Before going to Leanne's showroom I had had 4 appointments in other bridal salons (in Spain, France and México), and each time my experience had been so disappointing, I didn't feel special at all and didn't feel like myself in wedding dresses. When I entered Leanne's showroom it was all the opposite as it is not a bridal boutique, it is a private studio where they give you the 100% attention you need. No other person has an appointment at the same time, and that made me feel very special. I didn't have the chance to meet Leanne, however Angela was SO nice and helpful. The first dress I tried on was the dress I ordered (I didn't try any other dress actually as this one was so beautiful and I didn't want to remove it EVER). I actually live in México so during all the process of the dress production I was in touch several times with Angela for some concerns I had, and she was always so reassuring. When I came back to pick up my dress it ended to be even more beautiful than I expected, and it didn't need any major alterations. I have to say that my dress, as well as every other dresses I saw in Leanne's showroom is so delicate and surprisingly light, that make them very confortable, not like some other wedding dresses that feels so heavy. I would definitely recommend you to visit the showroom. I don't think after having an appointment there, you will be willing to have more appointments at other bridal boutiques... He was responsive, honest, and genuinely excited for me. He had so much positive energy! I found Leanne on Etsy and fell in love with one of her wedding gowns. When I eventually got engaged I emailed her immediately and set up an appointment. Nathan was there to greet me and show me around the space. Leanne was working on some of her AMAZING designs, and together, they helped me find the perfect dress for me. I walked out happy and confident that I would look and feel amazing on my wedding day, and I did. I got married last weekend and was comfortable the whole day. i danced and sat and ate and laughed, and the dress looked and felt perfect throughout. Wow! My beautiful wedding dress from Leanne Marshall got to me so quickly! I told myself that I wouldn't want to try it on until the wedding was at least only a year away, but once I saw it I couldn't help myself and had to try it on immediately. It fits perfectly and is so incredibly beautiful! I wish I could wear it all day, but unfortunately I had to repack it and hide it in a secret little corner. They must be pros at wrapping it up because for the life of me I couldn't wrap it up again as nicely as it was when I first unpacked it. my fiance and I stumbled upon this shop this weekend and were floored. Nathan is so kind (and handsome! ) and he made me feel like a princess trying on the dresses. Leanne was working in the studio, and brought me a brand new design she had just finished up to try on. The dresses are stunning, elegant and unique; they don't weigh you down and when I tried them on, I felt like I was wrapped in gold! (well, in silk, which is close enough!) I'm always a bit uncomfortable trying these white/ivory dresses on, but somehow (it must have been magic and her expertise) all of the dresses looked fabulous on my curvy, non runway body! read more

"The universe keeps trying to keep us apart but I promise you, not for much longer" this was our first impression of Nathan, who immediately made us feel very welcome and at ease in the most charming setting. His positive energy, spirit and sense of humor made my bridal appointment an incredible experience. His approach to the whole process of trying on dresses and choosing the right one was very amusing. First, there was the research round, where Nathan worked with me to find some amazing dresses that fit my budget. He was very knowledgeable about which dresses fit my body type, presented me with dresses that I never thought would make my heart melt, and transformed the Rosaline dress into a piece of art by only adding a lacy top and his favorite accessory as a belt add on. Next, there was the second round which Nathan called the battle of the dresses or the knock out round. All the dresses were fighting against each other to win me over, and I ended up going with my first love.. The Danielle.. An absolutely gorgeous and romantic dress! This is the only place you need to visit if you are shopping for a wedding gown. Each appointment is private, which makes the entire experience so much more comfortable and personal. Angela was a pleasure to work with and makes you feel so welcomed and special. I am definitely not a "sample size" but Angela made it work and I was able to find my dream gown! Also, the gowns are so incredibly comfortable and light; I made a joke about being able to lay on the couch and watch law & order SVU in it... but it's so comfortable, you really could! I cannot wait to wear this dress on my wedding day. All of Leanne's designs are whimsical and flow in all the right places. The Leanne Marshall Bridal showroom is definitely as good as it gets and I encourage everyone to go. I had tried on a Leanne Marshall dress in Denver and fell in love with how the dress moved once it was on. My mom and I decided to fly out to New York to visit her showroom and it was the best idea ever. I had the best experience there and all of the dresses I tried on were incredibly beautiful. Nathan was wonderfully sweet and helpful throughout the entire process and it was so much fun to spend the morning with him. Leanne was working on her dresses in the back and I got to meet her which was really cool! Her dresses were unlike anything I had seen in other bridal shops and I found the perfect dress that I can't wait to wear on my wedding day! I am so glad we made the trip to NY to visit her showroom! I had a very specific look in mind for my wedding dress, and for months had been having trouble finding a dress that fit my vision. I had described my dress to a good friend, and while browsing through Etsy, she discovered Leann Marshall. I had been looking at Etsy myself but hadn't seen this one (and it was on sale!) and it was everything I had been envisioning. And even better, I lived in NYC at the time, and I was glad that the designer was nearby so I wouldn't have to deal with shipping and distance issues. I made an appointment and my mom, sister and I went. I knew this was the dress I wanted if it looked good on, so I didn't bother trying anything else on (just browsed the selection). Leann was in the back working in her studio (so cool!!!), and Nathan helped me with the dress and figuring out the fit. He was very friendly and we felt comfortable around him. I wasn't into traditional bridal stuff and having a wedding appointment to try on gowns was the last thing I really wanted to do, so this was perfect. Private, quick (for me, I didn't need a lot of time), and got the job done! And the dress looked gorgeous on. I didn't have the dress custom tailored because of my budget, but I went with my usual dress size and it was perfect. I picked the finished dress up less than 2 months later and all was well! It is also a dress that I can wear again someday. It came in two parts, including an underdress that is lovely on its own. read more

What a wonderful dress-shopping experience! I originally found my wedding dress at the Lovely Bride (also a great shop!) and they suggested I go straight to the designer since she had a studio in NYC. I didn't realize at the time that Leanne Marshall was the Season 5 winner of Project Runway, I just knew I fell in love with her style. Her midtown studio is light and airy and Leanne is literally in the back at a sewing machine making the dresses! Her dresses are absolutely beautiful and unique, and though the price isn't cheap it's really a great value. She uses top-quality fabrics and her attention to detail is unbelievable. My dress was custom-sized and it was extremely reasonable. Nathan made the whole experience really fun, he's great at his job and clearly loves it. And Leanne is so sweet and talented. It feels great to support their business. I absolutely love my dress and the reactions to it were amazing, people literally gasped! Highly recommend. read more

Update to my previous review: I have bought my dress! The most gorgeous Betsy dress. Nathan and Leanne worked so patiently with me, through multiple appointments (and my mother coming in from out of town) to help me pick my dress. Also, they worked with me and allowed me to pick out my own custom beading from a selection of their fabrics. In other words, a control-freak like me purchased a dress -- without ever even seeing it!! -- because I had so much confidence in the quality and design of this place. I first heard of Leanne Marshall at The Lovely Bride in Philadelphia. I liked the fit of her dresses, so I looked her up online and found her Etsy shop. I messaged her about a custom dress and explained what I was looking for. The cost of the "custom" version was almost double what the original costs. She doesn't offer true custom dresses including sketches and fittings either. I should have realized that this would not be worth my time or money when Nathan messaged me accusing me of being someone else they had previously worked with and asking for my phone number. Thinking this was just some odd fluke, I gave him my number and sent a picture of myself to assure them I was not that person. He then said if the "secret" got out that I had been to The Lovely Bride, they would stop making my dress immediately. We planned out the dress and I put down a deposit. I asked for a sketch to confirm we were on the same page, but was denied. Four months later, I got my dress in the mail and it had THE WRONG BACK! It also had a different neckline than I expected. I messaged Nathan asking how to go about altering it and he asked for my phone number. I figured he would call me and go over my options. He did call me acting very unprofessional and dramatic. He said very inappropriate, insulting things like, "Don't take this the wrong way, but you are (name-calling)." He insisted that the back was correct. When I had a moment to get a word in, I simply said, "It's written in the emails." I was surprised he had called me like that without even checking. He hung up to check the emails and called me back acknowledging that they had made the mistake, but said it was my fault because I confused them. First, he said I was stuck with the dress because they would have to remake the whole thing to fix it. He suggested I take it to a tailor and pay to have it customized (which is what I paid them to do). Then, he offered to give me a full refund if I returned it. With four months until my wedding, that put me in a tight spot. I looked at other dresses, but it was too late. I brought it to a seamstress, who offered to fix it for a fair price and said it was absolutely not worth what I paid for it. I messaged Nathan asking for extra lace so the seamstress could do the alterations. He said I was being ripped off and I should take a train to New York and let them alter the dress. This confirmed to me that he is the most dramatic, hypocritical person I have ever met. I declined based on how erratic his behavior is. Bottom line: Leanne makes beautiful, overpriced dresses. If you must buy one, don't get custom and do order it through a retailer. It's the same price either way and there's a lot less drama involved. read more

This place was a dream at the end of my bridal gown search. I found the showroom because I wanted to try a particular dress (the Heloise) but Lovely Bride didn't stock it. I reached out to Leanne Marshall and made an appointment at the showroom. Angela is great, especially as I asked if they could squeeze me and my mom/sister (who were only in town a few days more) in fairly last-minute. She was responsive, attentive, enthusiastic, and made the experience really fun. The space is bright, and huge, and we had it all to ourselves. And the gowns--stunning! There were a bunch I could see myself in, but I was delighted to discover that the Heloise, which had looked like my "dream dress" (lace top on top of a strapless gown, light and airy) online, fit perfectly in-person. The sample sizes aren't just 2s, they actually have an array of dresses that curvier folks can try on. The quality is amazing, the price can't be beat... Echoing a lot of other reviews here, but my experience working with the team at Leanne Marshall was truly amazing. I have gone to a seriously ridiculous number of bridal salons in nyc, and Leanne's work is just so distinct and different than that of other designers. Beautiful, ethereal, flowy, and really interesting use of color - which is something I was looking for in a dress. Though I had been to her studio a couple times for bridal appointments (which were great), I ended up buying my dress at her studio's sample sale. If you have the opportunity to get to one of her sample sales, absolutely do not miss it!!! They weren't samples in the traditional bridal sense (beaten up from many try ons in the studio). Instead they were like brand new (and many of them were because they were prototypes), and I received a lot of one-on-one attention as if it weren't a sample sale at all! I just can't get over the quality and number of the dresses available during this sale. I worked with Nathan who was amazing, and I found my dress within the first 10 minutes of walking in. Leanne and Nathan were both amazing to work with. The studio was beautiful and simple, and my friend and I were the only clients there; it was really nice not to have to look at/try on wedding gowns with spectators or distractions! Leanne's work speaks for itself as far as style and quality go, but Nathan is extremely helpful and supportive during the choosing and trying on process. He knows everything about all the options, and helps you get a perfect idea of how each one will fit you after tailoring. I wasn't limited by time or by the number of dresses I could try. When I originally started looking for wedding dresses online and in other bridal shops, I hated everything and seriously doubted that I would find something special because of how cheesy and played out everything looked, but then I saw a photo of something Leanne had made online. It took me a while to find the source of the photo, but it was worth it. Without her, I might be going cocktail when what most brides really want is a gown. Her dresses are so different from the run of the mill- in the best way possible. Classic and somehow never done before. I feel so lucky to have found Leanne as a designer; now I just can't wait to wear the dress again! read more
