Background I was a…read moremulti-event endurance athlete who trained and raced competitively for nearly three decades. I'm now 65 years-old and still pursue challenging health and fitness maintenance goals. Weekly, my aerobic (i.e., cardio) exercise consists of four different cycling days and a total of 100-140 miles ridden, and three different days of 2-hour sessions of anaerobic (i.e., strength) exercise primarily using heavy barbells and dumbbells. I've maintained fitness gym memberships for the past 47 years, and have never experienced a "one-size-fits-all" facility and amenities that met all of my needs. Consequently, I use multiple gyms on a weekly basis, which includes this Anytime Fitness (AF) gym in Long Beach (LB). AFLB is a gem and an outlier given its distinct quality differences when comparing local area gyms. AFLB | Environment I intuitively feel or see sought-after quality differences in this gym's environment, which is more private, personalized, clean, comfortable, calm, quiet, and uncrowded. Member common areas are exceptionally orderly and hygienic, including the well-maintained, single use only, unisex restrooms and/or shower rooms. The environment reflects a truly optimized, compact space design whose systems/functions/features are thoughtfully integrated and organized, which ensures an efficient and effective use of my time and energy. This environment feels like it's my personal gym, so I feel significantly more committed, disciplined, and focused and therefore more productive, which aren't routine experiences for me as a member of multiple other fitness gym brands. AFLB | Equipment Members will generally find enough equipment in this gym to achieve many different cardio and/or strength objectives. The equipment available is modern in design/features/functions, in excellent condition, and well-maintained. I've never seen any equipment designated for repair and therefore not available for use. AFLB | Culture Management and/or members generally demonstrate respect for this facility and the amenities provided given the routine quality conditions and productivity I've experienced when using this gym. Other members proceed through their fitness regimens in a disciplined and focused manner, so they facilitate the benefits of an efficient and effective use of my time and energy too. There's an atmosphere or a vibe whereby member actions or behaviors honor respect for people principles: floor space and/or equipment isn't monopolized by others; floor space isn't cluttered by personal items, equipment, or left behind debris/trash, and instead is readily available, shared, and clean; equipment is used, then wiped down, and left in a ready state for the next member's use; after member use, equipment is placed back in an orderly, organized, and safe manner; and single use only, unisex restrooms and/or shower rooms are generally left in a tidy and sanitary state. There is an accountability vibe whereby management and members embrace or accept personal ownership for 1) a respectful use of the facility and amenities provided and 2) respect for people principles. AFLB | Special Needs Individuals Requiring a Modified Environment and Exercise or Training This fitness gym has a unique volume of different equipment that I've also seen in physical therapy or rehabilitation services environments. Given the different equipment types available, and the distinct quality differences I described for this gym's environment, I would also recommend this gym for those who require a modified environment for exercise or training. Individuals with physical limitations or disabilities, those who must modify functional training exercises to enhance daily living skills, or others using cardio and/or strength training for rehabilitation purposes should consider a membership in this gym.

sometimes I'll come to this anytime fitness when I'm in the area so just thought I would review…read moreit!! there's a lot of parking outside especially since it's in a bigger plaza with other businesses. since this is one of the newer AF locations, all of the equipment inside is very new and modern, and always in working order. the space is very clean and well-kept. they have a handful of bathrooms and showers in the back of course, and those are also cleaned regularly. there's really everything you need here to get a good workout in, however I wish they would add a hip thrust machine! that would complete it! I know that have that little hip thrust "helper" thing where you load your barbell and use it to lie your back on, but no actual machine. ever since I started using a machine for hip thrusts, the workout has been much easier so that's why I'm all for those machines now lol. but all in all this is still one of the better AF locations.

I've been coming here for a year now. The gym is always spotless, no matter what time of day I show…read moreup. The staff is also great! Quick shoutout to Diego, David, and Herbert for always being great! The space itself is really well put together and has a great vibe that actually makes you want to work out. The biggest thing for me is that it rarely feels overcrowded. Even during busier times, I've never had to wait long for a machine or a rack, which was a constant frustration at my old gym. I honestly wish I switched sooner. Completely worth it so far.

I've been a member for a year and a half and it was time for me to say goodbye. I think this gym…read morehas a ton of potential of being okay to great, but it starts with the owners (which I believe in them - and I'll get to that later. Given that I've been a member for quite some time, I've observed so many things about this gym: the good, the not so ok Let's start with the good: - Equipment: Definitely top notch equipment - Outdoor Area: I didn't like it at first, but once you start going every so often you just get this different energy (plus we need more Vitamin D!) - Innovative: This gym is growing; I remember when it was just two workout areas, now expanded to 5 total as well as a sauna (free), a barbershop, a soon to be coffee shop, and a recovery room (additional pay). Oh and pilates! The not so ok: - Turnover: There's been a high turnover of employees, and I think this is where it starts with the owners. Granted, the owners from what I'm noticing are learning and they're only going to get better. But I feel like there's been a high turnover in the last year and a half so that says something. - Lack of Communication from Higher Ups: Again, every time I would speak to a worker, they know nothing about what's happening to the gym. As if, the gym is kept top secret. I just feel like there's a disconnect there, and should have more transparency with the owners and to the employees. - The vibe is preference. Some may like it some may not. I liked it at first, but recently it's starting to give me that 24 hour fitness vibe or EOS (used to be golds in Cerritos) vibe with "influencers" shirtless left and right filming. Filming is OK at this gym so they're setting the standard for that. But, I guess it just makes it awkward for someone like myself if I'm in someones film unintentionally. It's like I need to cater my workout so they can get the best footage. - I think for the price now ($179) they should serve towels, probably do better on maintenance like their drinking fountain, and heck even offer free pilates. If you think about it, club studio and other gyms are in this price range and all the classes are free. So maybe there's something to explore there I'm unsure. But if we're looking at the competitive landscape, at $179, there has to be some form of distinguisher, and top notch equipment can't just be it. Also, going back to employees. David here has been the longest one and I feel like this guy should have some form of ownership, or promotion. This was the only guy in my 1 and half years of being here that went above and beyond at the front desk. I remember he was genuinely concerned about my overall being (had surgery), and gave me options (freezing my account) before even closing it. Every other front desk is just "hi" "bye" "I don't know." But this guy really cares about the customers at the gym. And to the owners, you guys are trying I see that. And I can definitely see you guys improving and making adjustments. Just recently, you closed all membership, and that's because you want to make some changes for the better. I really do hope this gym continues to get better. But for me, the chapter has ended! Thanks All One!

I'm a big fan of Club Studio and have been going for years now. Here's why I love it:…read more* The Gym is well lit, has all the equipment you'd need, and is never too crowded (or empty) to help us stay motivated to work out. * The Studios have great marked spots for each person, with instructors who bring the energy and fun to their classes. Plus, I appreciate that every class starts on time. I personally can't get enough of the Hot Yoga with Sandi! * The amenities are plentiful with towels, hairdryers, lockers and plenty of spaces throughout with everything we need. * The service is great. The Club Manager, Ricky, excels at taking care of the members. * And, there's plenty of free parking so you're never stressed looking for a place for your car or bike. This is a fantastic facility. Check it out!

I'm a very happy customer here now for almost a year. My only complaints about Club Studio are…read morewhen they build gyms without a pool or jacuzzi (such as this one in Long Beach) and they don't have any designations for beginner or advanced levels in their classes. It would be really helpful if you weren't confronted as a yoga newbie with instructors trying to get you to do hand stands or the very challenging moves and weight lifts in the Pilates x Strength class. I think they need to give info to the members about difficulty ahead of time or section off some classes as beginner, etc. I belong to another Club Studio in a different city as well, so I'd have to say the staff at the front desk at this club can be a little unfriendly and inattentive compared to the other club. But I love most of the yoga teachers at this Club Studio, and I really think they made great choices in hiring Sandi, Kelly, Karen, and Jason. They all have great personalities and try to make the classes accessible for people with injuries or special problems . But if you're a senior with a lot of physical problems, this club is probably not for you. The emphasis is definitely on the youthful customer here, and I hope I can keep up with the classes for as long as I'm physically able before I have to go somewhere else less challenging.
