I can always rely on a tasty treat at the Coral Gables farmers market from this vendor!! The Rugelachs are always delicious! Our favorite is the orange and chocolate. The pizza breads are also very tasty. The owner is always very friendly and a joy to visit with. Today was the last day of the Coral Gables farmers market for the season, so now we will have to get our rugelachs and breads from him at the Pinecrest farmers market on Sundays. It's not as close, but it's much closer than his bakery in Fort Lauderdale! The Pinecrest farmers market is lovely as well and worth the drive. read more

I've been coming here on and off for years. This is such a cute little bakery with very limited seating, so of course most people get take out. Le Vinois has delicious croissants, soups, quiche, and sandwiches. My favorite thing (among many) is their amazing zucchini cauliflower soup. It is SO good! I also love how friendly the owner and staff are. Parking at this place is sufficient as it's in a strip shopping center, but it's hopping at lunch time, so expect to wait if you go at peak times. Oh La La! What a delicious surprise this French bakery turned out to be. If I hadn't read reviews I would never have even know Le Vinois was here. It is tucked back in the nondescript Corporate Park Plaza which is located behind Chili's on Powerline Rd. According to them they are "an artisanal french bakery where everything is made from scratch at our location! Most recipes are the fruits of 3 generations of french bakers leaving in the french Alps. We have been in business for more than 10 years, the past 6 years at our current location on Powerline, you can also find us at the farmers market in Miami Coral Gables." I need to help them with writing their history. I am not sure what French bakers leaving in the French Alps means. I think they mean living. They have a small dining room so you can dine in or take out. The menu offers a variety of French sandwiches and salads but I came in to try their baked goods. I was hoping to find some of their mini pastries but I didn't see any. Actually it didn't look like there was much of a selection but that could be because I was coming in an hour before closing. I ended up with a $12 box of pastries that included two chocolate croissants, an almond croissant, and a brownie bite. The 5 stars for Le Vinois is because those croissants were out of the world. The only way they could have been better is if I had been eating them in Paris with the Eiffel Tower in the background. I just had to close my eyes and pretend. Flaky, buttery, and sweet re just some of the words that come to mind to describe them. That brownie bite was pretty darn good too. I am always delighted to find a French restaurant. I discovered this place by accident. While having coffee at Calusa Coffee Roasters, Francis delivered pastry to them and I was able to try their almond croissant. So, so glad I did and had to get more. I saw the name on the back of his T-shirt and looked it up. Went to his bakery the next day and got the Paris baguette sandwich with brie cheese and it was so delicious. The baguette just came out of the oven and was still warm. And of course, I had another Almond Croissant, but this time with chocolate. Heaven! I had a nice conversation with Francis and plan to go there anytime I visit here again. I use to work by this bakery and would frequent it for lunch & breakfast. I no longer work nearby and boy do I miss it here! I use to get the Lyon sandwich all the time. Half is all you need, their portion sizes are huge! Their food is very fresh. I was slightly addicted to their almond croissants at one point. My absolute favorite thing of theirs is the brownies. If you like fudgey brownies, you will LOVE them! First off, again, the portion size is huge so although it's $4, you get your money's worth. The inside of the brownies are super soft, fudgey and chocolately while the top of the brownies have that nice kind of "crust" to it which gives it great texture. They are hands down the best brownies I've ever had. In the past, more times than I would like to admit, I have driven out of my way to buy just one brownie. The only negative thing is sometimes the brownies are not that fresh. Every now and then you can tell they were cooked 2-3 days prior. When they are like this, they are not that good bc the inside hardens & is no longer fudgey. I recommend calling before going and asking when the brownies were baked. If you're lucky and they say the same day, grab your keys & go! read more

This tiny french bakery is nestled in a busy strip by Chinese, Thai, and Italian restaurants plus it's behind a Burger King and a Chilis! There are only 4 tables inside and two outside so it does a big take out business. We were lucky enough to get an open table inside. You order at the counter from the menu on the wall. Half sandwiches are fine especially if you're adding soup. I tried their Lyon half sandwich which was grilled chicken, Brie, Mayo, wasabi dressing, lettuce and tomato. I opted for no wasabi and chose the ciabatta bread (they have several -- from Olive to multigrain or baguette). The cheese was melty warm and the bread was fresh fresh fresh --soft on the bottom and floury on the top. Plenty of white chicken breast. Hubby did half a marseille -- tuna with a bit of apples and onions in with the mayo plus lettuce and tomato. Tuna was wet enough that he didn't have to add extra mayo! We shared a cup of their soup of the day -- carrot potato. It was creamy (she said they make it with milk) and served hot, but a bit rich so we took most of it home for a later snack. Go if only for the breads. The case of pastries were calling our name too -- luckily we couldn't decide between the eclair or the cream puff or the apple tart or the... that we decided to be good and skip desert. He called back and was met with an unhelpful response. That aside, I thought the food was pretty good!! My broccoli quiche was squishy soft in the center and toasty crunchy on the edges. There was lots of flavor for my taste buds and the broccoli pieces were in every bite. The salad it came with had a nice balsamic vinegarette dressing and also had a side of olive oil in a container. The chocolate mousse cake was light and airy. Crunchy chocolate topping, semi sweet creme in the center. I had half of my friend's sandwich the next day so I can't give it an 100% accurate rating but for second day, soggy bread sandwich, it was still very good!! The minute you walk in you're greeted with a wide display of French pastries, that happen to be HUGE! I knew that minute, whatever I ordered, not only would it be delicious but it would be authentic. Just based on visual appeals I ordered 2 chocolate chip cookies and 1 large chocolate croissant. Remember when I said HUGE? Well the cookies themselves were about the size of two large turds! Yes, turds...like your neighborhood dog took a giant dump. It's honestly the only way I could describe them in size. But no worries, the taste resembled nothing like a turd. These cookies were perfectly sweet and very biscuit-like in texture. Although I wished they were more chewy, I definitely didn't regret ordering them. Now to the good stuff, the chocolate croissant! Again, this baby was giant. But oh my goodness was it a masterpiece! Super light and flaky exterior, with warm semi-sweet chocolate chips inside; this croissant was absolutely a YESS HONEY for me. Topped off with a light brushing of simple syrup, I couldn't resist myself. Le Vinois transported me back to France with their delicious pastries. Ok, 20 minutes later and I feel compelled to write my review immediately..it was that good!! 4.5 stars really...but the sandwich was amazing! Le Vinois has been on my radar for about a month or so thanks to fellow yelper Greg B. I'm often avoiding carbs so I was waiting for a good day where I needed bread to try this place. Today was not that day lol, I'm not hungover and really I should have just gotten a salad elsewhere but I saw a review for Le Vinois go by on my nearby feed this morning and figured it was a sign. I don't know if there is a God, and I certainly don't know if he would waste time talking to me, but if he/she/it does exist clearly talking to me through Yelp would be the way to go lol. First off, I already knew Le Vinois was in the plaza with Chili's but it wasn't easy to spot as they didn't have a large sign up above. The sign for CLEANERS is right above them. I entered around 11:30am wanting to beat a crowd that didn't exist, but that was good because I was able to talk to the owner about the menu and really figure out what I wanted. I ended up going with the Lyon sandwich and subbed out the wasabi for mustard since I hate wasabi. They visually offered me several baked bread choices and I went with the ciabatta. Full size sandwiches are ~$8. They also have displays of pastries and since the macarones were only $1.95 I went ahead and got two. One was for Steven C. but in the interest of writing my yelp review right now I thought it best to eat them both in the name of research. Seven or so minutes later I was on my way and headed back to the office to eat. I was shocked when I opened the container and saw how big it was!! Needless to say I had to eat it all in one go because it was that good, but really a person could get away with ordering a half size. The bread was delicious, the brie was superb and although the sandwich had the tendency to fall apart and get all over my face, I'm still giving it 5 stars. The macarones were so so. A little smaller than I'm used to, but also cheaper ($1.95) so I think it all worked out. I tried the lavender and the pistachio and the flavors themselves were wonderful, but the overall texture didn't seem quite right to me. Wow. This may be my favorite sandwich ever, I can't believe it took me so long to get here, I have been missing out. I went into Le Vinois for lunch on a Friday a little before noon. I was the only person inside and it seemed they were still getting things set up a little, but I was helped immediately and placed my order for the Monaco sandwich: fresh mozzarella, tomato, pesto, and balsamic. You can chose from an array of fresh breads, and I went with the garlic (not buttery garlic bread, but fresh bread with garlic baked in). The sandwich was ready quickly and when I took a bite, I was in heaven! To start, the bread is amazing, soft and fresh and chewy. If you are going to eat bread, eat good bread, and this is it. The contents of the sandwich were just as yummy as the bread. The ingredients were super fresh. The mozzarella was heavenly with a pillowy rich texture, the pesto had the perfect oil/basil blend, and the balsamic gave the sandwich just the right amount of tang. My biggest issue at this point is how I can somehow avoid eating here every day. Aside from the sandwiches they offer soup, which although I didn't try it, the Friday I was there it was potato leek...sounds perfect. They also offer a flatbread pizzas, but from the looks of them these breads were far from flat, and if they are anywhere near as good as the sandwich bread it must be the best flatbread pizza ever. There is also an assortment of desserts and pastries. I took my food to go, but the atmosphere here is very cute and everything was very clean. I have already told my boyfriend we need to stop in for lunch so we can order more than one thing and I can expand my knowledge of the menu. Prices here are reasonable. I was looking at the "nearby" feed in my Yelp iPhone app. a couple of days ago and noticed a Yelper wrote a review on Le Vinois Bakery, which is in my neighborhood. I glossed through some of the reviews, which compelled me to make a visit on a Wednesday morning. I wanted to try a couple items that folks left tips on. So, I ordered breakfast and lunch. For breakfast, I ordered a ham and cheese on a croissant roll, as well as an almond croissant filled with chocolate cream. Loved it. Very delicious. Can't wait to try variations of it. The ham and cheese? It was just okay. For lunch, I ordered The Frenchy, which includes ham and salami, with swiss, lettuce, tomato, mustard and mayo on French bread. The French bread I selected was topped with cheese. I made the mistake of ordering the full size, which for me was way too much, but likely perfect for those with a hardy appetite. I ate one half for lunch and at the second half for dinner. My bill came out to $17, which for a day's worth of meals was well worth the price. The food is truly wonderful. The folks that I sit near at my job were asking questions, and I was more them happy to provide them with some background on Le Vinois Bakery, as well as a glowing endorsement. This place is great! Sam and I decided to be gluttons today and go to a bunch of cafés. Le Vinois just happened to be one of them. I am obsessed with croissants and their chocolate croissant was near perfect. I just wish it was a little flakier. We also tried their Napoleon, a lemon macaroon and a chocolate mousse. Sam loved the Napoleon. He literally couldn't stop shoving his face with it. The macaroon was also very tasty. The chocolate mousse was fantastic! Not too sweet and the ganache was perfectly rich- just the way I like it. The owner was also very friendly and even let us try some of the white chocolate mousse he was making! Best quiche I've had, hands down. Flaky crust and crunchy top with soft, fluffy, egg and asparagus filling. The vegetable soup was made from locally sourced farmers market veggies and tasted divine.
