We were really looking forward to our ATV tour with Grand Adventures and showed up early for what we believed was our scheduled tour. Unfortunately, we had made an honest mistake and accidentally booked it for the following week--when we would no longer be in town. We immediately contacted the business while we were at the location, explained the situation, and asked about a refund or reschedule. We were told we could receive a refund minus a 7.5% fee--roughly $30--for "processing." When we kindly asked for a full refund, the staff member not only refused but claimed that because she had to be on the phone and "click a button," we had now cost the business money. She stood firm that no matter the situation, a 100% refund would not be given. It's one thing to have a policy. It's another to treat a customer's good faith mistake with zero flexibility and then blame the cost of customer service on them. We didn't use any equipment, take anyone else's spot, or cancel last minute--we simply misread the date and immediately tried to make it right. $30 is a small amount, but it speaks volumes about how this company handles honest errors. We will absolutely book with another adventure company next time we're in Winter Park--one that values people over rigid policy and doesn't treat a polite refund request like an inconvenience. read more

BEWARE!!!! False advertisement of snowmobiling in Vail. No guided tours are given in Vail. So if you are not familiar with area it's not accurate when booking online. They did not want to refund my deposit, even if I booked less than 24 hours before noticing their false advertisement. Adam was an AMAZING guide for our snowmobile tour!!! We did the afternoon 1/2 half day trip and the weather was perfect. Being able to free ride in the bowl, going through the wooded trails and flying down the open road paths were such FUN! My wife and I rented a 2 seat RZR for the day out of Red Cliff. We made our reservation the day before, the day before, and Thomas could not have been more helpful. When we arrived at Red Cliff Mack treated us like we were old friends. He made the registration and safety review enjoyable. Once on the trail the scenery was beautiful and the riding was fun. The machine was comfortable, simple to operate, and more importantly, a blast to drive. Be sure to bring a lunch for a picnic and plenty of water. Don't forget a warm jacket as the weather can change quickly at the higher altitude. We called the day before & Thomas got us all set for a 1/2 day 2 seater ATV. we arrived in Redcliff had lunch at Maingo Grill (got 10% off because we rented ATV's. We had a great experience at RMAR in Red Cliff going up Shrine Pass and the adjoining trails along Shrine Pass. Stan out of the Red Cliff location was great, knowledgeable, and some of the best customer service I've encountered in years. He got us all outfitted in gear and gave a full overview of the Can-Am UTV controls and capabilities before giving as a complete overview of what was ahead of us on the trails ahead. He knew what to look out for, how to take on certain obstacles along the route, and gave recommendations for the best views to see. I would recommend RMAR to everyone for their equipment, knowledge and service. read more

On the positive side the bikes we rented ran like a top. On the negative side they were ill maintained and not even close to road legal, as advertised. From the start the shop owners demonstrated their lack of customer focus. The bikes were supposed to be on a trailer and ready for pickup. Upon arrival at 1:30 in the afternoon the doors were locked and the shop was closed. A phone call to the owner had him show-up 45 minutes later. The bikes were not on the trailer or ready to go. In fact, it was a surprise to them that we did not have our own trailer for pickup. It took another hour before the bikes were on the trailer and ready to go. We rented 2 bikes and this is the list of what was wrong with each: Bike #1 * Break light and necessary configuration present, yet not functioning. (An adjustment is all that would have been needed) * The headlight control button was not connected to the handlebar, but rather swinging from a wire. * No horn * The gearshift was so loose that it fell off the bike and was lost. * The kill switch stopped working, so there was no way to turn the motor off. (Not really their fault as it did work for the first 2 hours of riding.) Bike #2 * Break light not functioning * No speedometer * No horn During discussions with the owners at one point one owner stated that they "go over every bike with a fine tooth comb and tighten everything after each rental", while the other owner at a different time stated that "we don't tighten every bolt and screw before sending out on the next rental". This makes sense as I don't tighten every nut and bolt on my own bike before each ride either. But I do make adjustments and re-tighten accessories that become loose. In the end, there was no acceptance of responsibility for any of these issues ever shown by anyone at RMAR. The tone was that all of these mishaps happened during our use of their equipment. read more

My husband and I rented the RZR atv at Rocky Mountain Adventure Rental's Buena Vista location on a belated honeymoon trip in August. To say we had a great time would be an understatement. I don't think my husband stopped smiling the entire time he was in that thing. It was a major highlight of our trip. Check in was super easy (they even email you a safety video to watch before you arrive) and they had us drive to the trailhead so it was really quick and easy to leave and find some dinner before hitting the road back to Denver for the last night of our vacation. The one-on-one introduction to the vehicle was really helpful for me because I don't have much experience with those kind of vehicles. The whole thing felt like we were on our own little adventure. We were given a gps and a digital map and got to go explore the park which was so beautiful. We had a great time just getting lost and finding our favorite trails to ride. My husband was the primary driver but we switched off often and I definitely got more confident as the day went on and had a blast both as a driver and a passenger. My only regret is that we only did a half day rental. While it was totally worth it I would have loved to have brought a picnic or something for lunch and extended our adventure even longer. read more

Offers zero flexibility/help in a time where everyone needs to be a little kinder. I was having a really great experience with RMAR before my husband got really sick during our trip. We ended the trip earlier than expected and Walker from RMAR informed is not to worry, that our $100 deposit could be used up until a year in advance. Unfortunately that's not what happened, I woke up the next day to see that RMAR had charged us the full amount despite us deciding not to use their equipment since my husband got sick. I spoke with Jeff and he said we couldn't cancel because it was less than 48 hours notice, and I unfortunately I had no way of knowing my husband would fall ill. Next time we'll know just to show up sick and use the rental anyways. Thanks Jeff! read more
