    Uncooked!

Your amateur backyard barbecue wanna be! I paid $300 for a cooked Cebu Lechon instead I was given a raw and almost burnt skin it's like chewing rocks which were suppose to be crunchy. Buddy learn about temperature at least 200F for the thicker parts of the hog! I felt really embarrassed in front of my family serving this for Christmas!

Like it's still kinda hard- like left over. It's not the newly cooked soft and fluffy kind. I almost choked. lol. But they do give you free soup with the meal! The halo halo is $10 dollars with only 1 scoop of ice cream and it's 1 size only. Pretty pricey. Since Kalesa is in Milpitas this would suffice. Kalesa sell their halo halo for $10 dollars but with 2 scoops of ice cream and it's a pretty big dish and shareable between 2-3 people if you eat it there. Btw, the servers here at Rene don't wear gloves or hair net if it mattered. Taste is a little different today. I told the lady server we were to eat in, but they'd put the food in the to-go container...uh ok. But gave the other family paper plates! We were in the area and don't frequent here much but it's decent toro-toro or like a taqueria kind of an eatery. I wish they would wear an apron or something when handling food. To make it shown how serious they are about sanitation. Or to not put back the unordered or cancelled food back into the tray.

You could tell they had used a word document. I've attached a pic of their old menu (Feb 2026) and the new menu is a bit of an improvement. The important thing is to sort of ignore all the AI-generated images and trust that they will feed you well. Friends have been going here or to their other location for years and it's been delicious! Good portion sizes, in my opinion. They were a lot busier than last time we were here, because of the World Cup finals - so service was a little slower. We did not get the included soup but we were vibing with the unlimited mimosas and didn't mind (otherwise we would have asked). The unlimited mimosas were a good deal - they ask you which juices you'd like and drop it off at your table, and the champagne is self-serve - we went through 2-3 bottles I think! Shanghai lumpias were delicious and piping hot and my friends enjoyed their loco mocos. I enjoyed the chicken fried steak and those two pieces were crispy and perfectly to my tastes!! We've also enjoyed their silog plates in the past and they were delicious, although the only criticism is that I can't tell that there's garlic in the garlic rice. I definitely recommend Tapsilog Cantina and it's one of our go-to brunches in the area!

The container of pork was unappetizing and there were large chunks of fat attached like they didn't even try to attempt to trim it, not to mention the bits of fat floating in the soup. $3 for extra veggies: looked like a couple more daikon radishes and half of a tomato. I felt like I was taking a teaspoon of fish sauce with each spoonful of the soup, even on rice (heated up a quick Trader Joe's brown rice because this doesn't even include a small side of rice with such a large portion of soup). I would have rather have half the amount of meat and a free side of rice. I don't know how this wouldn't turn people off who aren't familiar with Filipino food. It looked so unhealthy and tasted incredibly too salty.

The produce section was not as extensive as those at other Asian markets, but it was still adequate. However, the store carried many unique candies and snacks that I have not seen elsewhere. Notably, sakura flavored products were especially common during my visit. There were two large sections dedicated to premade meals, including rice bowls, hand rolls, onigiri, and sushi. The rolls seemed overly heavy on the rice, with relatively little fish filling. The prices also felt somewhat high for the portion sizes. However, the store offers a 20 percent discount on sushi and bento boxes daily after 6 PM. I ordered the nigiri combination, which included salmon, tuna, and scallop. The scallop was plump, and the tuna was sliced thickly. The salmon was slightly thin but still rich and fatty. Overall, the fish quality was good. The sushi rice was above average, with a distinct vinegar flavor despite being refrigerated. The total cost for the eight pieces was close to restaurant pricing, though the convenience factor partly justified it. I would rate this market a 3.5 out of 5 but rounded up for the good sushi rice. I would recommend shopping elsewhere for produce, but this is a good place for snacks and premade meals, especially after 6 PM.

Servers were all awesome, and I wouldve eaten here again, if not for the fact that the manager basically told me I couldnt get a refill on banchan to go, on my $120 meal... So did he expect me to just eat the samgyupsal I had just the meat alone? We'll never know, because Im never coming back. After he tells me this, he then proceeds to peek behind the kitchen curtain giving me the stinkeye multiple times, AND told his server to not give me the refill. Honestly, weird hill to die on for him, otherwise this wouldve been a 4/5 review and they wouldve landed a regular customer. Food 5/5 Meat was fresh and the sauces and sides were all good, I now know why it was a pretty dead even match with Gooyi Gooyi their neighbor. I did notice though that they dont refill your banchan on your own, you'd have to ask for it, as opposed to other similar *neighboring* restaurants who just automatically do it for you. Small thing, just nitpicking at this point. Service 3/5 2 korean ladies, 1 younger and 1 older were great, and I hope they continue to get great tips for their awesome service in the future! Ambience 4/5 Typical family owned korean bbq place, nothing fancy, but not dirty either. It was just fried without the extra sauce. Not bad. It was piping hot and cooked to order. Skin was crispy. Pieces were small, which I appreciated for wings. Super large chicken parts gross me out as they're pumped full of hormones, so I prefer smaller pieces anyway. These were the perfect size. It would be nice to try their grilled meat since they had grilling stations and vents at the tables. I just didn't feel like doing the work today. All together, not a bad experience.
