First off, I'd like to say this was my first time doing any kind of winter tour or operating any kind of winter vehicle, so I was pretty excited to try this out! The UTVs were awesome! Booking The Tour: Super easy. Select the quantity of vehicles you want, the day, the time, and you're done. I booked online and received a confirmation email shortly after. Day Of The Tour: If you are traveling to Leadville, especially from Denver, I highly recommend checking travel times the night before AND early the morning of. Travel times can definitely fluctuate! Fridays Saturdays and Sundays are definitely busy times to be traveling in that direction, so I'd recommend planning to where you arrive in Leadville at least an hour early and just explore the town to kill time. The UTV: I had a fully enclosed UTV with heat, which would make for an extremely comfortable ride during the bitter cold. Thankfully, my tour happened to be on a 41-degree day, so it wasn't needed. The UTV was also incredibly spacious, clean, comfortable, and easy to operate. It was just like driving a car. The Tour: Our tour guide was Carson, a very friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous guide. The tour was small, which made for a more personal experience. It had a total of two groups in two separate vehicles, four people in total, including the guide: I had one vehicle to myself, and another couple had the other. We all met at the office 30 minutes prior to the start of the tour to sign some typical safety paperwork and then began the tour, which started right from the office. I can't remember how many stops we made throughout the tour, probably because I just got lost in the beautiful scenery, but they were ALL WORTH IT! At each stop, the guide went over some history of the location, answered questions, and allowed ample time for photos and offered to take photos for us as well, and most importantly, brought out the hot chocolate! Ending Thoughts: Overall, a 5 out of 5 experience. I definitely enjoyed it and would recommend this tour to anyone interested!

Wonderful experience from beginning to ending. Tour guy was a very knowledgeable outdoor enthusiast and made sure we were all taken care of the whole trip. Way cheaper than most of these other companies here and we got to see some beautiful sites, have some fun in the snow, and learn a bunch about Colorado wilderness and Leadville itself. 10/10 would recommend anyone to give it a go, way more fun than I thought it would be

We had an awesome time trekking through a fresh 10 inches of powdery snow on our personal guided tour. So beautiful, and the guide was exceptionally friendly and explained exactly what was going to happen

While on vacation in Colorado, we wanted to explore nature by renting a UTV. But because we are novices we decided to go on a guided tour instead! Brandon was a great guide, and host giving us lots of mining and Leadville history, beautiful views , and offered to take pictures that will last a lifetime! Enjoy the views, enjoy the splashes, take lots of pictures, just don't take anything from nature! As our guide informed us, it may take years for some of the native plants to grow and bloom. Dress for the outdoors,as if you are hiking, it gets very dusty! Take a jacket, but if you forget they do offer goggles, coats, helmets, rain jackets for a small fee. The UTV's are maintained well, you are provided a walkie-talkie if anything arises during the tour, seatbelts keep you in your seat, and anyone under 18 MUST wear a helmet( which are provided). When you book online you are able to put your tip for your guide prior to tour as a convenience, but you are also able to give your guide a tip after the tour in cash, cash app, or Venmo!Overall , great fun for the price. Def recommend!

The tour was awesome. Guide was amazing. Shout out to Carson for making it a great experience. I'm definitely doing this again.

This was my favorite day of vacation! Leadville UTV Tours is the tour company to use if you are planning an off road adventure. Our tour guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. We were taken through some beautiful terrain and learned so much about what we were seeing. We will definitely use them the next time we are in Leadville, CO.

Unfortunately, we had made an honest mistake and accidentally booked it for the following week--when we would no longer be in town. We immediately contacted the business while we were at the location, explained the situation, and asked about a refund or reschedule. We were told we could receive a refund minus a 7.5% fee--roughly $30--for "processing." When we kindly asked for a full refund, the staff member not only refused but claimed that because she had to be on the phone and "click a button," we had now cost the business money. She stood firm that no matter the situation, a 100% refund would not be given. It's one thing to have a policy. It's another to treat a customer's good faith mistake with zero flexibility and then blame the cost of customer service on them. We didn't use any equipment, take anyone else's spot, or cancel last minute--we simply misread the date and immediately tried to make it right. $30 is a small amount, but it speaks volumes about how this company handles honest errors. We will absolutely book with another adventure company next time we're in Winter Park--one that values people over rigid policy and doesn't treat a polite refund request like an inconvenience.

Summary of…read moreour experience in late Sept 2024: We reserved a 2 person Honda Talon S2 ATV the day prior and a follow up text was provided. I let the business know we were new to the area and just wanted an easy trail to see the fall colors. I was assured that the trail recommended was a good fit and they said maps and waypoints would be provided (also stated on the website). We arrived 10 min before the appointment time (7:30 AM) and there was no one there. I texted the owner and then they sent someone who arrived just before 8:00 AM. The employee (Christian) would not provide us any maps or waypoints for the recommended trail. He said it was simple to navigate, well-marked and no maps existed. We argued about this, but he said he could do nothing. I have done many off-road trails in places like Moab, Utah and California, waypoints based on mileage or simple maps are always provided. In the end I took his word. He said it was a large loop of about 30 miles and easily done in a half day. My concerns: - The employee told us he would take 10% off for the late release at 8:20 AM and add an extra hour to the rental. I did not look closely at the receipt since we were in a rush and noticed later that we were charged full price which did not include stated discount. - The tow vehicle had an 1/8 of tank of fuel - not enough to cover the tow distance. We had to waste time to fuel it on the way to the trail head. - The ATV was not prepped for us. Dirty, dusty, muddy. - As suspected, the trail was not well marked. There were at least 4 unclear intersections with some markings (like #200, 200A) but this is meaningless without a map. I could not download a map myself the night before. One turn led us up a 3 mile dead-end spur to a radio tower. - We checked in with the person that rented the ATV to us, showed him our location on GPS and he said we were fine. - A few miles later, we ended up at a dead end at a fire road about 20 miles from start. The employee told us we were in the wrong place and told us to back track all the way back (vs. an intended loop). - We missed our return time but were not charged extra. The ATV was mechanically good, high quality and newer but clearly not prepped for a new customer. We saw amazing fall colors. The duration of trip was longer than we expected and had to rush the return since an expected loop turned into an out-and-back. We didn't feel heard when dealing with the employee. He also did not honor the discount and said to call the owner about the fuel cost and concerns. Two email attempts were made to the owner (Carlos), and he never responded. Their service did match their website or phone conversations. I find it nuts that they will send a visitor into the back country without maps and make you feel stupid by claiming 'it is easy' and 'super well marked.' These areas have limited cell coverage, and you will be on your own if you get lost or have a mechanical issue. I would not use their services again - horrible customer service.

He tried to make us and the other groups checking in feel like idiots. He was rude and not helpful at all whenever we had questions. Not sure if he was having a bad morning or if that's just his personality, but he definitely needs a lesson on customer service..Especially whenever you're spending $450+ on the day. The owner, Carlos was SUPER nice and helpful and made up for it but he needs a new employee checking people in. The trails and UTV ride were amazing! We thoroughly enjoyed the day after we got checked in and got going. But again one person can ruin the whole morning!

There was plenty of snow way up in the mountains where the snowmobiles trails are. The views were breathtaking. Kim, our guide, treated us like family. Hi all! The…read moreAdventure Company was very professional from start to finish, and they were fun too. My family and I went rafting, and at that time, the Arkansas River was really high. There were some rapids that were very exciting, and the water was really cold, but it was funny for everyone else when I was getting soaked in the front. The water is COLD, but you get used to it pretty quickly. The rapids relaxed down in about 10 minutes, and it was a pretty smooth ride for the rest of journey. The total trip was about an hour and a half, which is a good time for younger kids. David was a great guide, and he was funny and entertaining, yet knowledgeable and passionate about many things adventure. He trained everyone in the raft the do-s and don't-s of rafting, and made sure everyone was prepared in case of emergency. He showed the techniques of how to maneuver the raft, and how to 'rescue' your buddy if they fell in. We had ages 7-57 in our group, and it was fun for everyone. If you are a beginner or have younger, more senior people in your group, I would suggest a level 1-2 experience. If you have a group of more confident, or medium-good physically fit people who like a bit more adventurous time, I would suggest a higher level of rapids. The rest of the staff in the office were very friendly, and the office and amenities were clean and organized. They had changing rooms, and clean guest bathrooms complete with showers if you so desire. They have free lockboxes for you to leave your keys or other valuables if you need. They offered picture packages, but allowed you to take whatever devices you wanted on the raft. They advise against it, and take no responsibility for your lost items, however, they did not prevent us from bringing them (we did not bring our devices). It was a little bit of a hike from Dillon, Frisco area. About 2 hours drive, but the scenery is amazing, and with good company, it makes an easy drive. You pass through some interesting towns on the way if you want to stop and get lunch or dinner! Overall, this was an awesome trip!
