Friendly staff with a plethora of ice cream choices including soft serve, waffle cones, and floats!

My wife and I decided to get an ice cream tonight. We drove by Leavitts and there was a long line so we decided to run an errand first. as we returned later I noticed there wasn't a line . it was 8:06 and a few people were just going to their cars and a woman standing on the deck eating her ice cream said they were closed . I was surprised but waited a few minutes only to see a gentleman walk up to the window with prayer hands and get served . it was not right not to serve me but serve him even coming after me . I called to speak to a manager and they told me that they have to close at a certain time . rules are rules right but only for some . I was never so embarrassed / mad in my life . last year we also had trouble getting double charged / soft serve ice cream was like soup ... If I were you I would go someplace else for your ice cream. This place has the best ice cream in the area hands down. My husband I recently moved here and we were on a mission to try different places to find #1. Leavitt's won hands down. There isnt even a close second. We can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can resume our weekly Leavitt's outing. read more

found hair in my husbands Sunday, tried to get a refund or just have it remade and was met with extreme hostility and nastiness. not sure how this place has these 5 star reviews but I'm assuming they are begging family to put fake ones to raise their rating. You are better off buying a tub of ice cream from Market Basket vs getting sick at this place. Never again will I waste my time and money on this place. read more

A long time coming, I have been twice - I thought the first bad time was a one-off and gave it a second try when family came to visit. There is a chill in the air when you walk into this place, and not the charming kind - more of a cautionary "brace yourself for copious amounts of attitude, sprinkled with sighs". The staff, apparently graduates of the Academy of Apathetic Service, greeted me like I owed them a personal apology for existing. I had to repeat my order twice-twice!, and was still asked to recite it again, as if I were participating in an ice-cream memory exam. I understand why, as each repetition landed softly on deaf ears, and then melted away faster than the room temperature frappe you eventually get. In the end our order was still wrong on a very basic level... I ordered a small chocolate chip with "jimmies" on a cone, it arrived as a small oreo cookie w/rainbow sprinkles in a cup, when I pointed out it was wrong, the girl asked "Are you sure", I replied I am positive as I despise oreo cookies, of which I received a very inconvenient sigh. My wife and both daughter's orders were correct for the most part - some clear confusion on what chocolate spinkles and rainbow sprinkles are, they opted to just settle for what they got. My sister in-law's order was special - she ordered a junior ice cream sundae with the fixings, but was handed a banana split where even the flavors where wrong, honest! My feeling was that they could care less. And if indifference were a flavor, they'd be churning it fresh daily. Management? Somewhere in the mythical realm of Profit Above Service. They either know about this, should know about this, or they simply don't care as long as coins hit the till. As long as they get their money, the tale ends there for them, there is no customer care, just cha-ching and NEXT!. Really, there are far too many other options in the ares, with better prices, saner processions, and staff who won't summon a thunderstorm of attitude and condescension. I mean seriously try literally anywhere else. Even the gas-station freezer aisle has better vibes and you get it the way you want it. Final verdict: It did not disappoint in disappointing. Do yourself, your sanity and your family a favor and go to Memories, Twin Lantern, Stillwell's, Lago or take the ride to Middleton, and enjoy some ice creams and fun times at Richardson's or better yet, take the 45 minute ride to Kimball Farm in Westford which is the best. read more

The mark up on their ice cream is insane, especially when the service is disrespectful. I asked if they could use a clean scoop for my daughter's vanilla (she really hates the taste of strawberry) and they told me that they don't make allowances for "fussy kids". Um, okay? Just seemed a little rude when my 4 year old is just there, but OK. I'd avoid if you have kids, they obviously don't like them. read more

I love this place! I've been going here since I was a little girl. The current workers and staff members are really nice and polite. The ice cream is soooo good, in my opinion I love the traditional banana spilt for two people ! It's so yummy. The sitting area has always been a bit dirty tho but my family has always eaten in the car but there are two side where you can sit so we always end up in clean seats so no complaints here. The view tho is so pretty it's a big open field. It mostly get packed when it's time for sundown bc there's a very pretty view. read more

I believe this place is now Leavitt's Ice Cream. They serve ice cream from Richardson's Dairy in Middleton, MA. Excellent ice cream with a variety of flavors from Cake Batter, the Green Monster, German Chocolate Cake and Grapenut Custard. A nice place to stop if you're on your way back to Massachusetts from a trip to New Hampshire. There a few picnic tables to sit at while you enjoy your ice cream. Order the small or the kiddie size because their servings are gigantic. read more

The ice cream and frozen yogurt is very good but the customer service is horrible. For instance, just today I ask for Heath crunch topping. Instead of telling me they don't have it, they gave me a different crunch topping and unfortunately I didn't look in my bag until (1) paid my "card" only and (2) was home. My bad. I called to say they gave me the wrong topping and the woman said I was out of luck and they didn't have what I asked for. Then hung up on me. Doesn't sound like a big deal but at 75 cents per customer, that adds up. I don't like being ripped off. Be aware. My absolute favorite place to get ice cream. They have an excellent selection of flavors for those just in the mood for hard ice cream in a cup or a cone. They also have a great selection of other items like sundaes, soft serve ice cream, milk shakes, slush and sherbet. My favorite thing about this place is that they have a "Doggie Sundae" for my dog as well; its vanilla soft serve in a cup with dog buscuits and it makes my dog ridiculously happy every time we bring her there to get one. Anyone place that is dog friendly enough to accommodate them with their own special menu item is a place after my own heart. That alone is one of the many reasons I'll keep coming back here, year after year. read more

I only have 1 flavor of ice cream EVER. It has to be soft-serve vanilla. After trying EVERY soft serve in Salem, Hampstead and not being pleased ( they all taste like frozen milk, no flavor) I went to try Leavitts today and FINALLY! PERFECTION!! So creamy and full of vanilla flavor, I cant wait to go back!! I wish I could try there ice cream it must be wonderful also. read more
