Ledos gave 4/5 of us violent food poisoning. The restaurant was practically deserted and the prices were insane. The chicken soup is certainly similar to the Chincoteague sea -- the saltiest soup ever to the point where it was inedible. The pizza was a bed of crackers with completely raw ingredients. The marinara was extremely sweet and very watery! The parking lot is also extremely scary. Don't come to Ledos if you don't want to spend hours hovering over the toilet bowl. Extremely disappointed. They don't deserve 1 star We didn't actually get to eat here because the hours online said they close at 10. We arrived at 850 and were told they were closed that they close at 9 but it wasn't 9 yet. That is the biggest thing that bothers me. When a place closes down before they are supposed to. I will never go back because that makes their employees seem lazy and like they don't want to serve people I asked to speak to a manager but there wasn't one. Oh well! Basic run of the mill "Italian" place. Good was ok, nothing terrible but nothing exceptional either. Service was the same, not awful but not good either. I had a calzone and it was bland. There was little to no flavor at all. What we did like were the feta fries. Those were good! The fries themselves could stand to be cooked longer, but the taste was there. The rest was bland, nondescript, and uneventful. There are better Italian places on the island if you want this kind of food. Another huge minus for them is the gross tea. We are in the south! The good: The server, Rhianna, was very nice and seemed very experienced. The gentlemen (host or owner) was also very nice. The sauce was very good. The bad: The food was not very good. I thought I was partial being Italian but my husband didn't find his very good either. The cheesesticks were average but definetly not homemade (just frozen and average). The ugly: My spaghetti was in a huge puddle of water and was like soup when I was eating it. The waitress came to check half way through our meal. I showed it to her and she apologized and told the cooks. She told us they apologized but there was no offer to mitigate it (new dish, comp, 1/2 off, free dessert, etc.) I was so hungry I just ate it anyway. DEAD FLIES!!! My boyfriend brought a beer in and the waitress didn't say anything but another worker came over and said he could not have it and my boyfriend threw it out. So we then placed our order. A few minutes after I happened to look at the windowsill it was full of dead flies, I then looked at the one behind me and the same thing. We decided to leave and as my boyfriend was telling the waitress that we were leaving, we would pay for our drinks but cancel order. The other male worker that asked my boyfriend to trash his beer then went to the owner and said " he is just mad because he couldn't drink his beer". My boyfriend told him don't speak for him and they exchanged words and the owner asked us to leave. I told him that it was the nasty dead flies not the beer was the problem. We ordered a pick up for a 14inch pepperoni pizza & 12 piece Buffalo wings. We stayed around the corner so we walked & they were already ready so that's good. The downfall is that the pizza was not intact as it should be, literally once you grab a slice, all the cheese and bread would fall ...and the bread/cheese is like the same width as the pepperoni! It turned out to be barbecue sauce mixed with beef meat. We thought it strange that no coleslaw was on the menu to go with it. We ended up here after all the seafood restaurants had a 45 minute wait. We didn't plan to come here, and to be honest, we usually get pizza from Famous down the street. But lured in by ample seating and the promise of a quick(er) pizza, there we were. And we were... pleasantly surprised! Quick service by the (solitary but busy) waiter, and indeed, lots of seating inside the air-conditioned restaurant. Not necessary in April, but in July, definitely! We ordered the Caesar side salad to start. Basic, but tasty, and served with a generous tub of dressing on the side (enough to take home for a later salad in your vacation cottage!). We ordered a 18" and 14" pizza for 3 adults and a toddler. We had about half of it left over. If you aren't familiar with their sizes, they have boxes hanging on the wall near the entrance. We saw these too late, but were happy to tote home leftovers. We love thin crust pizza, and this may be among the thinnest crusts we ever had! Very tasty, generous with the toppings, too. The sausage was superb! They also sell pasta sauces there to go, so I guess they are a pretty well-known chain. We haven't been to many Ledo's, but may have to change that after this! Went with my family. We had the LEDO Breadsticks, LEDO lasagna, Caesar Side Salad, Mediterranean Bruschetta, Buffalo Chicken Fries and the Veggie Calzone. Starting with the lasagna, it came out decently presentable. It looked like a nice little lasagna dish. However, it tasted like your average grocery store frozen lasagna concoction. Definitely not worth the price of the dish. The Caesar Side Salad was good, well dressed and seemed pretty fresh although I would bet the lettuce was from a bag. Hard to get a Caesar Salad wrong. The Buffalo Chicken Fries were surprisingly good considering how mediocre everything else we had was. The LEDO Breadsticks were actually pretty tasty, they were soft and delicious. The veggie Calzone needs some work, when it came out it was soupy at the bottom of the plate for some reason. I assume now it was because the veggies were frozen and thawed while the calzone was cooking. The flavor just was not there, it was a gooey, cheesy, dripping mess. Lastly, the bruschetta. Absolutely abysmal, the feta tasted like the goat it came from. Pass on it, for your own good. Overall, I would save your time and money. The service is good and the atmosphere is alright, but the food does not cut it. This is essentially a place where they defrost your order before you it gets to you and on an island with a large amount of options your better off passing this one up. read more

While I was disappointed with my oven baked Gouda Mac and cheese (chicken added in), I was not disappointed with all the other food on the table. The gyro pizza is unique and yummy, and the Korean bbq pizza is fantastic. Yummy drinks- fruit punch with mango, limeade, raspberry mojito (alcohol free). Portions are appropriate, and the service is good. Leaving off a star due to the underwhelming flavor of my Mac and cheese- tasted like there was no salt or pepper, just heaps of cheese/butter and five small pieces of chicken. We were pleasantly surprised by our quick visit to Ledo's on our last night on the island. We just pulled in because it was convenient. We ordered a large cheese pizza and jumbo wings. The wings were fried perfectly and very tasty (we opted for lemon pepper). The pizza is a thin crust and had lots of flavor. When I walked in I expected meh food but was impressed. Seems to be a collusion-scam among the pizza places on Chincoteague. My standards might be high, and the bar in Chincoteague might be low, but, seriously, this is the worst pizza I've ever had in a restaurant. The crust was limp and grainy, like that of the worst frozen supermarket pizzas. It occurs to me now that they probably freeze their pizza before cooking. The sauce was something like ketchup. This regional pizza chain was a great find on Chincoteague Island, VA. We had the 14" HOTLANTA BBQ : Their signature square crust drizzled with Urban Bar-B-Que® Yella sauce, sliced chicken, regular bacon, and jalapeños topped with Provolone cheese. It was amazing. We also ordered a second pizza and the Fettuccini Bolognese with goat cheese topping. All were perfect. We were attracted to Ledos by the interesting looking specialty pizzas. The toppings were excellent and it was nice to find some new combinations. The tomato on our pizza (Pop pie), was whole sliced, fresh and ripe to perfection. There was a slice of said delicious tomato on every slice. If you are not familiar with Ledos Pizza, they feature a very thin almost pastry like crust and cut it into small squares...so that was a generous amount of tomato! I have to say, we were not big fans of the crust - a little too soft - though the edges were delicious. I would have given a higher rating for the toppings and a lower rating for the crust. I can hardly believe that this restaurant is related to my beloved Ledo's in the Baltimore area.. I've been to several locations, but this one is just bad. I've been to more Ledo's locations than any one person probably should, so I was excited to try this one to rank it accordingly. As I've learned over the years, they can vary greatly depending on the owner and how closely they follow the original Ledo's recipes and processes. This place is definitely one of the better Ledo's. The first time I went, it was with a large party and I was the only one who got pizza. Everyone else got pasta & salads. Those looked to be on par with usual Ledo's quality, and everyone enjoyed their food. I got the pepperoni pizza, and it was made very well, but could have been cooked for a little longer to get the crunch on the edge crust. It was excellent reheated the next day! (Pro-tip: Reheat Ledo's pizza in a cast iron skillet to maintain the cracker crust consistency!) We went back a second time, and the pizza was perfectly cooked! :) We finished the whole thing. Bonus points go to this place for being the only restaurant open after 9pm, and for a really nice staff! I'd forgotten a baby bottle on the table and the waitress ran out to the parking lot to return it to me. So nice :) read more

This is the worst Ledo's we've ever been to. They won't tell you this, but they will arbitrarily set a time where they will no longer seat you. They close at 10pm but stop serving close to 8:30pm. I came in with 3 young, very hungry children and was told at 8:45pm that they were no longer seating. An entire hour and fifteen minutes before they were set to close; we were given no reason as to why, but, just that it was. They really need to have the actual hours posted and not leave hungry families in the lurch. I suggest Famous Pizza down the road, they are far more accommodating, they took our order at 8:53pm when they closed at 9, and told us they would have someone wait after posted hours to give us order. Without this crappy service we wouldn't have found the best pizza on the island. read more
