We have been going there every year since it opened and it is always consistent and good food. Our second year visiting at Maine Catch. Lovely outdoor dining in a sunken garden in front, but this year we sat indoors which reminded me of a lovely Adirondack pine panel inn. Our server Benjamin was excellent. We started with 10 Maine oysters which were well shucked and ice cold. They were sweet and delicious + added two raw clams. Each oyster was labeled with cute wood sticks. Love the Maine oyster names. The Maine course was lobster risotto with balsamic drizzle. The rice was perfectly cooked with good deep flavor. The disappointment was the less than 2 Oz - 1/2 lobster tail sitting on top. It was tender, but a little more lobster pieces in this almost $40 dish of creamy Arborio rice would have been nice. The balsamic drizzle was a great taste touch. Lobster roll - nice presentation and tender lobster on the warm under-buttered hot dog roll - but not enough lobster. Decent fries and small cold slaw. Good flavor but sides should not be an extra charge. Blueberry pie - good but not as good as the nearby Ogunquit restaurant competition. This was our 2nd time here and it was just as good as the first. First due to a special diet I need to be very careful about my eating. They were so accommodating with everything. What a delicious dinner!! Everything was absolutely perfect. Our waitress was excellent and even with my elderly parents asking ridiculous questions and taking forever to answer her, she was still happy and very kind and understanding. We had a little bit of everything on the menu. My husband had oysters and said they were the best he's ever had. Came here while we were staying at the Blue Shutters inn last weekend. This was recommended to us by the staff at the inn and it was only a short walk. Very convenient location. We made reservations only a couple hours ahead of time. We were seated upstairs and our server Shannon was amazing- very friendly and nice. We ordered the garden salad which was actually quite a decent portion and nice. I ordered the grilled salmon and the hubs ordered the lobster Mac and cheese. When they brought the entrees- mine was incorrect - was a scallops dish instead of salmon. We told the server and she corrected the order. I ate the salad meanwhile and then the salmon arrived. It came with rice and a side of their kale vegetable medley which was nice. The salmon was tender although there were parts of it that were blackened almost burnt. Hubs liked the Mac n cheese - quite a large portion so he had leftovers. The restaurant seems popular as it was fairly crowded and the ambiance was cozy. Seemed like people sitting at the bar too. The Maine Catch has so much potential. The food was terrific -- everything we ate was delicious -- but the service (or lack thereof) left a lot to be desired. Thankfully, we went to The Maine Catch on Saturday with reservations, as they were packed. The restaurant is beautiful and has plenty of parking; it's between Perkins Cove and Ogunquit's Main Street, nestled amidst countless of trees. They have outdoor and indoor seating. From the moment we walked inside and told the hostess we had a reservation, we were met with a cold vibe, very unlike Maine and Ogunquit ( and something you wouldn't expect at a restaurant of this caliber). Our waitress's service was no better. She seemed checked out, and everything felt very transactional. The food made its way to us quickly--sometimes too quickly, as in the case of the crispy calamari starter--which led to a few misses, like having the food arrive before our drinks. Our waitress just seemed to not care. She'd talk to us in passing and do the bare minimum. It was one of the worst services we've seen at a Maine restaurant. The one thing that saved The Maine Catch, and the reason they're still getting 4-stars, is the food. Our crispy calamari was perfect; not too much breading or super greasy, as is usually the case. The accompanying sauce had a nice kick to it. My partner's lobster mac and cheese was the best we've ever had, and the portion was generous. My blackened salmon, with rice and veggies, was also a 10/10 and probably one of the best salmons I've eaten. The rice was cooked to perfection. Would we come back to The Maine Catch? This place was next door to the hotel we were staying at and decided to try it after reading some reviews, we entered into the restaurant to find a very Rustic but charming/romantic coastal place. We were met by a friendly host who promptly seated us. Within 3 minutes our waiter came by with water for us and took our drink orders and made some Recommendations on appetizers. We went with the raw oysters and clam chowder. Oh my gosh this place was ahmazing!!!!!! Had been driving all day with nothing delicious to eat for the day other than tourist fast food. Called to see their hours and they said they closed in 35 min. I hated to be the last table but was really in a bind for good food and new to the area and being from the west coast (time change) I was starving. Delicious and quaint find a few steps away from the busy downtown Ogunquit. My boyfriend and I had a reservation but we noticed that walk-ins were still possible. We were sat on the restaurant's patio, and our server Kenroy was very friendly and set a good vibe for our dinner. We started with some Maine oysters and some calamari, which were fine. I also had a white sangria which was very refreshing and went very well with our fish-based dishes. The star of the show was the spaghettoni with clams. They had a slight kick, so just be aware of that if you're sensitive to spice. Otherwise, the saltiness of the clams were perfectly balanced by a light garlic, wine and parmesan sauce. The "bakers dozen" oysters were very well presented with a divine rendition of mignonette and a not overly "horseradish'd" cocktail sauce. I had a terrible experience with service which basically resulted in me being at the restaurant for an hour and a half and i never got my food. i spoke to the manager who didn't do anything to remedy the situation except not charge me for the food i never got and i was so upset by what happened i wrote a follow up email with additional feedback. throughout all this i tried to be kind, understanding and reasonable and really just wanted an apology. i never got it from the manager, i never got a response to my email so i guess my conclusion is this place doesn't seem to care about their customers. read more

The Maine Catch is located in a cute redone New England styled house front turned restaurant. Although the interior has a darker almost lodge feel to it. Our waitress was above and beyond kind to my friend and I as we were celebrating our shared birthday dinner together. I ordered a muscle scampi which was one of the best scampi dishes I've ever had. My friend order their fish and chips and thought it to be average. Their wheat beer was incredibly good as well. Our dinner concluded with two flans topped off with birthday candles. Overall an amazing experience and one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. My only complaint is that their bathrooms are strangely hot. Please with all the options available in this most wonderful of Maine beach towns do NOT go here. We arrived on the recommendation of a friend who said she had a great meal here. We were ready to eat and ready to pay for great food. Atmosphere nice. Waitress nice but not as nearly chatty with us as with the table next to us who got three rounds of drinks (12 total) in under an hour. But we can't complain about that. The problem was truly the food. The so called burrata was shockingly like Polly -O and 20 bucks. The jumbo shrimp cocktail was jumbo and nothing else. Rubbery and like it was frozen. The biggest let down was my surf and turf which clocked in at about 70 bucks. The price would've fine if the strip steak weren't like from a sizzler and overdone - truly as rough as leather- and a lobster tail that I thought was a joke. Tiny. Dry as a desert and just thrown on the plate like a mistake. Omg. In MAINE where all the lobster we have ever eaten is served with a such a pride and strut as if to say: beat this to the next restaurant. It was worse than red lobster lobster and I was shocked. The last time I didn't finish a meal of surf and turf is never. Total bill was round about 200 with NO alcohol. Thankfully our ordeal was over in under an hour. So hey the service was fast.
