When I asked them to please put on a mask the head guy said "He doesn't believe in masks and that this whole pandemic was a HOAX and refused to wear a mask. The sales rep was very professional and detailed about the product. The installation was clean and done quickly.

Currently in a legal dispute. Their gutters take backseat to the damage the subcontractor caused- resulting in an environmental spill on my property then the sub contractor's and LeafFilter's insurance denying payment- even after LeafFilter replaced my oil tank (damaged during installation) then stole the old tank from my property without discussion. Local office never contacted me when this happened just sent a plumber. Then when they finally did call, their rep said he called the wrong customer to report the damage and replacement as well as, "don't worry we I'll take care of everything 'soup to nuts'. No soup no nuts. Now I have a 30k in mandated clean up, 1k in replacement oil and legal fees. 100 million dollar national company bankrupting a single parent nurse. Lovely people. read more

Rarely do I comment on products, but I'm making an exception. There's a company called LeafFilter that just installed gutter screens on my house and a house we manage next door. I've noticed in the past that leaves continue to fall well into the winter, well past when I've cleaned the gutters and well past temperatures at which anyone would want to be on the roof. This LeafFilter catches and sheds the leaves and lets the water through. Unlike similar devices I've seen on other houses, these stainless steel screens shed the leaves and really do let the water through. I've already seen it happening. The representative, Chris Byrnes, is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to answer any number of questions. He's been out twice, once for each house, and he's made a fine impression both times. He's a great face for this company and I'm sure they're glad to have him. Andy started out with a price of $3800 then went down to $1850. what if I had accepted one of those prices? why not just give me a fair price to start with? I went to Yelp and surprised to see all the negative reviews. mostly for the sales people. 18 reviews and only one good review if I remember right. almost finished with his sales pitch he showed me a Consumers Report magazine from 2008 that picked LeafFilter first out of 20 leaf gutter guards.. why not start with that and just give a fair honest price.. nevertheless I did purchase this for $1095 and think he would have come down to one thousand. If I could give them a negative star, I would. My elderly mother had a salesman from the office come to her RANCH home. Simple job, gutter across front of home and back. She was first quoted over $9,000, to which she said to the salesman,"Too much money." Salesman then took time and reduced price to just under $8,000. My mother said, "still a lot of money and I need to speak with my family. The salesman, then called in to his manager via phone, and the manager said they would lower to around $5,000. My mother responded with, "Still a lot of money, I will speak with my family." My mother went out to do some errands, and upon her return, there was a message on her answering machine from the Leaf Filter manager, who said, "We will do the job at cost - $3,800." Is this for real? Yes, it is. They came down $5,000 in price. This is elder abuse and just plain disgusting price gouging. Do not even bother to call. Save yourself the trouble. Order your leaf guards on Amazon and have a great handyman install them. All for a fraction of the price. If I had the manager's name, I would list it here. I'm praying Leaf Filter gets rid of him if they want any chance of having a profitable office, but more importantly, an honest office. read more

I had an appointment for a free estimate. Mike, the Salesman was prompt and initially very pleasant. I didn't expect the "presentation" to last as long as it did, but that is besides the point. When we finally got down to the actual cost, I must say I was slightly surprised. I explained to Mike that this was my first gutter estimate and I would need to do my due diligence and get a few more quotes. This is where it went left. First off, I didn't read any reviews or check with the BBB beforehand because as I explained to Mike I have a lot on my plate right now. I didn't appreciate his insinuation that I should have done that before this consultation. In addition, I said that I wanted to get a few more estimates. Mike insisted on telling me I didn't need to since in his presentation he included the prices of the competition. Once again, I didn't appreciate the fact that I was supposed to take his word on the pricing simply because it was nicely laminated in a three ring binder. And lastly, at no time did I plan on purchasing such a big ticket item that day, regardless of how many discounts were being offered. And I find it unacceptable for a company who is looking to secure your business to constantly bad mouth the competition. I was considering gutter guards for m home and Leaf Filter came calling. A salesman came to my home and showed me the product and samples of their competitors. He had already measured my house and it seemed like a good idea. He quoted me a price that was way too high. The price got a little better after he offered the job be done when I wasn't home. This was intended to keep the crew busy. I told him I needed to do some research and would let him know. Sure enough I read a lot of negative reviews on yelp and watched on youtube other unhappy customers complaining about having to still go up on ladders and clean small and sticky debris from that surgical grade steel mesh that was so highly touted. If you have Oak trees you know about that hairy stuff that falls right before the leaves bloom. It will pile up on top of your gutters and water will run over it. Two days later I got a text from George an Operations manager saying they had leftover product from a commercial job and I would get "drastic savings" from my quoted price. How nice! That's a lot of leftover product, remember they measure first....you get where this is going...
