We've been getting take out from Lee Chen for almost 15 years. Their food is good and consistent. Crab Rangoons have good texture and flavor. We LOVE the Peking raviolis. The pork fried rice is great, as is the sesame chicken and tangerine chicken. If I had to complain about anything, I miss the little satchel of crunchy fried wontons strips they used to include, but honestly.... Surprising combination of bargain basement lunch specials pricing, big portions, respectable quality, and friendly service. Clean, well-kept place. Sweet and Sour Chicken (on the combo): Seven large pieces, very high meat-to-batter ratio, good crispness on some, not so crisp on others, and a mild "blush" take on the sweet and sour sauce. Cherries and pineapples included. Interestingly served on its own plate, separate from the rice and appetizer, and there was enough there that it could pass as a full order at some places. Pork Fried Rice (on the combo, served in its own bowl ): Not listed as one of the options, but they accommodated me, and it came out surprisingly well-- sort of a cross between Yang Chow fried rice and old school pork fried rice. The pork was fresh and tender; the egg prominent. Very enjoyable even though I was hoping for old school style. Egg Roll (on the combo, served on its own plate ): Small, crisp of shell, and crisp and moist inside, with mostly cabbage and pork. Decent seasoning. Duck Sauce: A cross between standard applesauce-based duck sauce and the dreaded orange packets. Perhaps a little too close to the latter. Overall, an impressive spread for a mere $10.95. The food itself was incredibly excellent fresh vegetables and spring rolls were delicious and fresh. We thought there was food was solid. The ribs had lots of meat on them. The egg drop soup was very good. I liked their sauce on the general tsaos chicken. Delivery went super smooth. We might be a little partial around the corner, but we would order there again. read more

Friday 05/22/2026 dinner with the Misses. Never ever ever again. Started with a simple wonton soup that had absolutely no taste or flavor on the wonton or the broth felt like I was eating hot water. We both ordered the vegetables medley mine seafood witch was supposed to contain lobster shrimp and scallops was so bland no flavor Lobster non existent frozen scallops shrimp was just ok the Misses had the beef version witch she barely touched same bland flavorless dish just with beef . Long story short we went there hungry left hungry paid a bunch of money . As the waiter comes to our table we ask for a check he sees the food barely touched along with the cup of soup that was still full to the rim and doesn't even ask if anything was wrong with the food .With a straight face brings the check places it on the table and walks away expecting us to pay for the garbage he knows he brought but we were not satisfied with. The Misses doesn't like to fuzz about the food and Tab just wants to go . I was pissed because i did want to fuzz but bit my tongue we paid and left . Food can be bad anywhere at any given time it happens. But the service and blatant disregard for your customers and quality of food is just something i will not tolerate anymore with restaurants in this economy. If you can't provide good food and service then shut the fucking doors and stop robbing folks for their hard earned money with your crappy food and even worse service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT TO ANYONE I REPEAT DO NOT IF VALUE YOUR MONEY VISIT THIS BUSINESS AT ALL . You will be disappointed. We will never go back and will spread the word about this crappy place to anyone who listens and know until I see them out of business. They have been there long enough to not care. We rolled in with a group of 24 teenagers nearing closing time, and they didn't bat an eye. Service was great, they kept everything straight for the orders. Food came out quickly. We have been coming to this place for takeaway for years at this point. They are very fast and accommodating. The friendly staff answer the phone quickly! The food has slightly gone downhill in quality after Covid, however the Mapo Tofu is still our favorite menu item which has seen the least of the change. Overall a solid place for quick, affordable takeaway. This restaurant is without a doubt my favorite Chinese food. I have been here a few times and each time it is Clean and the food is VERY good and still piping hot when I get home from take out. I am just one ordering and when I get a special there is plenty for me to have the next day for lunch too. The gentleman at the register was very polite. I do want to point out that I read a lot of reviews and especially anyone who rates a 1 or 2 Star and then I go and read the history of the reviewers who give one or two Stars. I read and went into the history of all maybe 10 of the 1 and 2 star reviews and every single one of them have rated 85 to 90 % of places they have been to with 1 Star. Lee Chen is now open for Dining IN! Apparently, they've been open for the past several months. Shame on me for not being more aware of my dining options. The restaurant is still as clean and classy as ever. I had the aptly named Chicken Amazing. It was a little bit more spicy than I remember but it's still an awesome dish. The Crab Rangoon was also excellent. Lee Chen has regained its spot at the top of my favorite Chinese Restaurants. read more

The food looked as fresh as it tasted. I found this place just few days ago. I'm from Georgetown and for the people that wrote bad reviews about this restaurant they should go eat near Georgetown. Only offering takeout is fine, but I would expect that to result in care and attention to detail for all meal preparations - that was not the case. We ordered shrimp chow mein, but got a big containtainer of bean sprouts and other vegetables in a white sauce with a few small shrimp. It was like a thick soup with no noodles - this was an order for kids to share, so that was a bust. The tangerine chicken tasted good, but we found two small bones in the chicken pieces, and it was prepared with dehydrated mushrooms. I don't mind that they were dehydrated originally, but they should be REhydrated and washed before cooking. It was like biting into dirty leather. The pork fried rice was made with some very fatty, flavorless pork that seemed to be boiled before putting into the fried rice. I saw some very nice reviews on here, so I was really surprised by the bad experience. I don't know if this downturn is recent, or due to the pandemic; but unfortunately, it was so bad that I'm not willing to give it another try. read more

On Valentine's Day 2020, my wife and I visited this restaurant - actually the third time. Our previous two experiences were at least 6 months apart - but our memories suggests that we enjoyed our experience. This time it was "everything 'but' enjoyable".......! We arrived at 7:30 PM and were seated two tables next to a large party of children complete with balloons, parents w/grandparents - probably 25 people altogether and very, VERY loud. After living with the noise loud enough to prevent my wife or I from being heard by one another, we finally asked the waiter to relocate us "as far away as possible". That he did (he was the store manager). We appreciated it and told him so. We put onto a very small table -- after we saw it, we asked for a normal 4 person table which we were given. Then we placed our order. Our starter was Pot Stickers (a no-brainer I would think?). We followed this up with their AMAZING SHRIMP PLATE - and an order for Scrimp Lo-main. What we received, after our order was: Pot Stickers - UNDER-COOKED - basically raw, tasking like raw paste with the stuffing totally cold. The Amazing Shrimp - 8 shrimp (for $15) with VERY few vegetables smothered in a tasteless sauce SHRIMP LO-MEIN - served with tiny (and I mean TINY) shrimp that were surrounded by the lo-mein noodles, a little (tiny I should define what we really received) vegetables and buried in a brown sauce. Tasteless for sure. At least it was warm - NOT HOT. After sampling the dishes, we elected to ask that they be put into "take away cartons" and finished our VALENTINE DAY MEAL - leaving terribly disappointed. What a difference between our 1st experience vs. what we received that day. I expect we will NOT repeat our experience again anytime soon. It's too bad that in the Merrimack Valley, there isn't a 1st class Chinese Restaurant looking for business? If one ever did come along, my wife and I would be regular customers.
