First impressions. CASH only. Not a deal breaker, but sucks on for biz travel. Staff very nice and prices are great compared to other sport with 2 blocks. Food out quickly, very fresh and solid portions. Fish of the day was Mutton Snapper (Florida locals know, good fish). Ordered blackened off their recommendation. Seasoned well and moist, props to kitchen team. Over cooked and dry is a normal with most places and these guys did it proud. I am here off season. I am sure in season this a great grap and go place. Food-fried grouper was fine, the fries were okay. We had the mutton snapper-which was just like eating chicken or it was really over cooked. Not sure as o am not familiar with this fish species. Key lime pie slices were okay. Nothing special imo. Service- very friendly Ambiance- very stinking hot in the dining room! I couldn't enjoy my food and wanted to leave immediately. This place is a very casual counter-service restaurant. Its food is exceptional. Knowing that the seafood is fresh, my wife and I both ordered the catch of the day. On the Monday that we visited, mahi-mahi was on the menu. My wife ordered the platter and I ordered the taco. Her rice and beans were seasoned perfectly, my vinaigrette-based cole slaw was delicious. The highlight of the meal was the mahi-mahi. Her platter was an abundance of blackened filets that were wonderful. My taco was more like a burrito. The mahi-mahi was grilled perfectly. Its freshness was the highlight. We shared the key lime pie, which was a good homemade sweet, tart version of this classic dessert. This place came highly recommended. We all had various versions of the grouper--basket, sandwich, blackened, fried, etc.. probably the best grouper sandwich on the island. They also locally source all their fish. Service is good. Basically two people working. One cooking while the other is handling orders, serving food and helping out in the kitchen when available. My friends and I ordered the following: Basket with the catch the day, which I believe was triple tail, and a side of fries: The fries were great, the fish was very good, although it needed a bit of salt (better than being overly salty!). Catch of the day taco with coleslaw: my friend said the coleslaw was unusual and not really to her liking (she likes vinegar based coleslaw, but she said this had a strange flavor). The soft taco shell was quite full of fish and extras, and, while the fish was good, overall the taco seemed tasteless to her. Combo platter with the catch of the day: this friend enjoyed his meal, but wished that there was cocktail sauce for the shrimp. He said the beans and rice had a nice flavor. He was not happy that the shrimp and fish were piled on top of said beans and rice - he said if it was a "platter" they should be next to it (even though the menu actually states the fish is served over the beans and rice). We ordered a piece of Keylime pie, but they did not bring it out with our meal, I had to go back up to the counter and get it. I felt that it was a little too sweet and little "gooey". My friends were not impressed with it. But, pie is pie, and always welcome in my mind! When you come in, you order at the counter and then have your choice of seats inside or out. They will bring your food to you. All the drinks are in bottles or cans in the cooler next to the order counter. Parking is tight, although there are about a dozen spaces. Restrooms are outside around the corner - not sure if they were a "common" restroom to be used by the rest of the little shopping center or if they were LeeBe's alone. If you want to talk fish done fresh and perfectly this is the place. They explain on their wall why the fish is really good but also not as expensive as other places. I don't need a fancy place to have good fish - this place was perfect for what we had in mind. Was one of our fav casual spots. Been a few years. First, despite menu offering choice of shrimp, catch of day, or pork taco, was told only grouper taco. But you could get catch of day sandwich? Weird. I guess so they could get extra $3 for grouper taco? We like grouper, so ok. Problem is the taco wasn't great, different seasoning than we remember, and loaded with cole slaw. We ordered the fresh catch with Gulf shrimp and fries, plus two ice-cold beers from the cooler. You place your order at the counter, and they bring it out to you.
