My visit was initially very hectic on the inside. Some regulars guided me to where I order and told me that they've never seen it as busy as it was today. I came today (Friday) at noon. The regulars also gave me a brief history about the place and told me that everything on the menu was fantastic. Leblanc's has a very nice family atmosphere and I even had a worker on the hot lunch line offer to check on my order after 40 minutes. The place was super busy so be prepared to wait for a while at lunch time. As the sign says, "it's good food, not fast food." It took 50 minutes to place my order and receive my food. During this time waiting I did become enticed by the hot lunch that had catfish and fried chicken. Visually their food on the hot lunch line appeared miles ahead of what's served at the Jett's Food Mart. The inside of the restaurant was pretty clean and well maintained given the storied history of the building. I walked away with a cheeseburger and fries with a vegetable plate containing broccoli rice, cabbages and okra and tomato. The burger patty was less seasoned than I expected but it was a good quality homestyle burger. They serve all toppings on the burger except ketchup. Nothing to complain about. The fries were also a great complement. There is also plenty of salt, pepper and other condiments that you can use to your liking. The vegetable plate was absolutely fantastic and flavorful. Cabbages were full of tender meat and the broccoli rice has visible onions, plenty of cheese and was very delicious. I have a feeling that this is the best hot lunch line in Zachary. The food is almost as good as I remember. Took longer than I remember to get food, like thirty five minutes! And that was for basic burger combo. Next time I'll definitely call ahead of time. This is a very mom & pop place. I'm happy to eat here any time. I think it is good but I've never had anything here that was better than good. Today was a large order so I got to try a lot of menu items I never tried before. I'll review them all here: Hamburger - tastes homemade, you know? It's good and a good amount of meat. I always love it when I can get grilled onions added so that's a plus. Corndog - Much better than Sonic. Nothing unusual about the taste. Seafood Plate - a couple pieces of the fish were slightly fishy but the rest was good. I enjoyed the shrimp. I saw that it comes with "salad" on the menu and they even asked what dressing I wanted, but it was literally just shredded iceberg lettuce and 1 slice of tomato. So that was weird! I'm happy with the amount of seafood it came with. And I thought it tasted good, not too salty. The onion rings, tator tots, curly fries, and mozzarella sticks were all good. I think I would've enjoyed them more if they were crispy. The Fries were very basic, very plain, on the soft side. Again, I prefer crispy. But like I said, I'm happy to eat here any time. Long time since I ate at Leblanc's. The service is great, due to my mobility issues, they brought my food out. Actually the only thing I can complain about is tasted like old grease and lots of it. Bags were really greasy, not good on the stomach but can say the seafood box was worth it. Great portions, no other complaints. I'll eat there again. read more

Man, this has been one of my favorite spots in Zachary since forever. But after today, unfortunately, I will not be patronizing this local business any time soon. The lunch service was extremely poor, my order wasn't located until after I requested a refund....which came about 45 mins after waiting and watching them serve everyone else the same thing I ordered....a shrimp poboy and a cheeseburger special. I stood at the counter and watched people walk in and order the same and walk out with their food while I was still waiting for mine. I think it was being told by the older lady at the register that those were call in orders was what made me want to do a review. Not sure why she thought I would believe that lie, she would have done better to say we messed up and I'm sorry about that. But I was given a refund for the foolery. And to avoid the feeling of frustration I felt in that moment, I will not be returning, since apparently having a large crowd is justification for having poor service levels. read more

One of the worst if not the worst shrimp Poyboy I have ever had. $24 for a Poyboy,fries and drink. This is worse than airport pricing. The worst part is there was bread than shrimp,not even enough shrimp to fill the sandwich up. I have eaten here off and on since I went to Baker in the 80's. This is sad what it has become. In Zachary there aren't a huge selection of options for food. In particular if one is in search for something that isn't fried, he or she may want to venture further out. I was super excited when I purchased this salad, but sadly disappointed when I noticed the hair. The thing that added insult to injury was the lackluster customer service received when I brought it back for a refund. I was reminded of their policy. This is a counter service restaurant. They have great plate lunch offers and a huge menu with lots of choices . The service is good but it's usually packed . The food is yummy and the prices are pretty good as well. I got the red beans and rice plate lunch with hamburger steak instead of sauce then I got apple cobbler , cabbage and a piece of cornbread for $9.50 I will definitely be going back again yummy! read more

I Totally Agree With The Other Customers, Those Young People Have No Social Skills At All, I ordered several items for dine-in and the young lady says to me in a rude tone, "I hope you eat it all" I had to maintain Professionalism and charge it to her stupidity, now she said that because I asked her to please stop sweeping around me, so RUDE!!!! Great customer service! The menu has A LOT of variety! It's thick! The food isn't overly seasoned or salty. With that being said, I didn't like the burgers. They are not seasoned at all they taste like ground beef (if that makes sense). You can taste it's not seasoned thorough the many condiments. No flavor. I love their fish plate. It's seasoned but not too much. The fries and hush puppies are good! I would definitely recommend calling in your order. They aren't slow getting your food, but they are always busy and I like to get in and out. I want to try their hot lunch menu and other things on the regular menu. I ordered the seafood box, minus the salad, extra fries. The catfish was seasoned and breaded perfectly. Light and fluffy batter, thick fillets. The shrimp was also the same and good size. French fries were decent not the best. I also ordered a cheeseburger and curly fries, with chili, cheese and jalapeños. THEY WERE GREAT!!! The cheeseburger was a good and well homemade fully dressed. Overall my experience was good. The service was good and prices were fair, especially for the quality of the food. I will be back, only next time I will order on my way there. We haven't been there in years. Customer service is terrible. Lady that runs the place is rude and nasty. Food is mediocre at best. The placed smelled like an old dirty mop and burnt grease. There are way better options in town. I'd rather go to Walk Ons or Cajun Catch. I'm sure 30 or 40 years ago it was a good small town place to eat but that time has long come and gone. read more

It's hard to review this place because the food really is soooooo good. But the service is not. There is one lady in particular is just so short and impatient and flat out rude to everyone. I guess since she is that is the atmosphere that has been cultivated in the place and therefore no one cares to offer service because well, they don't have to. They are a part of the Waitr delivery service and every time I've ordered on the app there's been an issue with any requests I've made. I mean I've gotten calls every time. Lol. One night we went in for dinner and they were out of just about everything we thought we wanted to eat. Sometimes words and feelings towards a place do not translate well through written words, and I am by no means a professional writer. My family loves the homemade hamburgers with the curly cue French fries. The homemade old style chocolate malt shakes are so reminiscent of the way malts used to be made. Delicious. The kids love the yellow corn chips with the warm cheese dip.
