The service was excellent. Ambience was pleasant and relaxed. They were playing oldies. There was no one in the restaurant but us. 7:30 on a Thursday night. The food was good, but for the price point, it was very expensive. The presentation of the food was very nice. I'll say the wine selection was very good, and the wine and beer prices very reasonable, even cheap. My wife had mahi-mahi Cafe Marco style. It came with scalloped potatoes and fresh vegetables. She found it a bit dry for $42. I had rack of lamb with prawns. It came with scalloped potatoes, fresh vegetables, and rice pilaf. It was plenty of food. I took home two lamb chops. The prawns were grilled and melted butter came with it on the side. The lamb was cooked very well, but the (red wine and mushroom?) sauce tasted slightly strange. $45 for the rack, plus $32 for two prawns! So, their special cost $77. My fault for not asking I guess. read more

The food was absolutely delicious. I had the triple tail Cafe Marco style and my husband had the snow crab legs. We were both very happy with our picks. The goat cheese salad was excellent as was the escargot. Warm rolls with sweet butter were also good. For dessert we had the key lime pie and it was great. Will definitely come here again. read more

Off the tourist corridor of Collier Blv but definitely worth seeking out. Tucked away in Old Marco in a non-descript building. It doesn't look like much until you get inside. I have been visiting Marco Island for 30 years and have dined at this restaurant about 7 times I always remember it as a pleasant experience with good food until my recent dining experience. When the ceiling sound tile crashed into a table near us, that should have been our clue to leave. Horrible service and lack luster food. Our waiter did promptly arrive for our wine order and delivered the wine. Then CRICKETS for a half an hour. We saw people that arrived after us get their orders taken and bread arrived at those table, and appetizers were served. We were not in a hurry, but after 30 minutes and no bread - we felt we were forgotten and definitely wanted to get our orders place. We flagged down a bus boy and told him to tell our waiter that we wanted to order. The waiter arrive and seemed puzzled as to why we wanted to speak with him. He actually said, I hear you want to talk to me. Our appetizers and salads were good, but the entrees (all fish) left a lot to be desired. As my husband said, "This is the first time I got a steak knife with fish". Turned out that he needed it as the grouper special was very dry. My friend and I got the House Specialty - Prawns. $49 for 4 prawns - 3 of which were mushy and inedible. No one to let them know - no one came to our table, except the bus boy. We again asked him to send our waiter. The waiter literally dropped the bill on the table without a comment, "Hope you enjoyed your meal, would you like coffee or dessert? " He then picked up the credit cards, came back and dropped them on the table - no thank you, have a nice evening, hope to see you again. Crickets. We dine out 3 -4 times a week here when we are here from October - May. This was the worst experience we have at restaurant in this area. Cafe de Marco is a gem of a restaurant within Olde Marco. Service is friendly, helpful and will help make recommendations about what is special that day, as well as every day (hint: it's their Jumbo Prawns). We had a lovely table inside during off season, so it wasn't too crowded and we could hear each other while we ate, which is so nice. Our first course was the lobster bisque, which Cafe de Marco considers one of the dishes for which they are best known...and it was delicious! It was served with warm rolls and honey butter...yum! Then there was a salad course, and most of us chose a wedge salad with blue cheese dressing. And for our entrees, 75% of the table ordered the famous Jumbo Prawns broiled, and I got the Grouper Francese special. All the entrees were served with a bed of rice pilaf and fresh veggies. I literally cleaned my plate..it was really perfection. Prices are a bit expensive, so I'll keep this as a special occasion restaurant! But I can't wait to go back, so I guess I need to come up with something to celebrate. :) read more

It just did not work. When a meal cost $40-50 per plate, there is an elegance that is appropriate. The server shouldn't say "no" to all the guests requests. The dining room should be cool in the Summer and the tables should not be Cosco folding tables. My food was just ok, but it was the experience that was really lacking. My boyfriend and his family have been coming to this restaurant for many years during their yearly family trip to Marco Island! I have joined them at this wonderful restaurant since summer 2019 and it is truly amazing each time we come! The warm goat cheese appetizer, lobster bisque, oysters rockefeller, lamb ossabucco and desserts: the cafe puff, key lime pie and passion fruit sorbet are among our favorites on the menu! We have had the pleasure to have Nick as our waiter the past two years and he is a pleasure to see each time! This year, we were served by Robert and he too, was very nice and personable! He went above and beyond to make sure we were all happy and Nick was so nice to come by several times to greet us and make sure everything was great! We look forward to returning next year! We had a great time celebrating our anniversary with our friends (with the same anniversary) here. I love the old history building and their old style Marco Island decor. Their specialty is incredibly fresh seafood and is simply delicious. I had not had Escargot in years and I absolutely LOVED this appetizer. For dinner we ordered Garlic Shrimp, Shrimp Scampi, Broiled Salmon, and the House Specialty, Prawns. Service was truly outstanding! The first night we tried to come here we arrived at 8:00 (they close at 9) but because hey had no reservations they were closing early that night. We came back with a reservation a few nights later! This was our "fancy" dinner for our trip- a veg nice place with excellent service. I had the lobster tail which had a seafood stuffing. The stuffing was awesome- it had little shrimps in it, the lobster was honestly just okay (40$) it was kind of tough and hard to separate to eat. CAFE DE MARCO is the exact OPPOSITE of this! we came in for the twilight special and wine down wednesday. thedo a great special if you come in before 5:45pm where you can choose from a selection of entrees, get bread and honey butter, and a side salad all for $14.95. during season, a meal for one ranges between $30-$45. let's just say, deal of the century, especially on Marco Island. also on wednesday's, you can buy two regularly priced entrees and get a bottle of wine for free! we started off with the french bread and honey butter, which was phenomenal. next, we had house salads and all of their dressing is homemade. delicious! i ordered garlic stuffed shrimp and had a glass of Simi chardonnay with it. the flavors were bountiful!! my mom had the salmon, and i am not usually a huge salmon fan, but i loved this! now for the grand finale, the cafe puff!! i just had the best dessert of my life. i don't care how full you are, absolutely order it! you could split it amongst 8 people and still have leftovers. i had to practice self control and did not finish it but dang i sure could have. also- i highly recommend the prawns. they are famous for these! while i did not get them this time, i was salivating looking at the table next to mine when they received their order. everything was great, service was fantastic, and we walked away very happy! 10/10! however, we did ask them to change the radio station. read more
