This time we decided to arrive extra early to avoid the previous situation. It was a sunny warm day but we were informed that the upstairs deck was closed because they were short staffed. We were looking forward to outside dining but the first floor deck is small and all the diners appeared to be having drinks. We choose first available which ended up being inside. When we first sat down, the couple sitting next to us wished us good luck getting our meals in the near future. Apparently all the others customers around arrived after them and they were almost finished with their meals and theirs hadn't arrived. A server offered them a compensatory drink for their inconvenience. One accepted and the other told them that she was done drinking for the day. When their bill arrived, the second customer asked if her drink could be comped. Her request was declined because they said that it would have been applied to the second drink and not to the first. As for our dinner, we went for the colossal lobster roll - hot with butter. We prefer the roll on the side to avoid it getting soggy. The regular lobster roll is currently priced at $35 with 1/4 lbs of meat. The colossal is $45 with 1/2 lbs of lobster meat. Our lobster meat was overcooked as it was slightly rubbery. That's not the quality we have gotten used to from years of visiting this restaurant. They may have had an off day as they were understaffed.
