocktail while hubby wanted a beer. I ordered the I Love Scotch, Scotchy, Scotch, Scotch and it was tasty and interesting. I ordered the Croque Madam with duck fat fries (they have the best) and hubby ordered the grilled cheese and soup. Both were delicious. Tried a 10 Years of Vernon to finish out the meal. The bartenders are always friendly and knowledgeable about their cocktails. Staff are always helpful and friendly.

This review is based solely on the beer at Monks Cellar. I did not try the food. This is a restaurant but they also have their brewing setup on display inside. Very cool vibes but more upscale than a typical brewery. I stopped in around 7:30pm for a few beers and ended up grabbing a flight. It's not on their menu but they can do taster pours for about $2-3 each. After my initial round of tasting, I really enjoyed the dark Mexican lager with great toasty malt flavor and the pale ales were also great. I decided to try out their barrel aged beers as well. My god, this is where they shine here. The barrel aged sours here are incredible. Some of the best I've had. I ended up talking to one of the restaurant partners, Paul, and he told me about their open fermentation system and unique white wine barrel that they've used for years to barrel age Belgian classics. This is a MUST TRY in Roseville for any true beer lover. Get the barrel aged stuff. I head the food is good too!

Making a reservation by phone is super easy and staff is very friendly. The owner, Al Santos, calls back to discuss further details and confirms the order which I think is such a plus especially in a world where everything is digital. We can't say enough about Al's hospitality! And the fact that he is from Niles, we loved supporting a Bay Area native! Our reservations of usually 30 or more are ready for us when we come in - Al made sure there was a table for the team and then separate ones for the parents. They also accommodate different checks - not individual ones which is difficult but we batch together orders to make it easier on the staff. Drinks are solid and pour on the cocktails solid to generous based on what everyone received. Wait staff is friendly and attentive even when the rest of the restaurant is busy. Food is solid as well. We never felt rushed during our times there. The establishment is clean, has a nice atmosphere and offers outside seating as well. And if Al is there, he'll always come over and say hi and ask how things are going- definitely something we appreciate and it's what sets Goose Port apart! If you're looking for a place to accommodate a big party with good food and drinks choices - this place is an awesome spot!

I opted for a hamburger and went with the San Francisco burger, which was 1/3 pound patty on sourdough with lettuce, tomato, and all the fixings. The burger itself was delicious and the fries honestly were some of the best I ever had with a beautiful crunch to them. The drinks were good and they had a very special vodka served at happy hour, so I had a vodka tonic, and it was delicious. The atmosphere is really cool and they have a pool table isolated in a little open room. They also have a patio which is shaded due to the way the sun sets, so it's beautiful, especially in the summer. They have live music and an open mike on Wednesday nights which I would've loved to stayed and listen to because we were here on a Wednesday night but just a little too early as it goes from 7 to 9. Definitely will come back to hear some other night. Parking can be a little fragile in downtown Roseville although there are plenty of public parking spaces if you're willing to walk a block or two. Overall, the building is set in old town, Roseville so the overall atmosphere in downtown has that iconic old Roseville feel. Based on the atmosphere, food quality and drink quality overall rating a 4.5 I will be back.

There seemed to be lots of regulars at the bar who were waiting on her to come back from wherever she disappeared to. We came in around 430 and waited for about 10 minutes before she finally came to the bar and one of the regulars pointed at us for her to help us. We should have just left... she seemed off just from the first "how are you?" We decided to stay and give it a try. We all have bad days, right? So we ordered two beers on draft and their homemade potato chips. She stumbled her reply and said "just chips?" I said yep. We grabbed our beers from her and sat at a table. Right after that, we watched her take a big shot someone bought for her. We waited and waited and waited for our chips. Then Stevie took another break and went to vape out the front door - which she blew like at the door and it all came inside. She went outside and stayed out there for about 10 min or so just vaping - then came back in with food trash. We've been waiting about 30 min at this point for chips and we were going to order another beer and other food. My husband was standing at the bar for at least 10 min waiting to order. A friend of hers or a regular, whatever he was, went slightly behind the counter to get a beer from the fridge and just told her he was getting it. When Stevie finally came back behind the bar someone bought her another huge shot and she went to their table to chug it. At this point she was stumbling and looked very out of it. One of the regulars shook his glass and said I've been waiting about 20 min for refill. Another friend of the bartender just laughed and said yeahhhh. We were beyond annoyed and my husband as politely as he could, asked for our card back and she slurred out "what's the last name?" Got the card and went to sign the receipt- my husband said you never even put in our chips. She acted so confused. He's like remember? We ordered chips? She just stared at him like a deer in the headlights. What a mess. You shouldn't allow your employees to chug shots while working. This was before 5pm. I understand you have friends and are very well loved by everyone there which is great, but there is NO customer service here. Not even the regulars sitting at the bar get it. We tried to give this place a shot after years of passing by and we were interested in the food. The place was clean and they had a cool little dj booth in the corner. It's decorated like a sports bar... unfortunately we won't be back and I will discourage anyone from going here. There was a guy in the kitchen who seemed to care how she was acting and he apologized many times for her behavior and offered to make us free chips- we accepted but ended up leaving before because of Stevie. There was another older man there that cleaned the tables up and helped deliver food - not sure if he was the owner, he was drinking a beer behind the bar when we showed up and eating something- if he was the owner, he should watch how much his bartenders are drinking on the job. That could get messy.. good luck.
