I used Leaders in 2014 when I moved into my old duplex, and they made that move so easy that I was sure I'd hire them again. So when I bought a house this spring, Leaders was a clear choice. I got cheaper quotes from another mover, but knowing the time that would be involved in my move, I felt better going with a mover who doesn't charge by the hour. In the end, I saved money. And I probably had a better quality experience. Duwan, Anton, and Will were a great team. They answered my many questions, took good care of my furniture and valuables, and moved things to the exact spots I wanted. They didn't mind when I changed my mind about a few spots either. It was some very warm days, so we are taking that into consideration, but they were very slow and damaged several of our furniture pieces. I recently used leaders to move my large furniture in a quick local move. The two movers who showed up were helpful. They were unable to move some pieces (that I still paid for) which was a little disappointing and I was also charged for a few pieces that we did not point to on the day of move (extra end table here and there). Overall a pretty good experience and would use them again if I ever need. A nice thing with this company is that they charge a flat rate/per piece and not per hour like many other companies in the area. read more

About ten days ago, August 1st, this company moved me locally. In the process the movers noticed a computer printer, not on inventory, said they could move it and would take good care of it. I allowed this, my huge mistake, because the printer was not on the inventory and did not get moved into the new residence. Have called the office many times, but no feedback given on their responsibility in this matter. E-mail to Mr. Stonestreet got no response. Owner Steven E claims this is a company you can trust. I was very disappointed in the estimating process, which consisted of asking me for a box count and exact furniture to be moved. I don't have a problem with the latter, but I could not remember from the time in storage how many boxes I had. The estimator only estimated 4 hours to load up a huge storage unit on their truck and have it unloaded at my new house. This was woefully short of what it should take, and I felt like I was going to be nickeled and dimed for every little thing. It's not the movers' fault, though; they were very sweet. I asked over the phone when I called for the estimate if I was going to be surprised with a higher bill, and I was assured that was not the case. read more

I asked if he has any partner companies they work with to help and JASON said "then I'd be referring to to my competitors" Offered no resolution, or to reschedule. Not reliable at all. My experience with Leaders Moving has been severely disappointing, and I would heavily advise everyone to review my experience with them before considering them to be your movers. On 1/7/2023 two movers show up to my house with their truck. The are very nice, and are taking inventory of my items. There were some items that were unintentionally left out of my list of items to take. One of the movers stated "please wait while I make a call to update your inventory". This was 100% okay with me as I had forgotten a few items. When he returned he stated "To move these additional items it will be an additional $202". I stated that was fine and not a problem at all. He then responded with "To help you, what I could do is tell my manager that we didn't move these items, we could just say your buddy came and moved them, and as long as you take care of us we can take care of you". Essentially he was asking that I pay him an undisclosed amount at that time instead of the additional balance being paid with the original invoice. Being asked this right when you are trying to move is stressful and awkward, so I just said yes I can do that but I don't have cash I can only Venmo. He gave me his username and I sent $200 (I wasn't trying to save money. I was trying to pay what I would have been invoiced for as it felt like the right thing to do). The move goes smoothly and both men are otherwise professional. Two days after my move, Leaders charges me the additional $202 that the movers had spoken about. I reach out to the employee of Leaders that asked me to pay him directly a total of three times, and I never receive a response. Feeling as though I was cheated out of $200, I call the Leaders office Tuesday, January 10th. I explain the entire situation to Danny (Leaders Operations Manager) and he apologizes for what has happened and asks me to email him a screenshot of the Venmo payment as proof, which I promptly do, where the screenshot also includes two comments I made on the payment where I was asking the Leaders employee to please refund the $200 as I was unfairly double charged. These comments stated the following: "Hey man, they charged me the full $878. It was going to be $676 and then I pay you the $200 but they charged me an extra $202 for the items that we were going to say that you didn't take... Are you able to send this back please?" "Hey (employee name), I would rather not involve Leaders Moving for this. Without hearing back from you I am beginning to feel like I was taken advantage of. You seemed like a nice guy so I'm trying to not assume that's what happened." Danny (Leaders Operations Manager) says to me that he received the photos and was going to take immediate corrective action. He stated "I will call you either today or tomorrow to let you know what we can do about the money you've lost due to this occurrence". I thank him and tell him I'll look for his call. Tuesday finishes, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday all pass. I send an email to Danny (Leaders Operations Manager) which reads as follows: "Danny, I'm concerned regarding where this lies now. I was referred to Leaders Moving & Storage by a very loyal previous customer of yours. I've informed this referral source of my experience and they are shocked that we stand where we do now. My experience with Leaders Moving & Storage went from great, to okay, to very poor at this moment. On Tuesday afternoon you said you'd be in touch with me no later than Wednesday. It is now Saturday morning and I still have yet to receive any updates from Leaders Moving & Storage, nor the additional $200 that I was misled to pay been refunded back to me..." Four hours after sending this email to Danny (Leaders Operations Manager), he calls me at 8:30 AM Saturday morning (1/14). He starts by saying he's read my email and wants to follow up with me on two things. Firstly, he states that the situation with the employee has been handled and that he ensures me that it will no longer happen again moving forwards. Secondly, and this was the heavy hitter, he says due to my chosen verbiage in my Venmo comments (referring to me saying "we were going to say...") that I was "conspiring to defraud Leaders Moving & Storage". He then follows by saying that because that is how I wrote my comment, that Leaders Moving has no responsibility to rectify the monetary damages (mind you this all originated by a Leaders employee that was on duty and speaking on behalf of the company). After being wronged by a representative of the company, this is how Leaders treated me. Just thought others should know how they operate. It's also pretty clear that Danny (Leaders Operations Manager) didn't want his response to my email in writing as he did never responded to my email but instead responded to it only over the phone, and that alone should be enough to make you super wary of how this company conducts itself. read more

Absolutely worst moving company we have ever used. If we could give negative stars we would. The guys were very unprofessional and were in a rush. They did not pack methodically but rather just grabbed items and threw them in. They broke multiple of our items including dishes and mirrors purely from not paying attention to boxes and items labeled fragile. They even broke all our tuff boxes! Since it wasn't their truck we were using it felt as though they didnt care how they packed because they wouldn't be the ones unloading it. The GM has been completely unhelpful and not willing to rectify the situation or hold anyone accountable. He will not acknowledge the damage done or hold any responsibility. what a great company to deal with, right? I had to reach out every time to get answers because he would not get back to me. Save yourself money, headaches, and stress and literally go with anyone else. There is no way the 5 star reviews are genuine But rather probably swayed by the offer of a discount. Don't be fooled. I specifically hired movers so that the expensive bedroom set wouldn't have this issue. I have never hired movers, have always done it myself and I would never hire this company again. We used them since they provided the lowest estimate. We did not know how they would raise the costs once they had you in the moving process. They do not provide specific item inventory like others movers so they raise the number of "Boxes" as they load the trucks. They push their loaders where they are running with items getting broken. They do not voluntarily inform you when they break something. You have to catch them and send them photos after they leave. We just found an antique desk they had placed moving tape to hold a leg on the desk they had broken and never told us. We had not seen it until now since they placed it in a corner that was not easily seen. We requested they repair it and they denied it since we did not find it until now even though they should have disclosed it to us at the time of the move. They did not use moving pads to protect furniture. We found items in our original home they had broken and hid in a basement corner we had to call them on it. They blamed their staff instead of accepting accountability. Items were missing that we could not define since they did not inventory each item/box. They claimed it was our word against theirs. The price went from an initial estimate of $5400 to $7100 through 3 price changes as they loaded our items. Without approving each increase they would stop loading if we did not agree to each increase. Stay away so you do not get burned like we did. I have used many other movers in the past so I know what to expect. read more

My experience with this company was terrible. Found the company through Angie's List & thought I had found a decent moving company. Making an appointment went smoothly w/ quick follow-ups. Moving Day, however, was a nightmare: -Movers brought no tools to take apart beds, actually had to BORROW tools from another moving company that was moving someone else in my complex. -Used no protective wraps, blankets, etc to cover floors (from their uncovered, snow/muddy shoes), walls, furniture, etc. -Got stuck on my street & blocked it 30 minutes, which was snow covered, but still able to navigate, the other delivery trucks had no issues. -My 1950's original, wood floors weren't covered and damaged by metal bed frames being flung around. -Contacted the salesperson who I originally spoke with, about all of these issues. He states I could pay the $100 deductible to have the floors fixed, when I inquired further, stating I wasn't looking for them to repair my floors (I would rather do it myself) but only wanted to let them know, he never responded in return. Clearly, I would NOT recommend this company for your moving needs. read more

These guys were beyond my expectations and within a reasonable range from five other moving quotes I received. MOVING OUT: I have moved many times, within the city, state to stars and cross country. There is always a a lead guy - and the lead guy always rocks. But their team is rotated and some times fill in muscles. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE HERE - the Leader Lead a solid team! Jeff Arnett was the lead mover in my case. The amount of respect he showed his team was reflected in the can do attitude of his team (Jeff Bentley, Will and Brandon). When I moved in to this house, the other guys used so much bad language (I felt uncomfortable), they guys were respectful of my presence. Our Chest of drawers was a BEAST and they took it as a challenge to get it out - they did it with grace (seriously, I was flabbergasted). They were HONEST: my bill turned out $500 less than estimated (but that was also because I packed smart and moved fragile items to my sisters house). They were FAST: they were in by 9 and done by 12. QUOTE: the guy quoting me was good. I told him not to bother giving me a storage quote because I thought I did my homework and I thought PODS were cheaper. But he insisted to allow him to just give the quote and I could choose whichever was better for me. Turned out, LEADERS were comparable to PODS but they were responsible for broken/damaged items, and I had CLIMATE CONTROL STORAGE! So it was worth it to go with Leaders. TIPPING: I do not know their guidelines on tipping, but I wish I had more cash on me because I would have tipped them more. I had low expectations and they blew it out of the water. I got quotes from 3 moving companies, and this was the only one that sent somebody (Andrew) to visit in person and give me a specific quote. Five men (Will, DaVon, Ben, Alex, and Wolfgang) packed and loaded all of my belongings quickly and efficiently. Nothing was broken, nothing was lost, and everything is in its place in my new apartment. They were polite, respectful, and very helpful the entire time. Highly recommended. read more

My initial enounters were good, and I got a good price for my move to Chicago. However, once the day of the move arrived, problems arose. The two men handling the move were rude and complained the entire time. They broke the leg off an antique curio cabinet, lost shelves and pins to 2 bookcases, and scratched and dented several items. At one point, one of the movers threw a box onto my gas stove and turned on a burner almost starting a fire. I've had to replace the bookcases, and they only offered me $50 for the loss. Their solution to the curio cabinet was to hire a contractor who could only come during my work hours. I wound up having to fix it myself. I would never use Leaders again. While they were responsive with getting a quote and calling the day before to provide the window of arrival on the actual day they NEVER showed up and NEVER called. The front office tried calling the managers on duty and could not get through. She provided me with their numbers and I called numerous time, left voicemails and texts and got NO response. In fact, they waited until Monday (2 days later) at noon to call me for the first time to see if I still needed their service. I had to be out of my house that day and was left with no other option than to get my own storage unit and move myself. I have nothing but ABSOLUTELY GREAT things to say about this moving company. I had to schedule my move in a very last minute kind of situation and it was right before the thanksgiving holiday. I called the company late on Saturday and Devon answered the phone and was absolutely amazing. He didn't once make me feel like I'm calling right before they closed on a Saturday. He was very patient with me and he did a phone walk-through to decide on inventory and preliminary quote. He was very prompt and very professional every time we emailed or talked. When I went to pick up the boxes I just so happened to be incredibly sick that day and I called the office and spoke to Jason who was ever so kind to let me drop by before they closed. He was also super kind and patient. He helped me decide how many boxes I should start off with based on the inventory Devon wrote. He reiterated what Devon told me about their awesome deal where you can return your used boxes and get 80% back, just don't write on them write on the tape! You also RENT not buy closet boxes! Jason even helped me carry the boxes to my car and load it up since I was so sick. On the day of the move Tony and Rich arrived within the timeframe they promised. These guys were awesome to work with. They were meticulous, patient and very gentle with my belongings. They were very cautious to not cause any damage in the apartment I left or the house I moved into. It was so cold and rainy that day and I'm super OCD and Rich and Tony had no problem prepping the house and even took their shoes off everytime they stepped on the fresh carpets. They were fun and kind. Respectful men with great work ethics. Devon checked in several times during the day and I loved that. All in all this company gets 5 stars from me. Their rates are very realistic and reasonable. My final moving fees were actually lower than proposed inventory because my s.o. and I moved things as well and Tony was constantly updating Devon to keep the inventory as accurate and fair as possible. I still have to unpack but I'm honestly not worried because they were very gentle with my belongings the whole way through. Moving trucks may seem to be the most reasonable solution to move but in our experience, it takes several trips over two days and the amount spent on miles and gas in rediculous. Most moving companies charge per hour of work and a minimum of 3 hours. Leaders moving charges by inventory. Which makes more sense to me and makes me much less anxious on how long everything is taking. These guys moved my one bedroom apartment on the second floor 25 miles away to a two bedroom town house in just 2.5 hours! They sent two men and the largest truck i have ever seen and they were extremely professional. Due to timing issues signing our new lease, we were not home when they arrived at the old place and were happy to wait for us for 20 minutes and then when we arrived at the new place we didn't yet have our keys and they were glad to wait another 10 minutes. I'm so glad we chose this company. They have a guaranteed quote system so when you call for a quote they get your inventory it's not going to change. They double checked the inventory and quote when they came into the apartment. We forgot a couple things and they didn't even charge us for adding it to the truck. And they really do read the labels on the boxes, so they put the kitchen boxes in the kitchen. One thing I advise, they cannot transfer any chemicals or cleaning fluids and if you have things without lids, like laundry baskets, they won't move those either because there is no way to secure them in the truck, so pack these in your car. This was my first time using a moving company but my fifth time moving in the last three years. The money you spend is absolutely worth it. You're not sore or exhausted and it doesn't take the entire weekend to move and you don't have to worry about finding someone to help you move either. I recommend these guys to everyone and will definitely be using them next time. read more

Absolutely terrible experience! They damaged multiple items and even left items in their storage facility when I moved to my final destination. They failed to wrap banisters so they scrapped my appliances as well. I've never seen a company move your items and not use inventory stickers to know what you have. Doing a second move within 4 months is stressful but having such a great crew makes it a bit easier. This was a bitter cold day and they had no complaints. Unlike a previous review, the movers had all they needed to take apart and protect things. They worked hard and fast, were friendly and helpful, and accommodated our needs. We have found a few things with scratches and dents unfortunately. The biggest loss is a missing wheel from an expensive desk chair that has yet to turn up 8 days after the move.
