Introduction & March 2018: Originally was going to do a different Maryland established business in my America 250 series, but I've soured on that particular restaurant; so didn't want to promote them. Just completed DC established, next will be VA. As for Ledo Pizza, they were established in 1955 in Adelphi. They moved to the downtown College Park location in 2009. I wrote a 5-star review of the "Ledo Restaurant" in March 2018. I had greatly enjoyed the pizza then in March 2018. As great as the franchise locations are, the original is the best. Update since then 2020 story: Downtown College Park has never been terribly convenient for me. But in November 2020, I heard the original College Park location was closing. I was saddened by that. But they were struggling as a restaurant in a Covid environment as this location especially was more of a destination for dine-in. I made a special trip on that Friday, November 20, 2020 from my home in Russett, Anne Arundel County about 15 miles away that night to enjoy their last weekend. It was a bit of wait as expected, and they had set up just for to go orders. I had to wait outside in the cold until my pizza was ready. I could've eaten outside in the cold no thanks, or eaten in my car like an animal, but I drove quickly thankfully no traffic to get back home. Still was fairly warm but heated in microwave. It was so delicious. Speaking of America 250, July 4, 2026: Ledo Pizza had a $2.50 individual cheese pizza deal only on 4th of July for America 250. The cashier was nice, and the pizza was ready on time. When I was checking for Ledo locations, I didn't realize the College Park had reopened. This was as good as I remembered it as they re-opened the same restaurant location with the same ovens. We bulked up our small thin but delicious Ledo pizza with Playa Bowl as they had 250 bonus points and was a block from here. We told the nice staff at Playa Bowl about the Ledo deal today, which they enthusiastically said we need to take advantage of that deal! In summary, Ledo Pizza especially College Park location is great pizza! And if in College Park, I consider it a great option. read more

I dragged my mom out for pizza tonight and so glad we came here! Saturday night is pretty busy here and we initially sat in their back room that was like an overflow room. After we sat down for 10min, waitstaff asked us to move into the larger room as there was a party meeting in the back room. Everyone was very nice about it and we didnt mind either. Mom and I shared an Italian salad and also a 14" hot sausage pizza. My mom very much enjoyed the Italian salad and the house dressing was very good, and I liked it too.The salad was very fresh and tasty. The pizza was also very good and I love Ledo's Pizza as its very unique and the flaky crust is what I keep coming back for! Service was great, food pretty good and prices very reasonable. I recently visited another Ledo location and it was so good. I really had forgotten how much I loved this pizza! It was many years since I had it. Although they have a big menu to choose from, not just pizza, I still end up with pizza! Maybe next time I'll try something else but it really is the pizza for me! A few days ago, I stopped in after work for a take-out order. It was ready quickly. I got a small pizza with jalapeños and it was good. The employee I interacted with was great. Very professional and offered me parmesan and crushed red pepper. I took both! The inside of the restaurant is clean and spacious! The parking here isn't the easiest though. read more

I feel like the only reason people try Lego's is because it is so famous in Maryland and unique to Maryland. I always question why it is so popular in Maryland though because both times I've tired the pizza, it was disappointing and barely average. I ordered the 14inch veggie pizza, which comes with onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers. These are my usual go to toppings so I was excited to give this place another chance, but this pizza was equally disappointing to my first experience at a different Ledo's location. This might be an unpopular opinion but I actually enjoy having a little crust to hold on to each slice of pizza, but disincentive their pizzas are square, none of the middle slices have any real crust to hold. The crust is also very thing and gets soggy very fast. I like crisp crust, so that is another downfall for their pizzas. I ordered my pizza online for pick up and they said it takes 35 minutes to get ready. In my opinion, this seems like a very long time especially based on the quality of this pizza. It normally takes 35-45 minutes to get a Chicago deep dish pizza ready because rhat actually requires a longer cook time but since these pizza's have such thin crust, I'm not sure why it would take so long to complete the order. Overall, for paying so much for the pizza, I feel like I could have paid less than half the price and gotten a better tasting pizza from any other major chain pizza place. read more

Ledo's College Park is the best!! Great beer selection! Try the Terrapin Hop Station. Great cocktails, get a Cosmo! Decent wine selection. My favorite appetizer is the hot honey old bay wings! Ask for them extra crispy. They are amazing! The salads are good for folks that are eating light or that don't want pizza. Of course the star of the show is the pizza! I've typically only ordered take out from Ledo Pizza but on this occasion we actually dined in. In terms of parking, you'll have to park in the garage as there is only street parking for carry out which is limited to 15 minutes. When you first walk in there are a couple of stairs to go down into the dining area but there is also a ramp, so it is accessible. However, there are no automatic doors. We were greeted when we first walked in and were seated immediately. Rocsi was our server who was very nice and patient. We sat at a table and the general area was pretty forgiving for a stroller and high chair situation. The food is always good at Ledo so you must be new to the area or living under a rock if you haven't had it at this point. So go ahead and dine in too, it's a good experience! Cheers! read more

I really didn't want to write this complaint. But, after waiting almost fifteen minutes for curbside (I am nursing a left foot injury) I entered the store to an empty front end and encountered another five minute wait to pick up the food. Here's the problem: your pizza gets greasy after twenty minutes, in my experience. So. Not only was it greasy but luke warm if not room temp. The store wasn't busy so I'm guessing the order had been ready about five to ten minutes early plus the wait, plus the inconvenience amounts to a refund request. I'm a former cafe and restaurant owner as well as a former kitchen and catering everything old hand: dish, prep, manage ent, expo, line, sous, and executive chef. I know how difficult the job is; I could also tell the restaurant was short-staffed given the absence of manager, server, bartender, or counter help. I would have been more forgiving if the staff member who seemed baffled by my order had simply apologized without me asking for an apology Last note: why make an already stressful job more stressful by not having a fountain drink dispenser at the counter. On top of everything else, this team member needed to physically get the drink. No runner? No server? No manager? What is your restaurant like during a rush? You must be doing something right. I find this Ledo location to be reliable. The pizzas turn out the same and are carefully made. Ledo doesn't skimp on ingredients; the pies are full of toppings and cheese. Their tomato sauce is on the sweeter side, however. I do enjoy the squareness of the pizza, seriously. This has been Ledo's calling card for a long time. For slicing, serving and storing, it makes a lot of sense. The boxes for transporting are well constructed, and I appreciate that. My fav is the Hawaiian; been chowing down on it for years. Ordered a pizza for pick-up this past weekend and they said it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Got to the store after about 20 minutes and had to wait another 45 minutes. Had cashier check the kitchen after about 30 minutes and I could see through the window that they were searching for my order ticket. They hadn't even starting making the pizza after 30-35 minutes. Every time I asked the cashier to check on the pizza, cashier acted like I was inconveniencing him. Last time I go there for pizza. The pizza is dreadful! What did you do? The crust sucks now... premade? I always had to ask for extra sauce at this location to make it edible. Now there is no helping this crap. I am glad this restaurant is back as Ledo Pizza. Even though the food from the chain isn't as good as the original Ledo Restaurant, it's the next best thing now that the original is gone for good. They completely remodeled and have all new staff. Unfortunately, I think they are still fine tuning things in the kitchen, because we have ordered pizza twice, and something was off about the crust texture both times. It almost seemed undercooked, and was very chewy and bland. Aside from that, the pizza tasted good, with their typical Ledo-style sweeter sauce and provolone cheese blend, and had a ton of toppings. The menu is the same as the Ledo Pizza chain, so they have some more options that the old restaurant didn't have such as gluten free and cauliflower crust, a variety of salads, and more wing sauce flavors. read more

Showing up for a private party for an after-party for a choral event, we were directed to a back room that was set aside for the event. I was shocked at the huge screens blaring 8 different sporting events. The high tables and few high metal chairs were really a poor set up for the crowd, which were mostly older folks, women and at least three people in wheelchairs. No tables were of the height to accommodate these. Large stacks of cushioned chairs were off in one corner. They were not brought out until some people had pulled some out themselves. I had to get chairs for people trying to sit near wheelchair bound people. The "salad bar" was a joke--a couple of bowls of lettuce, again without proper thought to crowd flow. The pizzas (ordered well in advance) came out late, were soggy and unmanageable except by spearing the squares with the brittle plastic forks and miniscule napkins. We had paid $13 a head for what ended up being several little squares of Salvador Dali-esque pizza, a poorly set up room, no accomodations for handicap customers, the totally inappropriate blaring tv's and outstandingly poor service. They didn't make any effort to create an appropriate and welcoming environment for the 80 or 100 people there, I guess assuming everyone are 20-something males following some sports event and tossing back mugs of beer and wet pizza. read more

Very disappointed. I have been a regular Ledo's custom for 30 years, i don't normally go to the college park location but I was in the area so I stopped in this one instead of my usual. My pizza had very little cheese, so little that the sausage and VERY thin cut pepperoni didn't stay on the pizza. The sauce didn't taste like the other locations. Over the years my family loved Ledo's pizza. We loved going to the Ledo on Westlake in Bethesda. They were very friendly and service was great. Our favorites are the delicious cheese and pepperoni pizza, my grandsons' favorites. However, due to change in our diets we don't eat pizza that often anymore. Recently, I met a couple of friends there for lunch and I tried the gluten free crust with sausage, mushrooms and onions. It was quite delicious, even my daughter and grandson loved it. It's weird knowing there's no original Ledo's anymore (for those of us who grew up with it). This spot is the closest we have now to the old real deal. Sometimes the pizza is perfection and sometimes they have off nights. Our most recent takeout order was definitely one of their good batches - the red sauce was perfect & the pizzas were all cooked just right. They were out of basil but otherwise had everything we ordered. Pro tip - there is a big difference between their bacon and their pre-cooked bacon for toppings. The regular bacon might as well be ham, it's not the crispy stuff you're expecting when you order bacon on a pizza. I'm a sucker for their red pizza with pineapple and precooked bacon (NOT regular bacon, I learned) & a white pizza with just sausage. We ordered pizza online at 4pm on Halloween, to try to get our toddlers kids fed and out the door. Showed up at the restaurant at 5, a little early for our 5:15 promised time. When we arrived, we were told that the kitchen was "a little behind." The clear insinuation was "it won't be 5:15, but it'll be pretty soon." That was a lie - the kitchen was extremely behind. Our pizza didn't even get into the oven until 6, and we didn't leave the restaurant until almost 6:30. So it was a two-plus-hour wait for mediocre pizza -- and cold french fries, which the kitchen made early and had sitting out the whole time we waited for pizza. Had they communicated and been honest, we could have driven home, taken the kids trick or treating, and then come back for our food later. Instead, we stood around, and missed Halloween with our kids. I don't give one-star reviews without asking a restaurant to correct things in the moment: we asked to speak with a manager, who came out, talked to one other long-waiting customer, and then went back to the kitchen and never returned. Stated I had to talk to manager who proceeded to have an attitude while trying to work through things. I judge this place based on the quality of the thing it replaced, the Ledo Pizza run by the original owners of the first Ledo Pizza. Sadly, on several important fronts, the franchise that now occupies this space fails to measure up. The pizza is not nearly as good.... From the cheese, to the crust, to the sauce. Not to mention the fact that our veggie pizza showed up covered with onion, and I like onion. Then there's the ranch dressing. Ah how we loved the ranch dressing under the previous management. Ledos pizza is by far the best pizza in the DMV! I may be biased because I am from Maryland and I grew up with Ledos pizza at many group functions. The pizza is always consistent and never taste different and it's always giving cheesy, oily, and yummy! my guilty pleasure is eating Ledos pizza cold the day after. If you like deep dish pizza this probably is your place as the pizza is flat and has its own style. I love the pizza so much I really haven't tried very much else on their menu. On November 10, 2023 approximately 6:30-7:30pm. Me and my pregnant girlfriend went to dine in for dinner at the college park location and the food was amazingly delicious as always. This is my third time dining in at the restaurant twice at the bar where I had fantastic service both times and this previous one time that I'm writing this review about. I've never had an issue with this restaurant however we had a young Caucasian server named Lauren H. She was very sweet and kind in the beginning of taking our order, but it literally took her more than 20 minutes to get our drinks which was lemonade and fruit punch, while everyone else got their drinks on time, and the restaurant was not that busy near her section based on what we saw. She was very sweet and kind taking our order but when I asked her about fries coming with my steak and cheese sub, she told me that the fries came with the sandwich. I still got charged for separate fries when she specifically told me that the fries came with the order but no biggie, I didn't make a big deal about it so I paid for my fries at the end. What I found very interesting was that right before we were about to leave a group of four Caucasian women and one Asian sat literally right next to us and she took their order and got them their drinks within under two minutes while we had to wait more than 20 minutes for ours. Then my girlfriend ordered a buffalo calzone and she brought out something completely different, but we still didn't make a big deal about it. We ate what she gave us. It was still a calzone, but it wasn't buffalo. Like I said, she was very sweet, taking our order and she probably checked on us twice, but we still didn't have our food on time. She kept saying that she was going to check the kitchen for our food while everyone else got theirs, nicely fresh and hot. I don't know, if it was the kitchen that was backed up or something that she brought out the wrong order but we strongly believe that she racially stereotyped us for being Hispanic. I didn't want to make a post about it, but I also felt the need to point this out. I love Ledos restaurant and I will continue to order from here from time to time but I don't think we will ever dine in at least get our order from a server, I'd rather just go to the bar they're actually quicker. read more
