Leatherback brewing is a great place to spend an afternoon in St. Thomas. The beer is excellent. If there have a Thanksgiving 2025 beer. It is for lack of a better description, a dessert beer. Aged in rum barrels with added spices like nutmeg and cinnamon. Service is great! The "normy" beers are excellent as well. read more

Ocean breeze, relaxation, and beer-there's not much bad that can be said when those are the 3 starting ingredients! Leatherback definitely excelled in customer service, ambiance, and fun! We arrived as they were playing live music and bingo. Everyone was having an amazing time including the staff. We arrived for a tasting and our host, Mikey P. happily obliged and poured us our first tasting for us to enjoy as we began the tour. He was informative, kind, and you could tell he genuinely enjoyed his job. He gave us a good overview of the brewery, gave us insight about weekend events, and shared his recommendations on things to do. Came for good beer. Left with good beer and good food! The Reef Life and Bush Life were my favorites from the few beers I tried. Highly recommend both. But what's a beer without food, right? I got a pizza for the table, and some wings on the side. The pizza was way better than I expected, and made me kinda mad I ended up sharing it. However, the wings made up for my loss of pizza. Ended up with the BBQ wings, and they were the most delicious wings I've had in a while. May have been the day I went, but I recommend both! Leatherback makes some great beer, I'm partial to "Island Life" myself. We've been having it all over St Croix, so decided we'd stop in and visit the brewery. They don't have any tours of the place, but we went up to a viewing stand and saw the packaging going on. From the big brew kettles, to the cans, lids and labels on, to becoming a case and on to the pallets and off they go. It was kinda cool to watch the process. They had all their beers on tap there. The food was pretty much limited to pizza, so we passed on lunch there. Everyone was welcoming and friendly! read more

Dropped by on a Saturday to try their beer out. They had a small batch beer available- RumBassador. It was pretty good. We even took a four pack home. Small batch four packs are $16. The regular 6 packs are $10. About average price everywhere you go for these beers on the island. We did a beer tasting. Four pours for $10. My favorite was the WAPA star fruit sour. The area is a good size. They have bar seating, outside and inside seating. Parking is on site. Don't leave without playing the Shake. Ask the bartender about it. read more

Great brewery tasting room. (I wouldn't describe it as a brewpub.) Excellent fresh beer, brewed right here. Usually ten on tap, most of which are available only here at the brewery. Their IPA and hefeweizen are excellent. Food menu is a bit limited on Sundays. Staff is excellent, very knowledgeable friendly. Free WiFi. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, an awesome company swag store, and cornhole boards set up outside for entertainment. The bartenders are always friendly and good about checking on their customers and the food is worth the wait while enjoying the seabreeze and far off view of the ocean. I enjoy how Leatherback is really trying to be a part of the St Croix community especially with the environmental efforts they are making like making different packaging choices and excepting recycling in their taproom. With craft beer scene explosion it is hard to stand out but I feel even if they weren't the only craft brewery on St Croix they would. They have a great logo and the merchandise to match, very friendly staff, and a wonderful open area to enjoy their beer. So on to their beer! When we went they had 5 beers on tap a saison, an Amber, a special infused saison, an IPA, and a blonde. All of them were very well done and the IPA was not as full of IBU's as I like but was good and most IPA lovers will enjoy it. They also have a basic bar type food menu we had the beer cheese nachos which were good I just wish they had a few more chips:) if you are on St Croix this place is a visit. read more

Missed the grand opening in May so we decided to stop by and have a beer. Pulled in and what's going on? What's with all the cars and the food truck going on.... First Annual VI Corn Hole Tournament, live music and looked like a taco truck outside. We managed to get a seat at the bar, inside away from the hustle and bustle outside. Several beers were out of stock, I guess the Corn Hole players drained the kegs early. Tried an Island Lager which wasn't bad, middle of the road lager but a good fit for island drinking. Its great that Leatherback is on the island and is offering both kegs, bottles and cans for its product. And did I say kegs..... its nice to have draft beer choices in the island between Leatherback and Brew STX. Cuts down on the bottles and cans in the landfill on the island. read more

It's a brewery, OK? They serve... you guessed it - beer! But they also have soft drinks, and some food. We tried them out last Sunday.we had lunch while sampling a few of their brews. The Octoberfest was probably my favorite, followed by the Mango IPA. Both were very flavorful. We had the fish tacos, and the tuna melt, both of which were very good. The tacos were a bit skimpy, but the tuna melt was huge. All in all, it was a great experience. Saw several people we knew, and enjoyed live entertainment. Would suggest a little more food variety - even just more bar food. read more
