I came with a group of guys and we ordered a mix of sisig, pork adobo, le Jon kawali, beef stew, kare kare, and Bicol express! I grew up on Guam eating lots of Filipina aunties' cooking over the years. This place is amazing from every facet. Food is authentically delicious. Just like how a Filipina auntie and grandma would make at home. The BBQ sauce/marinade is slight sweet and Smokey. Absolutely delicious. Dineguan is spot on. Kare kare can be a little bit more on peanut flavor but not lacking at all. The portions and the ingredients were generous. Lots of pieces of meat for even in the dineguan (often pork offcuts/innards in pork blood stew). Edit to add: Sinigang was perfect balance of sour and flavors from the ingredients. One of my favorite sinigangs I've ever had, including what I make at home. Price point was a steal! 65 bucks for a table full of food that can easily feed 5 people. I was craving Filipino food and I was in the area. Checked Yelp and this place popped up. Reviews looked good so I drove to it. Walked in around 1PM and all the seats were occupied. That's a good look, so I decided to try it. They have plenty of dishes to choose from. However they are known for their Filipino BBQ. I wasn't interested in the BBQ, just didn't look appealing. Reading reviews. I saw that Caldareta was good. So, first I decided to get Bistek. They had pork or beef and I chose beef. They didn't have much left, so I had a lot of onions and the guy said he would give me more of my next choice. I got Caldareta. Two items with a coconut juice, was almost $22.00. Went outside to their outdoor seating and I was excited to try it. Bistek was good. I wish I just ordered that. Caldareta was also good. However, THE MEAT WAS TOUGH!!! How do you serve very tough and chewy meat. Very low quality meat and it wasn't cooked properly to tenderize it. However, the flavor was good! The tough meat, I felt was careless. Anyone older with dentures couldn't chew that meat. The cook should have known better. The cuts of the meat were inconsistent. Some small and some too big. I was able to chew one piece of Caldareta meat. Threw the rest away after trying to bite into it. I was disappointed, because I was only able to eat the Bistek. Paid for two items and wasted the other. Would have probably given them 5 starts because of the flavor. That experience of trying to chew low quality meat was a tough experience. Stopped by after work on a Tuesday to pick up some to go food for my wife. I ordered the following: - Lechon Kawali - Dinuguan - Adobo Sitaw - Beef Kaldereta - Pork Sisig - Pork Dinakdakan - Pancit - a bottle of Atchara - 10 Lumpia - 1 Turon and - 2 Suman Everything tasted authentic like grandma's home cooking. Portion was huge and price was amazingly reasonable. We have tried many turo-turo places around the Bay Area and this place has to be one of our favorite. One thing I appreciated was how their lechon kawali was made to order. I had to wait for them to freshly deep fry my order. It came out hot and crispy as a result. I've been here 3 times since I've discovered it and through their relocation down the street. I have to say I'm impressed and thoroughly enjoy the food I've been trying and the value of what you get. My go to is always the pancit (+$1 to your order). It's fully loaded with pork, small shrimp, and veggies. It's honestly flavorful enough to eat on its own but of course it's better paired with their other dishes. I also love their yellow curry based chicken and more recently, their stewed goat(only available on the weekend). The meat is always consistently tender and literally falls off the bone. The portions are great and the price is unbeatable. Will definitely continue to come back and support this small business! read more

While it is more of what you expect, it is a pleasant more of what you expect. After visiting a few Filipino restaurants around the Bay Area, you have an idea of what is served and what is offered... and what to expect. ATBP offers your standard cafeteria style take out food but either a focus on catering. And when I visited them in the morning, they were busy! Small hole in the wall store next to Milpitas Buffett, there was a lot going on inside the store. Busy and chaotic, but there appears to be a method to that madness. I ordered the following: - 2 Pork Skewers w/ rice - Sisig ala carte - Kaldereta ala carte I asked if they may possibly have dinuguan, but they didn't at the time. The food itself, fairly good. Staff super was njce and welcoming. 5/10 Lechon Kawaii $ - Portion is good but most of the pieces are extremely fatty more than 50% fat which is not edible for me. The meatier pieces were really crunchy and still juicy. Plus dipping in their savory sauce was so good but I don't think I would come back for this. 6/10 Sisig $ - Meat was juicy, tender, and cooked well. I'm not sure if the flavor profile is correct but it was just overall really sour instead of savory so it helped with the fatty Lechon. 10/10 Bbq Skewer and Rib $3/ea - The meat on both was also tender and cooked well but I think the house bbq sauce was the highlight! Place in a Nutshell: Not attractive food in a divey setting, but very homey and comforting Filipino food with great flavor and textures. Even though this is a restaurant, these are dishes that I grew up eating at a table in someone's house with a mom, auntie/grandma cooking the dishes for a big family. I've only got take-out here, but even if you decide to eat at one of 3 tiny tables in a cramped area, I'm thinking you're still gonna get your food in a take-out box. My first time here was during the winter months when it gets dark like around 6pm. I get a box to-go with 2 items plus rice (of course) and I eat a few bites before hopping into the commute. It was totally dark in the parking lot so I didn't really know what I was taking bites of. But believe-you-me, those bites took me back to a time when all my elders were still around and fed me old world food on the reg. Those days are long gone and many elders have either moved away or passed, so to taste something like this again was quite a revelation. Things tried: Kare Kare (4.5*) Not oxtails but a good amount of stewed boneless beef and tripe I think. Great flavor, better than most restaurants where I've tried. I would get this a la carte next time if I could so I could eat it for more than 1 meal. I came in once though and it wasn't on their steam table, so not sure if you can order some from the back. Bistek (4.5*) This is usually slices of beef in a soy sauce/lemon sauce that screams to be with white rice. The day I went the Tita (auntie) who served me told me it was pork steak instead of beef that day. I've never had it as a pork dish but I wanted to try it out. Again great flavor, tasted more from a home than a restaurant, and in the Filipino culinary world that is a compliment. #Trust Bicol Express (4.5*) I didn't grow up with this dish, but I love it now that I've found it as an adult. Tender pieces of pork with fatty bits swim in a coconut creamy sauce flavored with shimp paste and dried red chilis. Pretty hardcore but a mouth explosion of flavor. Theirs was a bit too spicy for me as it got me sweating like crazy, but damn did I keep going. I had to fully wash my face after each sitting and that was totally fine with me. Small price for pleasure. Lol BBQ Pork (4*) So this is in their name so I had to try, even though I'm not fond of sweet and sticky bbq meats...from any culture! Now when I opened the foil I was a bit disappointed as it was totally slathered with a thick and gloopy sauce. I took a bite and it was surprisingly not crazy sweet as I was expecting. Definitely closer to sweet n sour sauce, probably made with ketchup and vinegar. I rinsed off the excess sauce when I got home before I reheated it, totally worked for me. The biggest prop for their version is that pork texture was spot on what I like. A bit of bite but still has a toothsome chew. Actually they nail the meat textures here in my book from anything stewed to anything grilled. Dinaguan (4*) This is a hard core dish that I think only Filipinos and/or adventurous eaters can visit. It is a pork stew thickened with pork blood so the sauce becomes thickish and totally black. I've never liked the looks of this dish when I was a kid, but I always knew that my tongue often told a different story. When done right this is a complex stew with tangy and spicy notes with deep umami layers. This was a bit thick for me so I reheated some at home with a bit more water to loosen it up and some more sliced jalapenos to give it more kick. My dad rarely ate Filipino food from a restaurant, cuz he simply didn't trust them and put all his chips in home cooking. But I bet he would like this version. Pork Sinigang (4.5*) Totally solid home version. Quite tangy the way it should be with both chunks of stewed pork and veggies like eggplant, long beans and bok choy I think. I wish there were more veggies but there were enough for most bites. OG dish done OG right with zero fuss. I rarely if ever give a fiver to a point and pick steam-table place, but kinda relieved to see one exist. I've never tried any in the Daly City area but I wouldn't be surprised that some were there too, as that is a very Filipino town. But from Oakland to Fremont, I've found none that could rival the flavors from this hole-in-the-wall, and that right there my friends is the quintessential Yelp victory. read more

The shop feels more like a take out restaurant but they do have tables that you can sit down and eat. Lines can get pretty long, but the staff work quick to get your order in. This place actually tastes like home! Went here for the first time and breakfast is really good. It's usually what my dad makes. Breakfast silogs are made for ready meaning that they prepare them and place them at the counter. It is also a very small place where they sell snacks with limited amount of seatings here. I don't think many people come here for breakfast but rather for lunch I think. It's my first time here and so I never tried other Filipino food here yet.
