So, Leaf Moving was the very first time I have ever used a moving company...and I have moved so manyyyyyl times. I figured it was time due to the amount of house that I was moving...way different than moving apartment to apartment. I needed HELP! The unfortunate thing was that due to my time schedule, I needed help in 2 days from the day I started to look for help. I called around to many places, and received the disappointing, but very understandable, answers of "We are completely booked". Mind you, this was over Memorial Day weekend. Yikes! I was losing hope on getting the move done because the items I needed moved were things that I couldn't do solo. So when I called Leaf Moving, I spoke with Jordan, and he said he could absolutely help me move. I was soooooooooooooooo HAPPY!! He told me the price per hour was flat, with zero hidden fees. What he quoted per hour was exactly what I would pay at the end, nothing else. That's apparently something that movers will get you on...hidden fees. So that was really cool. I failed to explain the amount of work that was going to happen to him over the phone (probably because I was so happy I found a mover), so when Jordan arrived, he had only one other worker with him. He explained the amount of time that it would take, which I was blown away by, but as I learned, he knew what he was talking about it. He said if he would've known the amount of work, he would've brought more guys to help, so keep that in mind when moving!!! Over estimate! Haha. Anyway, we got it worked out and they started right in. I was helping to move as well, because by the hour is, well, by the hour, and Jordan didn't mind at all. He welcomed my help, even though he was getting paid by the hour. That showed something right there, trustworthiness, where it was about getting my job done, and not about simply trying to rack up my moving bill. The move went great, with nothing broken, and they were even able to get the 26' truck backed up to my garage, which trust me, wasn't an easy task with how my drive is laid out. In the end, we weren't able to get all the items from house to house because at 6 hours in, I couldn't afford to make another trip, but man I wish I could have!!! But, I was able to get all the items I absolutely needed the help to move moved, and that was what I needed more than anything. I recommend Leaf Moving without a doubt. It's a newer company, but Jordan is on the up and up, and genuinely a nice guy. He didn't make me feel like I was an idiot for all my misunderstandings of how a moving company works, nor did he make me feel like he was trying to squeeze money out of me. Good move. Good dude. I would not recommend this company at all. I decided to go with this company based off of "word of mouth." And being African American, I wanted to support a black owned business. That was a BIG mistake. First issue they called and said they were an hour running late. I thought no big deal. I'll just bag my clothes up and have them move them. I usually move my clothes myself in my car. Second issue, when they finally arrived they were in the smallest truck Penske have. No way were all my things going to fit. They will need to make 2 trips, which meant more money for them. Thirdly, the move took 4 hours for a one bedroom apartment. Mind you, my son and a friend assisted with the move. The movers were slow and took lots of breaks. Lastly, over half the bags of clothes went missing. For some strange reason the movers went missing for about 6 to 8 minutes. I could not locate them. I was literally moving to the newly built apartment complex across the street. I believe when they exited my old apartment complex parking lot they re-entered on the entrance side. Offloaded my bags of clothes at the garbage enclosure. That's why I couldn't find them and why they took so long to arrive. If you still decide to utilize this company, inventory your things. Have a detailed list of your items to ensure they don't come up missing or stolen. I lost so many unique pieces. I was so distraught it took me months to come to terms with this and post my opinion about this company. I basically paid them to steal my clothes. read more

Leaf Moving - Movers Near Me

May 30th I was scheduled for a crew to show up at 10am. I was quoted a 4-5 hour move, $120 per hr. The day before the move I text Jordan to make sure we were still on for 10am and he asked me if earlier or later would be a better option for me I said earlier would be great. He said he would be there between 8:30-9am. The day of the move Jordan didn't show up till 11am. It was him and a female. I am all for women empowerment but I was expecting two big strong men. The move started off very slow. After two hours of them loading things up the girl had to leave, so Jordan took her to the U-haul location a few miles away and said he would be right back. I waited outside on my furniture he left in the yard for abound 30 mins. Jordan told me other movers would be there any minute so I was waiting for them. Jordan arrived back first and the other movers arrived about 45 mins after him. There were now 3 movers so I thought "oh good now things will speed up!" Nope. They didn't know what they were doing. They seemed to be waiting for Jordan's cue on everything. So things weren't going quickly even with the extra man power. My neighbors noticed and came over to ask what was taking them so long. My neighbors knew all the movers had to move was the large furniture, no boxes. I was taking the boxes in my truck. Finally around 3:30 we left Allen and headed to Melissa. I arrived first and unloaded my entire truck before they showered up. I thought about how they had to drive slow in the u-haul but geez it's only a 20 mins drive why is it taking them 40. Jordan said they took a wrong turn. Once they got here and started unloading everything I was optimistic that it would be done within two hours. After all, the loading up is the hard part bc you have to wrap it and strategically place it in the truck. Well, it took them three hours. I put my own sectional couch together and nobody offered to help. I had to ask them to help me put my daughters bed together...they were standing around like the entire job had been completed while Jordan was assembling my bed by himself. The help was unexperienced to say the least. Don sat on my couch all sweaty and even asked for water...I looked for a cup and gave him some water, but come on man you should know better, and bring your own water. At the end of the move (7:20pm) Jordan told me the total was $960, but he would take $60 off for being late... I told him NO. He quoted me max $600 and I'm a single mother of two I can't afford that! I told him I can't pay more than $700 and he said $800? I said no $700 is the most I can pay. The next day I realized my tape gun was gone so I text Jordan and asked if he had it and he said "yeah I meant to text you." He told me he would drop it off after work. He didn't. So I text and called him and asked him again about it and he told me "it's a $8 tape dispenser can't you just buy a new one.." I told him "NO it's not mine I borrowed it and you took it without my permission so bring it back!" I lost my cool. I started going off on all the things that went wrong that day and told him about the guy sitting on my couch and asking me for water. Jordan replied "it's 100 degrees outside, it's your responsibility to provide water for your movers." I CAN'T EVEN AT THIS POINT. I told him off, he is very unprofessional and I would never do business with him again. Go with Black Tie Movers they are so much better! I regret not using them again for this move. read more

One word to describe these guys... WOW! If you're looking for affordable moving that is done right, these are your guys! Jordan is incredible. He came to me on a last minute call when my previous movers I had hired cancelled last minute early on a Sunday morning! They were able to take all of my furniture and place it beautifully into a mid-sized storage unit, with great skill! I was definitely impressed with their work!! Cannot recommend them enough! I was moving into the area and due to extreme exhaustion and and a emergency health issue couldn't unload my Uhaul truck. Called them up and they were able to meet me within hours and carefully unloaded everything with very reasonable pricing! 1/3 the price the other guys wanted for not that much work.
