Been wanting to check this place out for a while because of the great reviews I've come across. I came with a group of guys and we ordered a mix of sisig, pork adobo, le Jon kawali, beef stew, kare kare, and Bicol express! Everything was delicious and even more so, the portions were so generous. We also got soup on the house since were dining in. Overall the workers were so kind and generous with the portions (although I could've had more rice) and I'll definitely be coming back to try my way through their whole menu!

I grew up on Guam eating lots of Filipina aunties' cooking over the years. This place is amazing from every facet. Food is authentically delicious. Just like how a Filipina auntie and grandma would make at home. The BBQ sauce/marinade is slight sweet and Smokey. Absolutely delicious. Dineguan is spot on. Kare kare can be a little bit more on peanut flavor but not lacking at all. The portions and the ingredients were generous. Lots of pieces of meat for even in the dineguan (often pork offcuts/innards in pork blood stew). Edit to add: Sinigang was perfect balance of sour and flavors from the ingredients. One of my favorite sinigangs I've ever had, including what I make at home. Price point was a steal! 65 bucks for a table full of food that can easily feed 5 people. Definitely my new regular Filipino food spot!

Whenever I'm craving some good Filipino comfort food, this is my go-to spot! I am a huge fan of their pancit bihon and the pork skewers, however they have a lot of delicious food, like sisig, lechón, and adobo. It is a pretty cozy spot that has some indoor seating, though it is popular for take out. The staff have always been friendly the times that I've been there. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're ever looking for a quick bite and some authentic Filipino food!

I only came here once so I'm not sure yet. But it's good for fast food. The food that I order is okay?

Came here for breakfast before heading out to the city and it was just okay. Nothing special at all. The tapa was more like bistek and super oily. The egg was hard boiled which is not what you want for any silog. We wanted to eat goat and they didn't have any despite it being Sunday. I prefer the longanisa to be cooked a bit longer. And the ukoy was just okay. Service was not great. Felt rushed and couldn't understand the lady. There was ample seating as it was early in the morning. Feel like their cooking is definitely not the same when they had the smaller location.

Someone recommended this place. And we happen to be in the area. Its likes a Panda Express but Filipino. Classic filipino dishes. Lots of togo but you can eat there if you want. We went at lunch time on a weekday and it was occupied by lots of people. Line got long after us. Clean inside. I liked that there were enough workers to get thru the busy time. Staff were pretty nice and very helpful. We got these: 2 Barbecue Ribs With Rice 1 Lechon 2 Item Combo Everything we ordered was good. Private lot in front

I was craving Filipino food and I was in the area. Checked Yelp and this place popped up. Reviews looked good so I drove to it. Walked in around 1PM and all the seats were occupied. That's a good look, so I decided to try it. They have plenty of dishes to choose from. However they are known for their Filipino BBQ. I wasn't interested in the BBQ, just didn't look appealing. Reading reviews. I saw that Caldareta was good. So, first I decided to get Bistek. They had pork or beef and I chose beef. They didn't have much left, so I had a lot of onions and the guy said he would give me more of my next choice. I got Caldareta. Two items with a coconut juice, was almost $22.00. Went outside to their outdoor seating and I was excited to try it. Bistek was good. I wish I just ordered that. Caldareta was also good. However, THE MEAT WAS TOUGH!!! How do you serve very tough and chewy meat. Very low quality meat and it wasn't cooked properly to tenderize it. However, the flavor was good! The tough meat, I felt was careless. Anyone older with dentures couldn't chew that meat. The cook should have known better. The cuts of the meat were inconsistent. Some small and some too big. I was able to chew one piece of Caldareta meat. Threw the rest away after trying to bite into it. I was disappointed, because I was only able to eat the Bistek. Paid for two items and wasted the other. Would have probably given them 5 starts because of the flavor. That experience of trying to chew low quality meat was a tough experience. So, it's tough to decide about wanting to come back to try other dishes.

My family's first time coming here since we moved out of the Bay. It was nice to see that this place has moved into a bigger building with more seating. The interior is filled with a lot of Pacquiao memorabilia which gives the place a nice touch. The service is also always very friendly and helpful. My personal fave is the pork skewers because its on the sweeter side. Definitely recommend if in the area and looking for some good Filipino BBQ!

    Just some of yummy choices..

I've been here 3 times since I've discovered it and through their relocation down the street. I have to say I'm impressed and thoroughly enjoy the food I've been trying and the value of what you get. My go to is always the pancit (+$1 to your order). It's fully loaded with pork, small shrimp, and veggies. It's honestly flavorful enough to eat on its own but of course it's better paired with their other dishes. I also love their yellow curry based chicken and more recently, their stewed goat(only available on the weekend). The meat is always consistently tender and literally falls off the bone. The portions are great and the price is unbeatable. Will definitely continue to come back and support this small business!

I love the selection. It is very fresh and the service was fast. I will come again. I ordered pancit mechado gulay bicol express igado. All items were very good. They are not planned in our well seasoned. Especially like the free broth of sinigang.

I was passing by for a daily routine and noticed this place took over the previous Vietnamese food joint? It's been a while since I saw another Filipino food place so I figured there is no harm in coming by. I only ordered one pork skewer to give it a try, and just enjoyed it. Taste wise it's about as good as it gets, Filipino food at fair prices is respected regardless.

We were seated near the kitchen so we were able to look in and see BTS. The restaurant is very spacious, clean and bright with a modern design. There are booth tables against wall and tables in the middle of the restaurant. A QR code is is availble at the table for you to view menu and order. I actually like this better as I don't feel rush to order and gives me the chance to look through the menu without feeling rush to order. Iced water was brought out instantly. We ordered the following: 1. Lamb skewer, spicy: you can smell the intensity of the spice when the dish was brought out from the chili powder. The meat is moist and grilled well w/ a nice crisp. There is no gamey smell. I took a first bite but the chili powder slightly burned my gums. Had to ask Hubby to shake some of the chili poweder off the skewers for me. Its a messy dish but very tasty. 2. Spicy beef soup w/ wide noodles: Noodles are HUGE! About 1.5 inches wide and forever long. I had to use the scissors to cut it up. Noodles are good. Chewey texture just as I like it. Comes with a whole egg and beef. The broth has a nice spice to it and unlike other spicy noodle soup I've tried, it does not taste oily or overwhelmed with spices esp Sze Chuan chilis. It had a good balace of savory and spiciness. 3. Wide noodles w/ braised chicken: This dish is delish but it's a BIG dish like a whole chicken was prepared! Can feed up to 4-5 people. It's the size of a medium pizza or even a Large. The thick sauce is very flavorful but not salty. It comes with potatoes, carrots, onions, green bell peppers, and dried whole chili. Its not spicy but may be for kids as we have a high spicy tolerance. Only thing about this plate I didn't like it there's bones. We ended 2 more meals with the leftover. The noodles are hand pulled in house as we sat by the kitchen and saw the kitchen staff making it. Food comes out pretty quick and service is very good. The staff are very attentive and met our needs promptly. We definitely will return to try other plates as the menu is pretty big.

I remember this place used to be Chef Chengdu, but recently closed down and rebranded to become Super Potato. Here's my take and my experience on this place, as a first timer thus far: - The food was honestly out of this world, and when I say the portions are BIG - they were actually enough to cover the container (and even more). That's how much they have. I got the beef tripe with Chinese broccoli and rice, and while I had wished they included more Chinese broccoli, the sauce of the beef tripe was SO pungent and aromatic that I was able to sauce up my rice and enhance the flavor of my plain white rice. - The hospitality of this place was quite well - the waitresses are very attentive to each detail. The flavor is comforting and well-balanced without being overly salty, and the texture is smooth and satisfying. I highly recommend pairing it with their dough stick (youtiao). Another standout for me is the steamed spareribs with black bean and taro. The spareribs are tender and flavorful, and the black bean sauce adds a savory depth without overpowering the dish. Service continues to be efficient and well-organized, even when busy. One thing I noticed is that the restaurant is especially popular with elderly customers, which honestly says a lot about the food being comforting, traditional, and consistent. I came here on a Friday evening with my friend to grab dinner around 6:00 PM. The wait was around an hour, so be very prepared if you're coming during the dinner rush. This spot is located where the majority of the Asian restaurants are in Milpitas, so it's safe to say the parking can get a bit hectic and intense. The interior of the place is very bright, modern, and clean. There is a lot of seating for a small space, but the reason they are so busy has a lot to do with the number of people wanting to check this spot out. When you sit down, you scan their virtual menu via QR code and order there instead of through a server. You have the choice to order on one phone as a group or separately. Between my friend and me, we ordered a beef mint salad, fried tofu, confit mushrooms, and truffle mushroom rice. I will say that when we first got the fried tofu and confit mushrooms, we were quite surprised by the small portions compared to the price. That said, they were delicious, but skippable if you're trying to find the best bang for your buck. What I absolutely would recommend is their truffle mushroom fried rice. This might have been my best bite this month. It was so savory, the mushrooms hit perfectly, and the coating of butter on the rice was supreme. It was $28 for a bowl, but it was a good value to split between two people. Overall, this place had great, fast service (our food came out in under 10 minutes), a nice ambiance, and fresh, flavorful food.

Although Taishoken is known for their tsukemen, I'll always opt for mazesoba if I see it on a menu. The mazesoba here is easily some of the best I've had in the Bay Area. The included piece of chashu is well-seasoned, fall apart tender and had a good balance of lean to fatty meat. The noodles are cooked to perfection and have a really nice chew to them. There is just the right amount of sauce in the dish, and the raw egg yolk adds a wonderful richness that coats each strand of noodle when mixed. Included with your mazesoba is a small side of vinegar. I would definitely recommend trying out the mixed mazesoba on its own -- without the vinegar, and adding in the vinegar about half-way in in order to try out a completely different flavor profile of the noodles. The acidity of the vinegar cuts through the richness and keeps you coming back for bite after bite. If you've never tried mazesoba before, I can't recommend it enough at Taishoken. I can't wait to stop by again for another bowl.

While the kids still got a classic ramen, we adults went adventurous with soup-less ramen. Food (4 stars) + Mazesoba soup-less ramen was good but not as impressive as their other soup-less option. The egg that you mix in upon arrival gave it a carbonara vibe, and the chashu was tasty. There were lots of bamboo shoots that I originally thought were mushrooms. The sauce/seasoning of the ramen has a bit fishy flavor, which my wife didn't love, but still pretty good. I actually prefer the other soup-less ramen. - Chicken karaage (small order, $7) had a light batter and was freshly cooked. Standard, but enjoyable. Service/Ambiance (same as before) + Service remained excellent, with the waitress explaining dishes in detail. + The food came out incredibly fast--kid's ramen was like instantly, appetizer in about 3 minutes, and entrées in less than 10 minutes. + The ambiance still evokes a warm, Japanese feel.
