Visiting from Columbus for a concert so stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon to check things out. The bar was empty when we arrived around 4pm shortly after they opened which was expected. Only the patio was open which was ok since it was perfect patio weather. Everyone was friendly and the mixed drinks were poured strong. Would definitely go back to check this place out when there are more people there. Note- we had to walk all the way to the back to enter the patio, all of the doors to main bar were locked. read more

Honestly this bar is a prime example of incredible raw potential paired with unfortunate under utilization. This is the only place where you can truly let your inner monster out but it's held back by a cash only grill and rare utilization of both bars. The dance floor is held back by way too many tables and the staff is either incredibly charming or rude. It's hit or miss whenever you go. read more

Located on St. Clair (more appropriately St. Sleaze Street), the Leather Stallion is the old standby bar of the gay Leathermen/levy crowd. It's been home base to a few of the gay motorcycle clubs like the Unicorns and a general watering hole for the "bear," s&m, bdsm crowd for many years. But, as with most bars of this type, gradually slipping out of fashion and style with the younger uninitiated set. You don't enter through the front door. Instead you proceed down a small alleyway entering through a side door or, at times, going to the end of the alleyway there is an open entrance directly onto a large outdoor patio area. The Leather Stallion is generally a fun place to visit even if you aren't a part of the Leather crowd. Indeed, it is now home bar for a good number of gay leather queen or leather lite wannabe types discovering their way through the leather circuit of life. The place opens daily at 4:00pm regardless that the front door says 3:00pm. On weekends they used to have great, really fun type barbecues (technically grilling) with offerings of hamburgers. Leave it to some leather queen to be unable to get the signs coordinated for nearly a decade. The patio area is large with yet a patio bar out back. There are plenty of tables and in the patio and because of the ivy shrouded walls surrounding the patio area, has a very pleasant outdoorsy type of ambiance to it. The inside area has a lobby of sorts and you step down into the main bar. Most of the patrons are fun loving, pleased to meet newcomers and enter into conversation. The place has been here seemingly forever, and because it is rather popular I am amazed that I am the first to review it. read more

We were traveling from Washington DC to Toronto by road. My first ever road trip that I always wanted to do (than being cramped in an airplane). We had to make 2 stops in Cleveland, Ohio and I wanted to check out the gay bars. We had gone to others around the area but this one was the best one. As outsiders we were a little nervous of the location and the area as well as entering the bar. It was a small bar with an older crowd on a Wednesday but everyone was so welcoming and friendly. It caught us off guard honestly... very welcoming bar and it goes to show looks can be deceiving sometimes (like hole in the wall restaurants). I would love to come back here during the summer or pride, where everyone told us it's the best time to go! read more

They are not keeping their customers aware of the status of the bar --- when will it open? Is it for sale? Are they short on money? Come on guys -- keep your customer base advised. Bad management style to not share what's going on. The closing has given me a chance to experience Cocktails and Twist -- both fun experiences. LSS better be aware I saw a number of "LSS Regulars" in both bars!!! read more

Its all about inclusiveness and community. I am new to the area but it's nice to see that places like this still exist, that are welcoming to everyone and that are places for many LGBTQ+ groups to gather and celebrate! read more

As mentioned the oldest Leather and Levi bar in Cleveland. Despite the whispers of ~scary Leathermen~ and the like, I've always enjoyed my experiences here. Definitely a Gay Bar out of the time when that meant something. A Cleveland original in many ways. Home to the Unicorns and Rangers Uniform Club. EDIT: Know your Hanky Code, folks still do that at times here and it's usually fun. The local Leather titles are held here, so you have your Mr. Cleveland Leather, Ms. Cleveland Leather, Cleveland Puppy, etc. Drinks are well priced and the atmosphere depends on where you are in the bar. The patio is fun in summer, and the various title contests bring a nice crowd. read more

First the good: The patio is awesome in the summer time. It has to be one of the biggest in Cleveland. Usually lots of people there on Summer nights. Most of staff is fairly friendly and the events are always a good time. Now the bad: First the new owner Ken (who is very handsome)will surely try to charm you and trick you into buying him (the owner) a shot! He invited me to the bar for a shot, and then once we had them told me to pay the bartender. I wouldn't even mention it but I have talked to three other people and they said he did the SAME EXACT thing to them!! You would think, being the owner, he might pay for the shots if he is inviting people. He already has a bad reputation among many of my friends and a lot of them wont go back. Also, among the regulars that frequent this bar, a lot of them are HIV positive. This is not a problem at all except some of them are not honest about their status. So be extra cautious and play safe if taking someone home from this bar. The inside is pretty run down and the bathrooms are tiny and gross...but it is a leather bar and you don't find a lot of those with 5 star amenities. I will return to this bar, but I will be damned if the owner gets another shot out of me. read more

Now that a new owner, Dan, has taken over you should at least return and judge for yourself how great this bar and its community can be. Staff is friendly (and nice..in a very great way). Certainly NOT out-of-fashion and the 'younger uninitiated' (gotta' Google uninitiated someday). It is a great place to visit and meet and make new friends or even hook-up with friends you have. Actually three (3) drink-serving areas depending on the crowd/night. Pool Table and on Tue. Corn-Hole for those inclined. Check out the Calendar so as to keep yourself posted on special events.
