Everyone at the hospital is warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. Dr. Lewis and his team consistently recommend the best treatment plans and care options without ever making us feel pressured to purchase unnecessary services, which sets them apart from other clinics. As a fellow Cavalier King Charles owner himself, Dr. Lewis truly understands the breed, which gives us even more confidence and trust in his care. We are so grateful to have found him and highly recommend HB Pet Hospital!

From the front desk to the technicians to Dr. Lewis himself, everyone is genuinely empathetic and dedicated. Dr. Lewis consistently goes above and beyond--he personally followed up daily after a more serious treatment, until Dillan was doing better. He spends ample time during each visit, thoroughly explaining his findings and recommendations. His advice and procedures are always focused on what's best for both the pet and the family, and he's very transparent and considerate when discussing financial options. I can't recommend Dr. Lewis and his staff highly enough. They truly set the standard for compassionate veterinary care.

I'm so done with this place. I had been a loyal client for 20 years until this past month. The…read moreratings here used to be really high until they were sold to a larger vet company. This seems to be the trend in the industry. Small independent vets getting purchased by the big guys. Next comes the push for profits, the needless upselling and the complete loss of confidence that the vet acts in your best interest. My dog injured himself during play time. A CCL injury (similar to an ACL in humans), the most common in dogs and cats. I brought him in and met with Veronica Botros. She never touched my dog. Just heard about the symptoms and immediately ordered a full blood panel and X-rays. Stated that surgery was probably needed and the blood panel was necessary to see if the anti-inflammatory and pain meds would be a problem on his stomach. I was also talked into a deep ear cleaning and a supposedly new two-phase vaccination. When I saw the costs for everything, I pushed back. All of a sudden, they dropped the price of the blood panel by only screening for what was needed in the first place. Total upselling garbage. My dog is suffering and they are padding the bill. I was there for three hours. I finally got a bill for $900 and was told that someone would view the X-rays and get back to me. A day later, they emailed stating his CCL was indeed torn and surgery was recommended. $4,900 estimate. My bullshit meter was in overdrive. She never touched him! We spent the next two weeks keeping the dog under limited movement and treating with the prescribed meds. He got better but was still favoring the leg. I went out and got a second opinion from my vet in Tustin that takes care of my cat. We have used him since we have some unique issues with the cat and this guy was highly recommended. When this vet saw my dog, he performed a cranial drawer test, something that AAA never performed. He said the ligament was "partially" torn and surgery was not recommended at this time. AAA recommended 6-8 weeks of 100% crate rest. Plus, another 6-8 weeks after surgery if we took that option. That would be pure torture for my little guy. The new vet says to slowly exercise with short slow walks and the same type of limited movement we have been doing. Surgery may still be needed down the road but this is a much more viable option for my family. I can no longer recommend AAA and refuse to go back there. Profits over patients.

He was actively bleeding, and the staff was able to urgently fit him in right away. From the front desk to the nurses and doctors, everyone was compassionate, welcoming, and extremely knowledgeable during a very stressful time. Dr. Babcock was outstanding. He thoroughly explained the treatment plan, was completely upfront about costs (which we found very reasonable), and stitched Kota up beautifully. We truly appreciated the time he took to explain his findings and procedure in detail, which gave us a lot of reassurance and confidence. The next day, we discovered a second wound, and Dr. Belluz was able to see Kota immediately. She carefully treated the wound and clearly explained all of our options with patience and compassion. What really sets this office apart is how much they genuinely care. The team followed up with us throughout Kota's recovery, and every interaction made us feel supported as pet parents. We cannot thank the team enough. Kota received exceptional care, and we are incredibly grateful.

I only waited five minutes, and Skittles was seen by a vet tech (I think her name is Zia). She was AMAZING. She is definitely a cat person, and she was so loving towards Skittles! Very knowledgeable as well. Dr. Saini came in and spent a little time with her, checking her eye because she had a cloudy area on her cornea. He did a test that showed it was likely scar tissue, and we got her tested for Herpes and Calcivirus (she was negative for both). He did hear a slight heart murmur, but we are hopeful she will grow out of it. When I was concerned over the next few days about the color of her stools (black, but not tarry), one of the vet techs took the time to call me and reassure me she was okay. I was also impressed that the owner of the practice, Dr. Mann, called me to check up on everything and give me the good results from the viral test. I have had vet techs and front desk workers call me with news in the past, and it is much more reassuring coming from a vet.

He couldn't move and was whimpering in pain. We called and were told to come in immediately. When we arrived, a team was already outside waiting with a gurney. They gently helped him from our truck and brought him in right away. Within 30 minutes, we had answers and guidance during an incredibly difficult moment. Although the outcome wasn't what we hoped for, Chase did not suffer long--and that means everything to us. The compassion, professionalism, and dignity they showed our family was beyond exceptional. And the cost (under $300) for that level of care truly deserves recognition. We are beyond thankful. This is a place you can trust with your pet--your family.

When I explained this to the woman who answered the phone, she responded with, "What do you mean? Like evacuate the building?" and laughed. I was already extremely distressed and trying to get emergency care for a very sick dog. I then had to explain the procedure myself while asking about potential costs and urgency. I understand exact pricing may not be possible over the phone, but the overall interaction made the office sound uninformed and unprofessional during a very serious situation. Because of how the call was handled, I did not feel confident or safe bringing my dog there for emergency treatment. My veterinarian had specifically recommended emergency evaluation overnight, but after this interaction I stayed home instead. Tragically, my dog passed away during the night. I understand front desk staff are not veterinarians, but basic professionalism, compassion, and familiarity with emergency terminology should be expected at an after-hours veterinary office.
