Fish was cooked well and the pieces were quite thick. Large portion. Seafood chowder also has a generous about of seafood. Barely any potatoes. Staff are friendly. The service is always great, and the food is always great. We live close by, so we can smell the steak tips grilling and just follow our nose over there like a cartoon smelling an apple pie on a window sill. Sometimes a wait in the summer, but that's a good sign, no? Cool inside, with tons of Boston sports memorabilia and a game on pretty much every one of their 15+(?) TVs. Honorable mention orders: -Nachos -Burger -Steak tips -Baked stuffed shrimp -Prime rib -Chicken parm (pasta or sub) -Hear me out, the side salad (???) -Fried haddock (as is or via sandwich) -Pretzels with cheese -Stuffed mushrooms -Again, the nachos I honestly could just copy and paste the menu here, but that's already available online. We love it, and will be back as often as possible until the end of time.

First things first - parking is super easy, it's a free valet service (not obvious at first, as there is parking behind the restaurant, but you're greeted right away when you pull in). We walked through the bar area, over to the restaurant area (surprisingly the bar was quite full), and were able to choose a table by one of the two fireplaces. On the restaurant side, it feels very cozy, and homey, exactly where you want to spend a cold night, inside eating dinner. Our server was lovely, greeted us right away and provided menus. I started with a cosmo (they had flavored versions like strawberry, but I elected to go for the classic). For an appetizer, we started with the bacon wrapped scallops - the bacon was maple glazed, and wonderfully crispy, with the scallops cooked perfectly, and some micro-greens scattered on the plate - delicious. For entrees, my mom had the baked seafood stuffed haddock which came with a lobster sherry cream sauce, a massive pile of perfectly cooked green beans, and mashed potatoes (yum). I went with the duck special, which was absolutely delightful. It came with Brussels sprouts, and I subbed out the au gratin (I very strongly dislike sweet potatoes), for mashed potatoes. It was delicious. We were so full, we opted for dessert to go (chocolate cake), which was generously portioned, and decadently delicious. We really enjoyed the meal - this was a wonderful dinner to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday!

This is exactly the kind of place you stumble upon and immediately want to visit again and start…read moretelling everyone about. Chef/owner Norman has built something truly special here, dedication was on full display with every plate. I came with the family and started off with one of the specials, tuna tartare cannolis which were nothing short of spectacular and elegant, showing off all the skill back in the kitchen (hoping they stay around as a staple). I ordered the double patty smashburger with Vermont cheddar and caramelized onions which was juicy, packed with flavor and delicious with the house sauce. My wife got the fish tacos which were fresh, light and perfectly balanced with all the condiments without feeling like your usually heavily fried seafood. The kids were well taken care of too with the burger and chicken tenders which didn't stand a chance. Never seen my little ladies eat so fast and clear their plates. In their words, "the best Eat Store Ever!" We saved room for the maple brown sugar cake with ice cream, and it did not disappoint. The perfect sweet finish to a memorable meal. Eaten so fast that I was left scavenging for scraps and melted ice cream once I was able to dig in. The cherry on top was the people. Our server Brittany was warm, attentive, and genuinely wonderful -- the kind of service that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. We also had the pleasure of chatting with Chef Norman himself as he brought out some of our dishes and the dishes of other customers. You can tell this place is a labor of love. If you're anywhere near Wells, do yourself a favor and eat at Sea Salt Fry Co, it is the real deal. We can't wait to be back!

"Salt air, and the rust on your door I never needed anything…read moremore" (Taylor Swift) What a welcoming experience we had at Sea Salt Fry! It seemed as though every staff member we interacted with tried to outdo their predecessor in customer service and just plain friendliness. Our server, Tony was great. He was very attentive without being intrusive, and was perfect with his check-backs and water refills. Our dinner was an order of Skinny Chicken ($26) - two pan seared chicken breasts. lemon, capers, garlic, and an arugula salad, and a Single Patty Smash Burger with cheese ($13.25) on a potato bun with shaved lettuce, onion, homemade pickles and kettle chips. My chicken was excellent. The portion was very generous and the preparation was perfect. It was moist and juicy, and that lemon sauce was amazing. My wife enjoyed her burger, and I have to admit that I mooched a few of the homemade kettle chips and they were beyond terrific. With their Michelin award winning chef, and wonderful atmosphere, Sea Salt Fry Company was a great dinner destination for us.
