The parking situation seems a little tricky, it was raining so I couldn't tell if you could park in the lot on the side where Potomac pizza is located or if you have to park all the way in the back by CP Hall. But you for sure can't park right on the side of the building. I walked in and it wasn't too crowded, the restaurant appears very clean with multiple TVs which I'm sure is nice when a game is on. There is also a bar inside that serves beer and wine which is pretty cool too. I ordered a pizza and a calzone. I was impressed with the size of the marinara sauce that comes with the calzone. Overall, the calzone was good but not the best. The pizza, a standard cheese pizza was meh. Given the price of the pizza I expected it to have premium taste. Overall, other things may be worth trying on the menu but I wouldn't go specifically for the pizza. read more

This place has zero customer service, their food is sub par and arrived freezing cold when it came from around the corner. I received a salad with zero utensils and called back (since I am in a hotel with no kitchen or utensils). I was kept on the phone because "they could not find my order" and there was no apology or attempt to simply rectify the issue because you can't find my order when I indicated my order number, food items ordered, and even confirmed what the delivery person looked like. The lack of apology, attitude, dismissive nature, and lack of desire to even address the actual issue and instead fixate on "finding" my order is just a bad way to do business. UPDATE: many many thanks to the GM, Jim, who personally reached out to resolve this issue. Your professionalism, courtesy, and quick response are so appreciated. Stopped by the other night to find some great pizza! Ordered some mozzarella sticks and salads which were both great. Was a big fan of the mozz sticks as they were seasoned really well. Having a daughter in college means finding some good grub every now and again while hanging out with her or just being in the area. Case in point, we chose to check out Potomac Pizza. On this weekday evening, there was no one dining, but quite a few folks stop by to get their takeout. We tried first the mozzarella sticks. Considering it took a bit for those to get to the table, I wasn't surprised that they were coolish. Not bad, but Moz sticks are always better hot. We each got an individual pizza. My wife did her pepperoni, onion, Green peppers combo. I got the meat lovers. The pies were quite tasty and we each had leftovers because even while hungry we were rolling up on full pretty quick. Service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was quite nice. Definitely the place to stop if you're looking for some Za. The service is fine and hit or miss at times regarding friendliness and consistency, but the problem which will never be resolved is... The food. We have eaten wraps, salads but many more pizza lunches several times and have finally given up on Potomac Pizza. Many in our lunch group have found it unfriendly to our GI tract, as we always burp it up for the remainder of the day but only when we eat the pizza here. And I though I was the only one experiencing this until we had an inside joke about will it be different this time? Hahaha. The pizza is thin and chewy, the crust puffy, sadly we have found the cheese on the pies are not salty nor cheesy in taste in fact has no flavor of cheese. Very odd. Initially we were wooed by the crust but after eating a few slices you can still be hungry because there is no substance to the pie. I have no idea why others lose their minds over their food because the salads and wraps are ditto in bland flavors. No flavor. Why bother going there unless you are staying at the hotel and do not want to drive elsewhere for pizza? Potomac deserves the fully rounded one star for inconsistent flavors and ambience. One word sums this place up - inconsistent. I visited a couple of times on my trip. Although the pizza tasted ok, the whole ordering and interaction process left a lot to be desired. I walked in about an hour before they closed one night and was asked to go to the "carry out" line after I told them I just wanted a slice. I ordered a slice of cheese pizza, they rushed through the ordering process and I wasn't asked if I wanted something to drink, so I sat there parched as I waited for my slice. I took a seat, and they brought my single slice out to me in a medium sized cardboard "to-go" box. What a waste since I was eating in the restaurant. The cheese slice was $2.99 - not too bad, but I tipped a dollar for counter service. I've been trying so hard to break this habit, but it's hard to do. The cheese slice was greasy, and the dough was soggy (see pix). I decided to go back for another slice, but this time I chose the slice of cheese with three toppings. It was only $3.69 - a good deal. I chose Canadian Bacon, jalapenos, and black olives. This time it was served on a plate with real silverware, even though I was directed to the "to go" line again. This slice was on a slightly thicker crust and wasn't as soggy or limp as the cheese pizza I had on the other visit. Although the "Canadian Bacon" was just regular ham - and YES, there is a difference folks, don't get me started - this is a hot button for me. I returned for a third visit, and ordered the Canadian Bacon, black olives, and jalapeno slice to go this time. When I got to my destination (3 minutes later), it was as soggy and as limp as the cheese slice I had on my first visit. On one of my visits, I was able to acquire a Blue Moon beer, but it tasted bad and wasn't served with an orange slice. Although it was billed as a pint, it seemed more like it was 12 ounces. If it's convenient to where you are, it's not a bad place to eat at. Just be aware of the idiosyncrasies. read more

My first sign of danger was when I tried to order online and the website wanted me to create an account. After I did so and got my order ready, the website said that we were outside of the delivery area, which I knew was incorrect because we were only 3 miles away and they had a larger delivery radius than that. So, I called them and placed the order. I ended up adding a $5.00 tip to the order which made my total $28.00 for a medium Hawaiian Pizza. In my town (I live out of state and was staying in College Park on Business), I can get two large Hawaiian Pizzas for $25 dollars! In any event, I ask them if they could just knock on the door to our hotel room when they arrived and they said it wouldn't be a problem. About 30 Minutes later, the driver calls and asks me to meet her in the lobby. I'm already in lounge pants and a T-Shirt, so I have to throw on some Jeans and some shoes and go down to meet her. She then wants to charge me for the pizza and I explain that I've already paid, so she starts to call back to the store to check when she realizes the receipt says "PAID" on it. I get back to the room and the pizza is cold. The crust is very dry and chewy and yet under the sauce (which isn't great), the crust is doughy, like it isn't all the way baked. Let's just say, the entire experience was underwhelming. I ate two slices and my wife ate a couple and we threw the rest away. Not a great compliment to their efforts, I'm afraid. I would have enjoyed a frozen pizza more and might have saved $15.00 Dollars. I don't know if I'd trust the other reviews on this site regarding their pizza. My family has 2 toddlers and my sister's family has one infant. Add in two grandparents. I cannot begin to describe how the staff here bent over backwards to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. From making sure the hot pizza wasn't near the kids to offering a waste basket when we thought our one year old was going to throw up, every single detail was taken care of. The restaurant is only a two minute walk from the lobby of The Hotel at the University of Maryland. I can tell that their homemade sauce and dough, thin crust and fresh mozzarella turned an ordinary pizza moment into an OMG moment! Potomac Pizza has an extensive menu, comfortable seating, liquor and soda bars with a wide open view the the University of Maryland campus. You have the choice of eating in or out or you can have your food delivered to your room at The Hotel. Ordered from UberEATS. Food arrived promptly and for the most part still at a decent temperature. I got linguine Alfredo, which came with a Cesar salad and garlic knots. I also got a cannoli. The salad was ok. Nothing to brag about. The garlic knots were delightful. The perfect bit of garlic carby goodness. It was just a hint on the oily side. But I liked it. The linguine I think was the real down fall. There wasn't enough Alfredo and some of the pasta was kinda stuck and clumped together. The taste was absolutely tasteless. Like serious some salt, pepper, garlic powder. Something! I didn't take more then 3 bites and was done. The cannoli was pretty good. The shell was crisp. The cream was sweet without being overly sweet. But in my opinion could of used a few more chocolate chips especially inside the shell and a bit less cinnamon. But overall pretty good. I wish I could give Potomac Pizza more stars! My wife and I have the pleasure of saying we are the first Wedding Rehearsal the restaurant has hosted. My wife (fiancee at the time) planned our wedding at The Hotel at the University of Maryland College Park. We wanted to have a our Rehearsal dinner/lunch close to the same area of our wedding rehearsal. All the other restaurants in the area were overpriced in our opinion for what we wanted. This location was our last choice. When we walked in, we met Jim, the General Manager. We explained our situation to him and he was just as excited about our wedding/rehearsal as we were. We told him we wanted a rehearsal brunch for about 50 people. Jim allowed us to sample items on the catering menu, we made our selections and that was it. It was a very easy process, one of the easiest things we did throughout our wedding planning process. The most important thing I have not mentioned yet: THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! We ended up ordering a tossed salad, caesar salad, BBQ wings, Hot wings, Chicken Parm, Chicken Alfredo, Vegetable lasagna, and eggplant parm. All of the food was fresh and made to order. The sauce for the alfredo was amazing and all the food was seasoned well. The wings were very popular as well. They were nice size wings and they did not skimp on the wing sauce. Our rehearsal brunch was for about 2 hours and as I mentioned, we had about 50 people in total. There was still room for regular customers to come in and order food. The customer service was amazing. Our servers made sure my wife and I were ok and we had everything we needed throughout the time we were there. For dessert, we had cannolis which did not last long either. After our wedding, (we didn't get a chance to eat during our wedding because there was so much going on) we ended up ordering pizza from here because we knew it would be quality. I can't say thank you enough to Jim and the staff for their great customer service and amazing food. This is such a great pizza shop! I was in the area for an expo, and my sisters and I were starving! It's a beautiful, if a bit sterile environment (it's connected to this new hotel, so you understand). We ordered a spinach and ricotta pizza to go, because we could still sit in the outdoor seating, which was lovely. The service we received was friendly and efficient. Minus one star because the menu has coupons on them, and when we tried to use them, we were told they were expired! I hated that lol. But, the pizza is delicious, and so are the cookies! I popped in here one day because I saw the word 'pizza' in the name, and pizza is one of my favorite foods. I paid for some sort of lunch special where I got two slices of pizza (three delicious toppings each), an appetizer, and a drink for some affordable price. I thought their food was pretty tasty, and the customer service was so friendly - I decided to come back! This time - I dined in. The restaurant was clean, service was friendly and quick, and of course the pizza was delicious! I also appreciate the outlets that they have placed pretty much at every table. I was here last night, drove by here and decided to try this place out. I order the cheese steak and I added chicken to my cheese steak. It was pretty good! My only issue is that the chicken and steak should be chopped up more for the meal. It was big pieces for my sandwich. But other than that it was good! The restaurant was clean and I asked how long this restaurant been open. Our server replied with " a year". My boyfriend order the pizza and it looked amazing. He's a pizza eater for sure. I got take out from here today and was so happy I did. I wanted to support the business during this covid 19 crisis. We ordered eggplant parmigiana sub, cheeseburger and French fries. Everything was delicious and pretty reasonably priced. Service was fast and friendly. The interior was really nice and I can imagine it's a fun place to frequent.
