I was a new client and had a confirmed appointment. It was double booked and I said I would wait. I was checked in only once to see if I needed a no chip removal ( I did not). 43 minutes later I approached the desk to see how much longer as I felt I was beyond patient. The person was on the phone and when done did not acknowledge me and literally turned around to talk to some employee. To add insult to injury, I wasn't offered another tech even though there was one available. The location is dated and the person I spoke w to make the appointment was difficult to understand. It also would have been nice to be offered a cup of water as other salons do. I'm giving two stars because the lady who booked it did apologize. Needless to say I wouldn't return. read more

Ma was about to celebrate her 50th wedding anniversary. Naturally I wanted Ma to feel "special" so a spa mani/pedi was planned elsewhere. But, due to scheduling conflicts it couldn't happen. Since I drive through this area very often and most times see this salon busy, I figured why not. SMH.. Should have checked reviews first but instead just thought, lemme use a local spot and just see how it goes. . . First bad sign was when they said they were really busy but could fit them in. Price seemed okay for last minute. $50 for a spa mani/pedi job. I was making an appointment for my mother and her sister. IMO with any sort of paint job, you want painters to have as much time and attention paid to the details as possible. When Ma and her sister came back from their appointment, they had nothing good to reveal. They told me they felt rushed. Their manicurist was working on multiple people, handling phone calls, the door and more details while they were left in the chair. Looking at their mani/pedi the work looked janky AF. I should have taken before and after photos. From far away, it looks okay. Up close is where you start to notice the obvious defects. Also, neither liked the paint color. They hated it but thought since she put in time to paint, they shouldn't complain. Of course I explained to Ma later, you are the purchaser. Money talks and the paint is your choice, not theirs. The manicurist chose a nude tone which is fine for Caucasian skin tones, I know my ladies would have preferred something closer to theirs. The worst of the mani/pedi was the paint job itself. The layering was off and the "no chip" was chipping within two days. My Ma is an older, retired lady so she isn't performing any rough work or handling anything that would chip or damage her nails. Awful experience at this nail salon. The place was dirty and dusty. Nail tools were being rinsed in dirty water (in the pedicure tubs) and then used on other customers. The staff was incredibly unprofessional--some were talking on their phones and one was FaceTiming for probably 15minutes while walking around the salon with a broom. I received a gift card to Lee nails. After seeing the reviews, I was hesitant to try it. However, who can resist a free mani pedi? I guess I wasn't surprised. My technician rushed through the process and seemed rough. Also, I didn't see her clean the tools or pull them out of the sanitized package like they do at my usual spot (LVX nails). 3 days later my manicure has already chipped and she cut one toenail so short that I've been in pain. This place is mediocre at best: I scheduled an appointment for 2 acrylic full sets, for me and my friend. My friend sat down right away and I had to wait more than 10 minutes. Windy got started on me and although not talkative, she was patient and asked me if I liked it every step of the way. The price is reasonable, $28 for full set, $20 for a full in. I chose coffin, so it was $5 extra, which is fine and common, BUT what I don't understand is why I was charged $3 extra for length.. I get long acrylics a lot at many different places and have never been charged extra for that, that's ridiculous. As for the actual nails, the shape is unimpressive, but she piled on the nail polish. This was a very odd experience Went for manicures here because our usual spot didn't have openings until late. My nails are crooked My boyfriends nails are crooked Mai did my nails and didn't say a word to me She cut my cuticle and it was bleeding After using the clippers she put a cover on them and put them back in her drawer. I have been frequenting this place since it first opened 14 years ago. I have seen lots of people come and go. I've always been happy with my manicures and pedicures. Lately, the quality has gone to shizzz. I usually have Oak do my nails and she is awesome. I made an appointment 2 weeks ago with Oak for a full at 11:00 am this past Tuesday. 20 minutes before my appointment I get a call telling me that Oak was sick and I needed to reschedule. I was a bit concerned because I only let Oak do my nails. I rescheduled for 2:15 pm with Rosie. 5 minutes later she calls me with an attitude asking me what I wanted? A fill I told her. I asked why she was asking me since I told whoever called me to reschedule what I needed done. She said" you asked for a gel fill and a dip" why on God's earth would I want to completely different things? Communication is a problem here. I got there, she took me on time and asked me why I was there again. I explained just an acrylic fill and color. I could see her facial expression changing. She started to remove the nail polish and noticed it was no chip from before. This was a new set and Oak talked me into no chip. She said it will cost you $5.00 more to remove the gel and since you want regular nail polish another $15.00. Your nails are too long and if you dony cut them that's another $5.00 because it's too much work and more acrylic. I almost fainted. What the heck was she talking about? I have never heard of such absurdity anywhere much less there. I told her to fill my nails with acrylic, and not to touch the length or anything else. She was not going to dictate to me how long I want to wear my nails. By the way, she didn't even break a sweat using the electric drill removing the no chip previously applied. Throughout this process she kept on talking in her language to the other workers there. They worked turn around and look at me. I could here no chip..blah, blah and something or other. So I decided to record her conversations to have one of my friends translate it to me. Anyway, I became so uncomfortable that I told her to just finish filling my nails and leave them without color. I paid and left. My bill came to $30.00 just for a fill. She was upset because in the past I have spent upwards of a $100.00 on pedicures, and gel nails. I called the owner Jenny who seemed concerned at first and agreed that I should have been charged only $20.00 for the acrylic fill. She took my number down and promised to call me right back. I called her to follow up and no answer. I left her a voice mail and nothing. All I wanted was an explanation as to why I was overcharged. There are no signs anywhere in the store saying "we will charge you what we feel we want to charge you and if unhappy we will talk about you in our language to make you feel uncomfortable" Jenny, I hope you enjoy the extra $10.00 I was overcharged. I will be contacting the BBB to make them aware of how you operate. read more

My nails look TERRIBLE! The customer service was awful to begin. The girl at the front desk was rude & distracted. I got a no chip manicure and it started chipping and peeling up around the sides 3 days after I got my nails done. Every other time I've gone somewhere to get no chip it's lasted 2 weeks. Also, when I got my nails done the nail tech was super unsanitary using her own finger nails to peel off the existing no chip on my nails, which was painful, then continued to use equipment that had t been cleaned prior to doing my nails. First time at lee nails doing a French dip, however my dip chipped within 5 days. I had to come back to get it repair. Instead of redoing the whole nail they only filled in the part that was chipped, kept flinging my nail, it was lumpy and Suneven. I asked if she could make they French line more even she said she had to keep filing my nail down to make it even but she was making my nail even shorter. Honestly if you are not a loyal customer there I do not recommend for you to go there unless you have been there before. They are extremely rude. I gave it three stars because the lady I had was actually really good and thorough. I wish I got her name because she's who you want to do your nails. She was kind, patient, and actually listened to what I wanted for my nails. Thank you. However, the nail technician my sister got was pretty rude. My sister wanted a specific color, and the lady kept telling my sister "no that won't look good how about this color?" I'm sorry but we didn't ask for opinions. Instead of focusing on what my sister wanted she kept talking to the technician working on my nails, and messed up what my sister initially asked for. My sister wanted a solid color on four fingers, and a glitter finger on the ring fingers. She initially put all solid colors, and made a huge deal about it. She said it was too late, and my nail technician guided her through how to fix it. Granted, we don't speak the same language but my sister's technician kept saying glitter while speaking with my technician right after the incident. She then put glitter on all the nails. It was an uncomfortable situation to be in. When it was time to dry my sister's nails the nail technician told her "one more time and you're done" and she walked away. We were under the impression she had to switch hands. Apparently not because the nail technician walked back over, and scolded my sister for putting in the other hand. Maybe it's best to not walk away from the client until 100% done with that client. She definitely put a damper on our sister time. The whole point of getting your nails done is to feel relaxed, and refreshed. We walked out pretty upset. read more

Ok so I will usually go to somewhere local to do my nails, but this one specific time my mom said this place was good and we went here. I got just a regular set of acrylics with regular polish, they said they changed extra for shape and color which I thought was weird because don't they include that? Well the nails turned out amazing and I absolutely loved them! I'll attach a photo with the blue colored nails. However today I just went in for a fill and it was a different woman doing my nails, however I didn't mind since I didn't catch the person of who did my nail last time. So I picked out my color and she started to take of the old polish which was kind of an easy process but I happened to noticed she left some glitter on the accent nail and some fuzz from the cotton but I didn't think it was a big deal. Then she pulls out the nail drill and starts to file the acrylic and around it when she keep hitting my finger. I thought it was okay and I kept saying to myself maybe it's just my finger, but no she was really rushing to the point where when she was done rushing with the drill and told me to wash my hands, my cuticles burned! I've never ever had an issue with my cuticles before she drilled them. I come back and she starts to paint when she points out the color I picked she sheer and asked me if I wanted to get another one. To which I replied sure and got a similar color in a different brand. After she was done painting she told me to put my hands in front of the fans to dry and when I thought they were dry enough to look at I inspected them and I had seen she nicked one of my nails and all of other nails were done sloppily and messy, you could also see under the polish when she filed the acrylic it wasn't smooth and left lines. To this which I showed the receptionist when I went to the front and she got the lady to repaint them a different color, keep in mind not removing the old polish, just painting on top. When she finished painting she cleaned up the nails with acetone and again it burned my cuticles, but it was done rushed and messy, she didn't even apply a second coat. Don't even bother to make an appointment at this place. Even though I had a 11:00 a.m. appointment I didn't get into a chair until 11:40. Walks in were going ahead of me. I requested a dip manicure which is not that unusual. I guess only certain technicians know how to do it. One technician sanded my nails and then I had to soak them in the solution. She left and then I had another technician do the nails. Terrible manicure. First of all the seats were packed together. There was maybe 14 inches between clients. I guess they never heard of covid. Usually when I have a manicure they soak my fingers for a little while in water. That didn't happen today. The technician squired the cuticle solution on the nail and they proceed to push back the cuticles and they she cut them. I received a dip manicure and the technician didn't even wipe down the white residue so I have white residue by my cuticles. After she put the top coat on she told me to wait for 10 minutes for them to dry and she left. I waited the 10 minutes and saw her eating lunch in the back room. Very unprofessional. The place is like an assembly line. Get them in. Get them out. It really is my own fault for going here. I have a great place I go to in Skokie where they are professional and super clean. read more

Every time I've been here I've had a bad experience. The staff is always rude. One time I went with my sister when it opened and all of the staff was in a circle talking. My sister and I didnt want to interrupt them so we waited. One of the members rolled her eyes at us and told us "to get moving and pick a color" Another time I called to make an appointment and the receptionist seemed bothered just having to answer the phone and do her job. My last time was again with the receptionist. I called to make an appointment to have a girls day with my siblings and mom. The receptionist again gave horrible attitude and seemed like she didnt even want to work. So I decided enough was enough. I found another, much BETTER, lee nails so I decided to call this receptionist back to cancel my appointment. Once I said "hello I called earlier about my appointment at said time-" and before I could FINISH she had the nerve to hang up the phone on me. And when I called she answered "what!" With attitude. I love the fact that they place a plastic bag around the pedicure bowl to keep it sanitary. I dislike the fact that they do not clean the cap they place over the bag. It is disgustingly filthy!! Pedicures here are typically good. Regular manicures are ok. Do not get full sets. Last time I did, Windy was my manicurist, she did not understand English and did not give me what I requested. The polish job was awful. I ended up taking it off and redoing it myself at home. Waste of money! Bring your own polish. I've found the polishes here are old and take forever to dry because they're so thick. read more

I visited on a weekday afternoon and was ushered in and quickly seated. After soaking my feet for fifteen minutes, I asked how much longer it would be. I went to their new location which is maybe 5 minutes from here. It's next to the Dominick's on Nagle and Devon (across from super dog) I like this place convenient, well priced, clean, jet free pedicures which is great because it's easier to sanitize (and i vow to try them one day), and I've never felt rushed or that the people are rude. $15 for a manicure is fantastic in my eyes (there are other places in the area that charge $10 but believe me it's worth the extra $5) They always do a nice clean job, the massage is fantastic, and a nice hot towel feels amazing and super soothing. My manicures have ALWAYS lasted about a week which is amazing because my job requires a lot of cleaning and washing of my hands. If you want a nice manicure and don't want to pay the over priced spas in the city give em a try.. but please stay away from Rose Nails down the street!! read more

WARNING: DO NOT LET THEM NEAR YOUR EYEBROWS. Do I have your attention? Good. I've frequented this establishment over the past 6 months because they offer a very affordable no-chip manicure. Professionally, I can't go to meetings with chipped nail polish and raggedy nails. Personally, I can't afford a $55 manicure every two weeks, so Lee Nail Salon is my affordable solution at $35 per no-chip mani. It's all about that life-work balance, right? Well, I normally go elsewhere for my browscaping needs, but on my last visit I was in desperate need of some grooming but not enough time to make two stops. The nail tech, who didn't say more than two words to me during my manicure other than to ask me about my brows, was very pushy in suggesting a wax. Geez lady, I get it, my brows were a little out of control. So I agreed. BIG. MISTAKE. I've never seen anyone apply the wax to the muslin strips INSTEAD OF the brow area, THEN pressing the wax laden strip on the brow area. But this woman did. And she massacred my eyebrows. Apparently she didn't understand "just clean up" - she took it to mean "remove almost entire brows." I think it was a trick - remove most of my brows, ruin the shape of the arches then I'd have to come back and get them tattooed on. NOT HAPPENIN' SISTER. Even if I were going to get tattoo makeup, Lee Nail Salon is the last place on earth I would go. I deal with their impossibly small assortment of no-chip colors, but this last experience has me thinking of ways to scrounge up the extra $20 every two weeks so I can go back to Cici Nails. I've been going here for over 10 years and have always gotten the best no-chip in the Chicagoland area which causes me to always return even though I have moved further away, however I had a completely different experience on my last visit. I got a no-chip manicure 2 weeks before and had my nail technician remove the old polish then got a no-chip manicure. This was a week ago. Within 2 days I had 4 nails chip and now a week in all but 1 have chipped. I also have gotten hang nails on 4 of my nails. I did not pick at my nails or anything out of the ordinary. I was extremely disappointed in this experience and hope that this was a fluke but I am flabbergasted that I paid $40 for a no-chip that lasted 2 days and caused my nails to tear and have had painful hang nails less than a week after my manicure. read more

Popped in at noon on a Sunday with some time to kill, hoping they'd be able to squeeze me in for a mani-pedi. Happily, they had time for me right away and I sat down in the (massage) pedicure chair immediately. While the chairs themselves were nice, the foot basins looked a little old and dingy. Pedicure was decent. I don't know the girl's name, but she was pretty rough on my cuticles (which still hurt a few days later) but otherwise did a really nice job. It was actually a more thorough process than I expected, given the price. Manicure was also decent. I don't like the chairs they have - I'm pretty short and climbing up and down from those chairs is not exactly easy when you've just had your nails done. Plus, my feet didn't reach the little place to dry your toes while you have your nails done. Oh well, maybe it works for other people. The manicure has actually lasted pretty well. She did try to up-sell me on the no-chip, but didn't push it when I declined. My biggest complaint is that when she was taking off the toe separators, she (badly) smudged one of my toe nails and then REFUSED to redo that toe. Who does that?? Especially when it is HER FAULT!! So now I have a smudged toe nail and am unlikely to go back, even though the rest of my experience was perfectly fine. read more

Been here a few times now. I always call ahead or make an appointment to avoid any wait. The pedicures are really nice here and they have a really wide variety of dip powder for nails. They even offer the paraffin treatments for the pedicures so my feet are butter soft afterwards. I like that they put a disposable liner in the pedicure basin every time and they also use single use files/buffs/emery boards. A little pricy but worth it for the pampering. Knocked one star because they don't allow you to add gratuity to the bill if you pay with card, even before the transaction. Bring cash for tip. read more
