Sadly, our two-week stay in Feb. and March -- planned as a celebration of a 78th birthday -- was significantly undermined by Sweet Homes' mismanagement. We arrived to a freezing house with a broken heat pump. Over the first two days we made 16 calls to Sweet Homes, most of which went unanswered for hours. VRBO ultimately had to intervene. Both suggested moving us to another property. Sweet Homes offered one nearby the first night, but we were exhausted from a very long drive and the whole unpacking process. And we had chosen this property specifically for its fenced yard for our two small dogs; alternate properties couldn't match that. Space heaters helped, together with the gas fireplace and baseboard heaters in the bedrooms and baths, but it was still drafty. A technician eventually came, but even with express-shipped parts the heat pump was never repaired. We went the entire two weeks without it. Additional issues included a broken ice maker, missing fireplace remote, non-working DVD players, and a home that hadn't been thoroughly cleaned--dusty surfaces, cobwebs, and dirty windows that obscured the beautiful views when sunlight broke through. We also wish Sweet Homes had warned us about the hazardous beach access, particularly since they knew our ages. We lost at least three days of our vacation to these problems. The owners deserve far better management.

Its in a quiet, comfortable neighborhood not far from the OSU campus. This home had all the amenities you would need for a week long stay - fully amenitized kitchen, huge backyard, plenty of room to spread out after a long day of adventure. In addition, the owner will stock light snacks and breakfast items in the kitchen to get your day started, which was a nice touch. Home was spotless and everything worked as advertised. We will use Fernwood again in our travels to the OSU area!

Salt air destroys wood, making the descent to the beach scary and splinter-y. The wooden stairs to the beach near the restaurant were particularly dangerous. Areas of the stairs did not have the greenery trimmed back, and at the bottom you have to step through dirty silty water. Those stairs are a lawsuit waiting to happen. - The cement staircases inside the hotel actually had danger signs posted. I fear for older people... Yes, there's an elevator, but.... - No ventilation in bathroom. - The built-in heater screen was filthy and hairy-- possible fire hazard? - the bath/shower had a filthy very used rubber bath mat. No thanks. The 1950s are long gone. The very considerate and well-meaning Doggie gift bag was nice, but someone needs to let the hotel know that hard plastic frisbees break dogs' teeth, the plastic water bottles were not safe BPA plastic, so we just left it behind. The very large dining table easily accommodated our group. We appreciated the fast Wi-Fi and the state of the art televisions and associated technology upgrades. Bedrooms were all comfortable with King or Queen beds, and each couple had their own designated bathroom. Beds were comfy with lovely linens; showerheads and flow were fantastic; and all lent to restful nights and happy hearts. From our well-equipped "home" we were able to enjoy the Oregon coast from Newport to Florence, many attractions within easy reach. Unfortunately you have to go through a company or more accurately a person whom in my opinion does not represent the warmth and beauty of " Isabella" please don't let that stop you or turn you away from staying here, it is merely a detail that is easily forgotten once you walk through the door. There was dog pee on the carpets, holes in the two story balcony, leaking dishwasher, broken molding, gum under tables, stained furniture, rusty furniture, bathroom ceiling fans had exposed wires with no covers, dirty floors and hardware that was falling apart. You can also only access 4 closets out of the entire home (5 bedrooms). The rest are locked for the owners... PROPERTY MANAGER; has false advertised the property. The listing states game room and garage. There is no game room and the garage is locked. We also had check-in issues with the manager. Our invoice was also incorrectly stated. When questioned we were thrown to the side. When trying to cancel due to COVID we were told no with no explanation. With all these issues I have spent over 10 hours to reconcile with the booking company and the property manager but I have received no more than I am sorry. Bella Beach should be ashamed of their standards to let a listing be false advertised and to list a home at such bad condition, with no remorse to the renter.

How insulting! this was our 20 year anniversary and the only reason we got this place was for the hot tub. we were so disappointed we will never rent from Portoro blue vacation rentals again. Did not support the reservation so I checked out within and hour. This vacation rental company is so bad Airbnb gave me a full refund. That should tell you everything you need to know but I am going to show pictures of this dirty hotel room please try not to be grossed out.
