Beware of bad daycare Director Tabatha is very rude and has no heart, she will call you with every little thing but when you have a question she can't answer them. She needs to call the owner first. She doesn't even know about the billing. I walked in one day and the Pre-K teacher was yelling at a kid. I felt so bad for the kid, she saw me and stopped. I told Tabatha and she said she would talk to her about it but I heard her again after I said something. For the high price of care you should be able to trust your kids are in the best care when you leave them there. Do not bring your kids here and if you are there now take them out before something bad happens to your kid. read more

PARENTS BEWARE.. I want to caviot this review with the fact that the Infant Room (6 weeks-a year) was AMAZING - I would suggest ANY parent to have Ms. Rajni, Ms. Ani, Ms. Nancy or Ms. Fernanda take care of your child as they take care of these babies like they are their own. With this being said, our daughter transitioned to the Toddler Room at around a year, and this is where we had our issue - the consistent theme being: lack of communication amongst staff and Management. The daily progress sheet went from a detailed account of your child's day, to a vague account of what happened- the form had a standard "nap time" with no specifics as to how long your child naps, a general "what was for snack/lunch" with no specifics as to what and how much your child ate. Shortly after our transition, we were asked to complete a form indicating the frequency in which we would request the staff to apply diaper cream to our child during diaper changes; we completed the form stating that at EVERY diaper change, diaper cream is requested to be applied. (Strike #1): Our first instance of diaper rash we chalked-up to the possibility of acidic foods or it being an isolated incident (this happened 06/2019 in which we talked to the acting Assistant Director to relay our concern). We also asked, if possible, can the teachers let us know how much she slept and what she actually ate during the day (I don't need to know down to the detail, but I would like to know if I am picking up a tired or hungry toddler). This Assistant Director had a "talk" with the teachers in my daughter's room and ensured us that everything should be good going forward based upon our wishes and concerns. (Strike #2):To our surprise, October came around and my daughter came home with more diaper rash (I was apprehensive to attach pictures, but I really feel it is important to show other parents that this is a serious review). I took these pictures to the actual Director the next day to which I was told, "this is not acceptable. I will get to the bottom of this. I am so sorry this happened." (Strike #3): My husband and I first went to my daughters teacher pleading that diaper cream be applied to our daughter at each diaper change, but before we even had a chance to talk to her, we noticed that the state DCFS Regulation of 1:5 (one teacher per every 5 children) was NOT being adhered to this poor teacher had what looked to be 1:8-10.. this is a BIG "no-no." I then received a phone call the same day confirming that the staff in my daughter's Toddler Room were NOT applying diaper cream as we wished at every diaper change. After this, I went into "mama bear" mode and found a new daycare that we felt could care for our daughter as promised. We signed the registration paperwork and paid our registration fee. (STRIKE #4): My husband and I went together to give our 2-weeks notice of leaving, as asked by the center when we enrolled our daughter. We spoke to the Director and during the conversation of us answering her question of "why?" we were met with a snarky, unprofessional and curt comment of: "So the new place is going to be able to tell you how many teaspoons of peas your kid eats?" If the Director speaks to paying parents, who have never been late on a payment or late picking their child up for a whole year and a half, how does she speak to her employees?! *smh* Daily, during pick up, for a week and a few days I was pleaded with asking us to say and not remove our daughter. the office Manager revised he daily form to try and meet the request to have a more detailed account of all of he toddler's days. (STRIKE #5): We were on our last and final week at Learning Loft, and I pick up my child on 10/22/19. Her neck is irritated (maybe from her rubbing it, not sure) but upon asking her teachers in her room why her neck was so red, the part-time staff member said to me - "you know, I noticed this, too" (pointing to her back). I then asked the two teachers in her room what happened - no one knew what happened. I just about lost my mind. No one knew what happened to my child. No incident report, nothing. Which is just astounding to me; my child was not being watched so no one knew anything happened to her, so no one filed out an incident report. My daughter's last day was supposed to be 10/25/19 - but I on the spot told them - today is her last day. I cleared her cubby of our belongings and left with tears rolling down my face, mortified. I realize things happen to kids; I realize my child is not he only child in he class..kids get bumps/bruises and eat dirt. But my biggest concern here is that the communication amongst staff, management, and parents is just not acceptable. There are NOT enough teachers to students in terms of ratios at all times, processes and procedures are no adhered to on a consistent enough basis, and depending upon which room your child is in, depends on he level of care and attention to deal you receive. read more

First off, I have no words for the one-star reviews I just read through. Recognizing that the majority of them happened well in the past ("early 2000's"), I don't believe the current staff should be held accountable for incidents occurring decades ago and cannot fathom this happening there today. As for the most recent 1-star review, while I'm sure your rationale for leaving LL was justified, if you were truly that concerned about your child's welfare, why wouldn't you have left immediately? IDK...I'm just a mom with some thoughts. What I'm really here to say is that I love Learning Loft. I am a parent with children currently enrolled in Learning Loft. I have experience with the infant room, 3's through Pre-K, and can say confidently that my children are loved and supported in a thriving and consistent environment. The teachers genuinely care about the kids and ultimately that's what matters. I want my kids to feel safe and comfortable. My children have routines, ways to explore their creativity, special units where they learn about new things. My infant daughter is in a clean room with the most loving caretakers, surrounded by enriching toys and activities. Trying to navigate this pandemic world we live in has been difficult, and Learning Loft has been able to cultivate a clean and safe place for our kids to get reliable care and education. KNOCK ON WOOD we've been relatively unscathed from COVID shutdowns and that makes it easier to concentrate on my job, making Learning Loft a great option for those who need to work and therefore need reliable care. My child was attending and had a chair thrown at her head and had a bruise, cut and bump. I was told the teacher should have left the room to call me because the director was to busy to call (lied to my face as teachers doesn't have parent numbers). I was told several times she was to busy to call me. When there dropping and picking up my kid I saw and heard that kids were choking others, smacking/hitting, jumping on table, toys flying across the room as the list goes on the few minutes during drop off and pick up. I would ask for an invoice several times and was told she had no idea what an invoice/receipt was. They are slow to respond to any questions on phone calls or emails(weeks). Asked for a yearly Calendar for when they are closed and was told they didn't have such a thing. The place is very disorganized. They also only take weekly checks which is annoying for a busy working mom of 3. I gave them several chances to make things right and they just don't care and Lie to your face. read more

I can't say enough good things about Learning Loft. I have a 6 month old in the infant room and 2 year old (who started off in the infant room). The infant room is always clean and they have a great system in place. The teachers are very caring and the children are always happy whenever I am there. While they do not have a phone app to keep track of the kids all day, they are great with communication. I call or email to check on the kids when they are under the weather or starting something new (baby food, potty training, etc) and I am always given great feedback. I love that they take the kids outside in the summer and fall -- basically they try to get the kids outside every day (weather permitting). In the summer they go on long walks and to parks around the area. I do not think other day care facilities do this. In the summer they have themes each week and sprinkler days. They do a lot of little things that make the day really fun and educational for the kids. I could go on, but at the end of the day the most important take away is that my kids are well taken care of and happy. Thank you LL Staff for always giving me peace of mind. I would add that I am shocked by some of the negative (1 stars) reviews and I find them very hard to believe. I am the definition of a helicopter parent and I watch everything when I am there. I have dropped in from time to time unannounced and I have never ever seen behavior from a teacher that I felt was inappropriate or children that seemed neglected. read more

I visited 4-5 different centers in the area before we joined and called at least 5 more for information. I chose Learning Loft because the center was clean, there were separate spaces for each age category to allow for quiet time/naps without interruptions, the outdoor play area is fenced in, private, and off a main road, and the teachers and director had been there for several years. I immediately liked the teachers I talked to and the other parents were friendly at my visit. Oh, and number one was the COST was extremely competitive. As an independent center, they gave us a deeper discount than other places for more than one child enrolled and this was important as we were beginning with an almost 2 year old and infant twins! We have been at LL for 5 years now. Our kids have had a great experience. Their potty training program is amazing (I still almost feel guilty I didn't do much of anything), our kids have learned at the appropriate level, our oldest was a bit ahead of her peers upon entering Kindergarten, the discipline in the classrooms have been balanced so they learn to respect adults and their friends but in a kind way, and the teachers and director have always been open to my questions and feedback. It is very low tech (don't expect daily e-mails or much electronic communication) but this likely also keeps their costs down. They do very cute programs for the parents (Mother's Day tea, Holiday program, adorable graduation ceremony from Pre-K) and the summer camp has been fantastic too. I would recommend to anyone in the area who is looking for full time care for their young ones. It is always hard to leave your children somewhere so you can work but I've never questioned their happiness, safety, or well-being at the Learning Loft! read more

I just want to say from first hand experience me and my two siblings actually attended this daycare when we were younger I was about maybe 10 or 11 at the time I am finally old enough to speak up about the abuse me and my siblings endured. My parents didn't speak up as well because they didn't speak English and had no way of doing something about this day care. I remember very vividly these so called " teachers " shoving a tomato down my little brothers throat while he begged and cried that he didn't like tomatoes he was gagging so bad he almost threw up in front of the whole class. I also remember Debbie the DIRECTOR BY THE WAY! Sitting on top of the children while they're hands were on their lap they would cry and say she was to heavy and begged her to get off them. Please don't bring your children here I had so many more traumatic memories because of this place! THIS IS COMING FROM SOMEONE WHO USED TO BE TAKEN CARE OF FROM THERE!!!!! Upon ringing the doorbell I was greeted at the door by someone who never introduce themselves nor asked my name or even asked me if I wanted to come into the building. I was then questioned about my child's age and his potty training habits. Again, this was all before ever entering the building. I asked about hours and I was instructed on what the late pick up policies would be instead of simply stating the hours. I don't know that this group of people has the ability to talk to adults in the proper manner let alone take care of our most prized possession, our children. Think twice before visiting. read more

My daughter attends Learning Loft. I visited many daycare centers in the area, and Learning Loft was hands down the perfect option for our family! Unlike many chain facilities, Learning Loft is cozy and cheerful with a comfortably busy atmosphere. Kids are learning and playing everywhere you look. I am particularly impressed with the program for young children. The expectations are consistent and developmentally appropriate. Alphabet Letters, numbers/counting, and colors are explored everyday. Not to mention the constant reinforcement of positive social interactions. As early as 2 y/o kids are going on nature walks and trips to nearby playgrounds. The learning opportunities are countless. I would whole heartedly recommend Learning Loft to anyone looking for quality child care. read more

Two children at Learning Loft for 5 years. In baby room, toddler room, and up to 3 year old room, they really did enjoy days at LL. Caregivers/teachers were sweet and really cared for the children and babies. The facility is clean. There is ample areas to play; the playground is small but large enough for each age group. Some of the old toys need to be thrown out. Negatives--meals are a mess. Food is served one item at a time. When school age children arrive for after-care, the place is packed (too many kids for number of adults, I thought). No employee EVER assists or helps a parent coming in or leaving. (I find this weird as I watched a mother with twins struggling to get inside!) By age 5, our kids were burned out of LL. There was no enthusiasm from teachers (one used a very loud voice all the time!) Finally, we left. But in the first 3 years, Learning Loft is great due to the caregivers who really love kids. The kids do learn to count and colors and songs--but do kids really need to be learning so much at age 3? read more
