Enjoyed lunch here on a Friday afternoon with a Vegan Reuben and a beet hummus flat bread. Reuben was wonderful with tasty tempeh and solid rye bread and the sweet potatoes fries were very good also. Salty and warm. The flatbread was beautiful and huge! It was a little doughy but flavors were there. They do not have a liquor license at the moment so could not enjoy a glass of wine. Almost 5 stars. Food was delicious with great flavor. Sweet potato gnocchi was our favorite- pesto was so good! And we loved the peas and mushrooms that accompanied the dish. The side sauce with the calamari style mushrooms was too sweet for me. Sushi salad was good, and the added tempeh crab cake was outstanding. I wish I had added 2!! I didn't notice Kombucha on the menu until we had already finished our meal - bummer. Outdoor seating is west facing and on the warm side in the evening. Indoors seemed pretty warm too. I made a reservation for a birthday dinner and after they confirmed the date and time, when myself and party showed up, they were closed. Chairs on tables closed. Omg. Run here. We have been in Colorado for 5 days now and this has been my favorite place that we've eaten. Ambiance is so cute and warm. Staff is super friendly. Food came out SO fast as well. We had the kale salad, orange cauliflower and udon noodles and everything was TO DIE FOR. We couldn't stop talking about how good it was. I'm not sure if I'm a fan, but this isn't a 3* place... Came here for brunch with a friend on a Saturday afternoon. Do keep in mind that you can only get brunch here on Saturday and Sunday - a shame since I was hoping to try the regular menu. They are located right behind Aji (they share a bathroom) and there's a giant leaf over the door. This is important since there is no number and google maps only takes you so far. We were seated quickly enough, but there aren't many tables so if you come during prime time, there may be a wait. Our table was right next to the bathroom door, but it helped keep it quiet and out of direct sunlight - they do pull blinds down if you ask. I had chai and the egg sandwich with an upgrade to the kale salad. All were good and it was a ton of food. I did have a bit of confusion over the iced toddy - the waiter wasn't sure how it worked and come to find out they weren't serving it that day. Too bad. The prices are typical Pearl Street but it is cute and has options for everyone - gluten free, raw, vegan, vegetarian, and meat eaters. read more

Kind of an incomplete grade b/c I didn't try the lunch or dinner menu, but instead the happy hour menu. It has a good amount of options, of which the cauliflower tacos are easily the best. The cauliflower is extremely crispy and the sauce they are cooked in is extremely flavorful - reminded me of some cauliflower wings I've had. The calamari was solid; very crispy but not much taste. We had been waiting for about 20 mins to even get water or be checked on. 5 mins later a female waitress comes back and is asking the second customer if he had any questions about the menu etc. This is plain discrimination and white privileged. Tried Leaf for dinner on a Saturday night at 6:30 because we heard good things. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. Took forever to get our food. They were out of Bibimbap before 7 PM. Cocktails came without alcohol (truly think they forgot to add it to the delicious peach tea concoction). Udon noodles, Fatoush salad and gyoza were good but Jerk tofu was just okay. Would have been open to trying again but don't want to have another hourlong wait before nothing before a salad arrives at the table, and not sure the service lives up to the food prices. read more

We were headed to Colorado Springs from Estes Park. We decided to stop in Boulder for dinner and found this vegetarian restaurant. The staff was very accommodating for our smoky. We had a party of 8 and luckily they were able to get us seated within 5 minutes. The food was great. We had the beet linguine and the Korean Bibimbap. The place has a full bar with amazing cocktails. Ambiance is nice as well: Food was amazing and the service provided by the staff was even more amazing. As a vegetarian, I get really excited when a place has an entirely vegetarian menu and I'm not limited to a few options. I had been wanting to try Leaf since I moved to Denver 4 years ago. I wasn't extremely inspired by Leaf's brunch menu...it seemed a bit boring and all over the place...I was starving and yet nothing sounded great (maybe I was in a weird mood). Their dinner menu sounds much better, so I'll definitely have to go back. I ordered the biscuits and gravy which weren't very hot, but had a phenomenal flavor. The "Dirty Chai" was also really tasty...I think they get their coffee drinks from next door because mine arrived after my food was delivered, yet ordered before. I came in on a pretty lazy Sunday to a pretty empty restaurant that was soooo extremely quiet. Since I came in alone, I sat at the bar which is pretty, but the wavy shape of the actual bar counter makes it a bit awkward to eat at. If I visit again, I will bring friends and eat at a table. The service is average and not super friendly...the servers talk to each other when discussing the tables/parties in the restaurant and where to seat people, but that's about it. I admit to being surprised by how fabulous this restaurant is! I am an omnivore and don't often find much I like at strictly vegetarian or vegan places. I have been there twice and both times had excellent food. The portions are large enough that you don't feel like you need to plan for a snack later. One disappointment is that they don't have the vegan tomato basil soup as a regular item in the menu. It was so delicious that I paid for them to pack up a quart for me to take home! Meh. Arrived at 3 PM hoping to get a late lunch and all they had was small appetizers for happy hour. Only three gluten-free options when it would be so easy to make the tacos or fried items G-free. Ever heard of rice, potato or corn flour? Our waitress didn't even know whether the tacos were corn or flour tortillas and had to go ask the kitchen. With food allergies and intolerances increasing, restaurants need to educate their staff on common allergens in their dishes. All that aside, the flavor of the food just was blah. The chili glazed tofu was too sweet and one-dimensional. The kale salad was equally sweet, lacking acid and salt. The only good thing were the fries. Without egg or dairy, it still resembled a traditional recipe. I didn't see it mentioned on the menu, but they can make this a half order if you're not too hungry. My bf ordered the biscuits and gravy. These biscuits were VERY dense, but the flavor was good. We also had the tartar, which was really good except the endive is pretty bitter. We love coming here for special occasions! If we lives closer we'd be there all the time! The new location is beautiful and just around the corner from the old one. The last time we went we ordered the Prix Fixe menu, which is such a deal! We each had an app, entre, and dessert, everything was fantastic and we had the opportunity to try several menu items that we've had our eyes on. Avacodo tartar is hands down our favorite app. The mushroom calamari was ok, but the sauce that it came with was phenomenal. My husband had the Jamaican Jerk Tempeh and loved it, it wasn't my cup of tea though. I had the Korean BBQ veggies that were delicious.
