Fun time snowmobiling today!
Tami C.

Adam was an AMAZING guide for our snowmobile tour!!! We did the afternoon 1/2 half day trip and the weather was perfect. Being able to free ride in the bowl, going through the wooded trails and flying down the open road paths were such FUN! Machines ran great, rental of clean goggles/boots/helmet was easy and convenient, I ABSOLUTELY recommend this place to everyone. 10 of 10. And we'll be back in July to try their ATV tour too!!

Snowmobile

This was the absolute best snowmobile rental in Colorado. No tour.with access to 65,000 acres. The final destination is a summit with an amazing view. Pictures don't do justice. The crew are absolutely the best friendliest people you can meet in Colorado.

Great views from Shrine Pass.

My wife and I rented a 2 seat RZR for the day out of Red Cliff. We made our reservation the day before, the day before, and Thomas could not have been more helpful. When we arrived at Red Cliff Mack treated us like we were old friends. He made the registration and safety review enjoyable. Once on the trail the scenery was beautiful and the riding was fun. The machine was comfortable, simple to operate, and more importantly, a blast to drive. Be sure to bring a lunch for a picnic and plenty of water. Don't forget a warm jacket as the weather can change quickly at the higher altitude. If your looking to get into the mountains, on your own, be sure to check out Rocky Mountain Adventure Rentals.

Happy husband in a RZR utv

My husband and I rented the RZR atv at Rocky Mountain Adventure Rental's Buena Vista location on a belated honeymoon trip in August. To say we had a great time would be an understatement. I don't think my husband stopped smiling the entire time he was in that thing. It was a major highlight of our trip. Check in was super easy (they even email you a safety video to watch before you arrive) and they had us drive to the trailhead so it was really quick and easy to leave and find some dinner before hitting the road back to Denver for the last night of our vacation. The one-on-one introduction to the vehicle was really helpful for me because I don't have much experience with those kind of vehicles. The whole thing felt like we were on our own little adventure. We were given a gps and a digital map and got to go explore the park which was so beautiful. We had a great time just getting lost and finding our favorite trails to ride. My husband was the primary driver but we switched off often and I definitely got more confident as the day went on and had a blast both as a driver and a passenger. My only regret is that we only did a half day rental. While it was totally worth it I would have loved to have brought a picnic or something for lunch and extended our adventure even longer.

Stan out of the Red Cliff location was great, knowledgeable, and some of the best customer service I've encountered in years.

Upon arrival we were met with a not so warm welcome from a man who claimed he was "closing for the day" he continued to interrogate us asking "who did we speak to" and "I've been here all day and no one called". I showed him the confirmation email showing it was paid for and confirmed at 11:00 am and he proceeded to say "well atleast I'm off for the next 2 days" and "well let's go because the sooner yall are done the sooner I can leave". We felt very awkward and unwelcomed but after driving an hour we were determined to have a good time. We did a self guided tour and before leaving we were handed a map and told we couldn't go up into mountains or on about 50% of the trails which we were not told before booking. We made the most of our 2 hours on flat land and were not able to find the waterfall. We got back and told him we were not able to find the waterfall looking for some clarification, but he could not have cared less and just told us to put our helmets back inside and leave. I understand wanting to leave for the day but when you work for tourists you should appreciate their business especially when you charge a lot for not even being able to go up in the mountains! Will not be recommending this place in the future.

He was correct! I also spoke to Christine at Western Adventures about any gear we might need. She is delightful and so helpful as everyone is with this company. There was plenty of snow way up in the mountains where the snowmobiles trails are. The views were breathtaking. Kim, our guide, treated us like family. She told us some interesting historical facts about the neighborhood as we drove up into the mountains where the snowmobiles are parked. We enjoyed taking advantage of their hot coco/refreshment hut located in the area where you can cut loose and have some free time driving your snowmobile. Thank you, Kim, and Western Adventures for making this a great family experience.

The UTV is in great shape, easy to drive, AT/MT, 4x4 or 2x4... super fun, after the trailer assembly was easy to secure and transportation back to Carlos, who received us back, checked the vehicles and helmets provided (they were sanitized BTW). At the end we took a few pictures since the whole experience was worth a detailed review. Keep up with fair prices, great customer service and quality equipment

Summary of…read moreour experience in late Sept 2024: We reserved a 2 person Honda Talon S2 ATV the day prior and a follow up text was provided. I let the business know we were new to the area and just wanted an easy trail to see the fall colors. I was assured that the trail recommended was a good fit and they said maps and waypoints would be provided (also stated on the website). We arrived 10 min before the appointment time (7:30 AM) and there was no one there. I texted the owner and then they sent someone who arrived just before 8:00 AM. The employee (Christian) would not provide us any maps or waypoints for the recommended trail. He said it was simple to navigate, well-marked and no maps existed. We argued about this, but he said he could do nothing. I have done many off-road trails in places like Moab, Utah and California, waypoints based on mileage or simple maps are always provided. In the end I took his word. He said it was a large loop of about 30 miles and easily done in a half day. My concerns: - The employee told us he would take 10% off for the late release at 8:20 AM and add an extra hour to the rental. I did not look closely at the receipt since we were in a rush and noticed later that we were charged full price which did not include stated discount. - The tow vehicle had an 1/8 of tank of fuel - not enough to cover the tow distance. We had to waste time to fuel it on the way to the trail head. - The ATV was not prepped for us. Dirty, dusty, muddy. - As suspected, the trail was not well marked. There were at least 4 unclear intersections with some markings (like #200, 200A) but this is meaningless without a map. I could not download a map myself the night before. One turn led us up a 3 mile dead-end spur to a radio tower. - We checked in with the person that rented the ATV to us, showed him our location on GPS and he said we were fine. - A few miles later, we ended up at a dead end at a fire road about 20 miles from start. The employee told us we were in the wrong place and told us to back track all the way back (vs. an intended loop). - We missed our return time but were not charged extra. The ATV was mechanically good, high quality and newer but clearly not prepped for a new customer. We saw amazing fall colors. The duration of trip was longer than we expected and had to rush the return since an expected loop turned into an out-and-back. We didn't feel heard when dealing with the employee. He also did not honor the discount and said to call the owner about the fuel cost and concerns. Two email attempts were made to the owner (Carlos), and he never responded. Their service did match their website or phone conversations. I find it nuts that they will send a visitor into the back country without maps and make you feel stupid by claiming 'it is easy' and 'super well marked.' These areas have limited cell coverage, and you will be on your own if you get lost or have a mechanical issue. I would not use their services again - horrible customer service.

You fill out the wavier paperwork, get a speech from one of the workers, and go through the line to your life jacket and paddle. They also have shoes for rent if you need them. The bus ride to the launch point is about 30 minutes. The staff do their best to keep everyone entertained while your on the bus; telling jokes, telling you facts about landmarks, and the local area. When you get to the launch point it's about another 15 minutes before you get on your raft. They go through another 5-7 minute speech about the water, how to maneuver, and all the safety stuff (just in case crap goes wrong). Then they split you up into groups and you load the raft. We truly had a blast on the raft and I never felt like I was at risk of injury, or unsafe through the entire ride. From start to finish it was about a 2 hour trip; but it went by really fast. I could have rode the river for at least another 1-2 hours. It was super chill and some of the rough waters (class II and III) didn't last long but made the ride very exciting. We did stop for about 30 minutes at a point where you can jump off a cliff. There is a 25 foot cliff as well as a small jump spot for kids (my 4 year old jumped from the small spot). I did go up to the 25 foot jump (along with about 30 other people). Jumping was not a problem at all because you walk up to the edge and simply walk off for the jump. They don't give you anytime to look around, think, or get scared. 30 people jumped off in less than 7-8 minutes. It felt great!! The ride back to the main store was much shorter; about 15 minutes. Overall we had a great time and it was well worth it.
