I went for lunch to The Crazy Flamingo on a Sunday with family while visiting Marco Island. We all ordered sandwiches with their amazing garlic bread as the bun. I got their grilled chicken sandwich in particular with cheddar and a side of their onion rings. We also enjoyed their Conch Fritters as an appetizer. Everything was delicious! I thought their ordering procedures were interesting. They had a sign in front that read: "First Time? 1.) Grab Menus 2.) Sit Anywhere 3.) When Ready To Order- Come See Us At The Bar." For refills on drinks, they had this community soda gun for guests to come over and use to fill your drink yourself. I liked the island feel inside and it was busy but not too loud. The Crazy Flamingo is a local bar and restaurant in Marco Island. It is located not far from the beach, but it is not ON the beach. It is in an area with shops and other restaurants with lots of free parking options. The cool thing about this spot is you grab a seat, go up to the bar inside and order at your own speed! They don't have servers to take your order but they are available for any questions! They call your name over a speaker when your food is ready. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with pool tables inside and it is dog friendly! I ordered 1 lb of peel and eat shrimp and they were cooked to perfect with just enough crunch and easy to peel, it came right out of the shell! The melted butter and cocktail sauce added some great flavor. The menu is limited but offers a variety from seafood to salads, wings and burgers! My husband had the hottest wings you could get (pending flavor, I forget!) and he tolerates anything hot and these had a nice kick! My family came in because of the name and we did not leave disappointed. We only ordered appetizers but found them all to be very delicious. The giant pretzel was not giant but was so good, it had a little spice to it and good texture. The fries were amazing, crispy and warm. They did forget our salad and fries at first but when we went up and asked they gave us free garlic bread so it's all good. The setup is unique, with there being no servers, you just go up to the bar when you're ready to order. It works well for them. read more

Such a great little place! Our friends that frequent Marco suggested we meet here. We weren't disappointed! First of all, everyone is so nice and welcoming, typical of Marco we found. I went to Crazy Flamingos for my birthday with my mom, sister, and a friend. My mom has actually been going there for a long time, so we expected a great experience. The setup is that you order at the bar which is fine, but the bartender was completely dismissive and rude. I needed help choosing a drink, and she barely helped at all. Then, we were asked for a card to keep on file just because we were sitting outside, which felt off. After we finished, I went inside to pay, she claimed she didn't have the card and needed another ,and they charged both of our cards. When we called back to question it, the manager, Rob, was very dismissive. We also told him the bartender gave us terrible service, and all he said was that he's been doing business that way for 30 years. On top of that, she added gratuity on her own, which was really strange since we've always been generous tippers. It was a disappointing and sketchy experience. As a server myself i was very disappointed.I wouldn't recommend it. read more

We've been hearing great things about The Crazy Flamingo for years, but hadn't ever made it over there on our one-week-a-year vacations since we tended towards any restaurants on the water. Now that we're more full-time, we went over on a Saturday night in season for dinner. There is no wait staff at The Crazy Flamingo. You grab any free table (there may be a wait) or a seat at the bar. There are menus at the bar for you to peruse at your own pace at your table. And then you place your food order at the bar...the bartenders are very helpful with the menu because of this, but please know what you want when you get up there. This is not the time to ask 100 questions about sauces...there will very likely be a line of people behind you waiting to order. The bartender will get you your drinks and then you go back to your table to wait for your name to be called. If you're sitting outside there is a loudspeaker so you'll still hear your name. The Crazy Flamingo is famous for their burger. It comes on a kaiser roll, but they recommend the upgrade to the garlic bread toast which is their signature. I ordered the Fried Shrimp basket which was very good, and my friends both both the burgers...it looked so good. And though the cheeseburger on the garlic bread was a messy indulgence, I was jealous I didn't order it...definitely next time. We sat outside which was really nice. The inside has a pool table and some live music on certain nights. This is definitely a fun locals gem that is very welcoming to visitors. read more

We found this gem during our couples trip! Everyone was super friendly upon walking in and the food and service did not disappoint either! I ordered Fried Pot Stickers, wings and jalapeno poppers. YUMMY! The group as a whole ordered a huge variety, but we found out they were known for their INCREDIBLE wings! HOLY MOLY! DO NOT MISS OUT ON THEM OR THEIR BLEU CHEESE DRESSING! This is the first resource came to 28 years ago. Nothing has changed, it's fabulous. It's usually the first place to eat when we come to the island. The fish sandwich will transcend you. It's light and crispy and giant in size. The burger is really good too! The mussels are wonderful. The menu has enough variety to satisfy almost every one. The bar is loud and friendly! This place is super fun. They are OPEN during the reopening phases of COVID19. The staff are very attentive and hospitable. During the evenings they have a larger crowd but still somewhat abide by the social distancing standards. During the afternoons you can sit in or outside and also allow service animals. Their food is VERY FRESH! I highly recommend their seafood if that's what you're in the mood for. Their decor is very FLAMINGO and pink everything. This may seem like an odd choice at a seafood bar but it was recommended by the staff and I wasn't disappointed. It was a generous portion and paired with fries which were perfectly cooked. Do you enjoy horrible customer service? Yes? Then this is definitely your place! Tried calling to get a copy of a receipt charged to my company credit card, but the GM Rob didn't want to listen to anything I had to say. Instead he made it a point of speaking over me, deflecting everything I was saying with increasingly rude behavior and flaunting his ignorance of how to speak to people, all while cementing his position amongst the worst culinary managers I've ever encountered. Which, by the way, includes some all-star clowns I had the misfortune of working for while I was in the restaurant business. So if this sounds like someone you'd like to deal with, this is probably a good place to do that. But if you prefer to be treated with dignity and respect, and be served by courteous and professional people, avoid this establishment entirely. Now I'm sure this establishment will try and say that I've never been in there and that this review is invalid, but the receipts on my company credit card certainly prove otherwise.
