I'm hesitant to leave a bad review because the mani and pedi experiences here have been pretty good but the damage that's been done to my nail bed is horrible. I've had a series of back-to-back gel pedicures for the past 4-5 months which have caused severe damage to my nail bed. My toe nails are peeling, thin, breaking, and discolored. None of the technicians at Encore warned me about the worsening condition of my nails and I also had not realized that the technique they use - grinding the gel polish off - was causing the majority of the damage. So sad that it will take months before my nails are back to normal... read more

Encore lost a customer. After coming here almost every couple weeks for nails, pedis and waxing this past week finally made me say never again. It was usually such a warm and welcoming vibe. I walked in just to have a mani pedi. I was looking to treat myself after almost an entire month of neglect. I walked in and wasn't greeted. Alright I'll just sign in. The hostess girl, who was wrapping some girls nails, suddenly noticed me when I sat down. Asked me what was I getting done and if I signed in. I said mani, pedi and yes I had. Then one of the nail techs came screaming into the waiting area at the hostess. Suddenly there was so much tension that I sat there for 10 minutes and contemplating just staying. But the relaxing vibe was gone. It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review, guess I'll just find another nail place close by. read more

I went it to get my dip nails changed to acrylics, I know have acrylic base with the WORST polish job ever! My nails literally hurt. My hands are torn up from the guy hitting my fingers with the drill so much! On one nail I have some nail on the side not even covered. Don't let the clean area and professional staff fool you. This place is the worst! As soon as my hands are healed I'm going someplace else and getting this fixed!! read more

First time coming here since I needed a fill and close to home. When I had called the store and made an appointment for this past Wednesday on the 2nd at 5:45 PM A lady had picked up and I had asked her how much their fill was and she had told me they were about $20 which I found pretty reasonable. When I came for my appointment maybe 14 minutes later a guy had called me back to do my nails and I had asked me what shape I wanted and I said I just wanted them rounded up a little bit and to keep my length. He didn't file the nails well some parts more rounded than other and for my right hand as you can see in those photos he had drilled my nails and went into part of my skin near my cuticles. When we were finished and checked me out the whole thing came out to $35 instead of the $20 that was told to me. Won't be coming back next time for my set rather travel somewhere else to get them done. read more

Called earlier in the day and asked for a 5:45 appointment. The guy said sure and I gave him my info. I hung up and got a text confirmation from booksy for 5:30. I got there at 5:35 and waited 50 minutes for my "appointment". A tech took a girl who came in 15 minutes after me and explained that she had an appointment. After I told her I did too, she ran away to the back and yelled for her client "Victoria" to come follow her. Got a recommendation from a friend to go to Lee's which was the next shopping center over. Called them and they had no wait. Told the guy behind the counter to cancel my appointment and he couldn't be any more insincere in his apology. No point in trying to complain or argue since he didn't seem to care about the competition of the 7 other nail salons within a quarter mile radius and end up with a rushed and awful mani pedi. So man this place is a joke .. I recently went in for a pedicure and manicure and besides being quoted one price for one of the higher priced services and being charged another and then when requested buffing service on nails .. the technician whips out this tiny little piece of buffing material (I'm used to normally a full size buff sponge) she then proceeds to do the pedicure but I can tell she's rushing - going super fast and short cutting for example not drying my feet at all before moving to certain stages and not asking me for any preference choice of pedicure scents but I'm like whatever ?? .. anyway after the wet feet in the paraffin wax bag - placing my still wet feet straight into the hot wax bag I was like damn??? Are you in a rush?? Really?? Ok whatever but when old girl went on to buff my feet with this tiny buff sponge and does a terrible job at it - I had to stop her and say something - she proceeded to try again - doing it real fast stopping and asking me ok is this good? How about now ?? So I of course had to ask her .. why was the buffing so bad and she says it's due to her not having a full size sponge provided!! Then I get up to get the manicure and I'm upcharged for the manicure but before I have it I tell them I'm not going to do it unless they have a proper buffing sponge so of course they go into the traditional Vietnamese speaking for like 3 minutes ( I presume about me and my calling them out on it but who knows) before a new sponge for buffingg was provided anyway I got the buffing for both hands and nails but then they tried to charge me an extra $3 for the sponge presumably which I wasn't having . I tipped and left and bottom line will NEVER go back - I don't remember this place being so bad but I imagine it's due to cheap ownership and management. I'd caution others with how many good mail places there are - certainly not worth $120 I paid with tip bottom line don't go to ENCORE NAILS. read more

I have been getting gel nails for 10 plus years, and I have NEVER had gel nails chip in less than a 24 hours. Not to mention the polish was STREAKY. The lack of attention of the technicians and staff, is far from ideal. I wanted to give this place a chance, as it is so close to my house.. but I would rather drive the extra 10 minutes somewhere better. read more

Beware the upsell. I called an hour before walking in to be quoted a price for a full set of acrylics ($30) for my daughter. I left her there to have them done for her birthday, only to come back to be charged $60. They said it was special and they told her the fee... this is absolutely ridiculous to have double the charge and to take advantage of a young teen. Would never return. read more

I've had previously good experiences here. But this weekend I had an appointment scheduled and halfway through it, my stylist had a walk in. She started doing hers and mine at the same time which made her rush through mine. My nails did not come out anywhere near as good as they normally do. My polish came out sloppy and messy which is very disappointing. As a paying customer I don't think it's fair to have to share my appointment with a walk in. I have been coming to Encore Nail Salon since they opened. I haven't had any issues or bad experiences except for the other day. My friend and I decided to get our nails done together. We were seated together for our pedicure and seaters apart for manicures. I was getting dip done, and in the past when they have done the dip on me they have always added a top layer of clear gel. I have never received that in my life at any other nail salon before, and quite franky, I don't want to go under the UV light. The whole purpose of getting dip is to not go under UV in the first place. I had asked my technician to not do gel as the top coat. He looked at me very confused and spoke Korean to another technician to ask what he should do instead. In the end they messed up the color. I asked for number 72, which was an OPI mauve color and they gave me a bright purple instead, which by no means matched the color on my feat. I had said something and the girl who got the color for me (who wasn't doing my nails) said to me "you asked for number 72. I replied that it wasn't the same color as I saw on the swatch and it's certainly not the same color on my feet. After her and my technician searched for a while they found it. This delayed the process entirely. My friend and I came in at 6:45pm and didn't end up leaving until 8:30, way after the place closing due to their mistake. After the girl who got the wrong color apologized for the inconvenience. However, the rest of my nail experience was completely rushed. I didn't receive the parafin wax at the end (which is supposed to be complimentary with every Gel or SNS service). I instead have rough bubbled nails because they didn't file down the powder enough. My nails look horrible. I don't know if I will be returning after this experience. Which is a shame how one experience can ruin it for a person. read more

In my opinion it was a waste of time and money. The dip nails were $40 dollars and the man did a terrible job. My nails are all shaped different and many of them are uneven and messy. He hit my skin so many times with the tool and it really hurt. When I reacted and said "oh ouch!" And pulled my hand away he responded with "oh so sensitive." I did not appreciate that comment when he was the one who caused the hurt! The place was beautiful inside and my pedicure was fine and it was mostly relaxing. However even with the pedicure he extremely rough with the tools. But I was very unhappy with my nails and I will not be returning. read more

A lot went wrong. I have a very important event Friday and photo being taken to go into a special archives Thursday morning and wanted nails to match my friend. When I made the appointment I specifically said I wanted the dip process (that's what my friend told me he got) and the confirmation showed I was booked for that. When I arrived, they never actually checked me in but just ushered me back. I guess since I am male, they assumed I only wanted a manicure and seemed a little surprised when I showed them a photo of what my friend had. This was my first nail salon experience, so I probably took me a little too long to realize that not only was it not the dip process, but the color was copper and not black (I thought it might dry dark when the first coat was applied). After I spoke up, they didn't fix the issue or start over but instead just painted black over with some gaudy glitter on top. The wrong color bleeds through and the glitter looks kiddy and isn't even. I called the next morning to see if they could do the correct process. They said I would have to pay the entire manicure price and not just the difference and the also said I shouldn't get it done because it might damage my nails. This was probably a one time thing for me, so some damage would be no big deal, but I don't think maying for the manicure twice is fair when this was their mistake. If I do get my nails done again, I'll never go here. read more

I and my daughter tried this salon for the first time. When we walked in, it was dark inside and I thought they may be closed since it was a Friday. A man at the desk bombarded us with ton of questions assuming we were going to get all these services. Kind of pushy. There was only one other customer inside and I should have taken that for a bad sign and left. Jimmy, the owner, did my tips and did a good job because he has many years of experience. Unfortunately my daughter's nail tech who was a man, did a horrible job. He literally injured my daughter's nails and fingers. He cut them so short that they bled. Some fingers he cut straight and some round. They are uneven. Three days later, she is still in pain and the nail polish has already peeled off. It cost us $30 dollars and the worst part is she left the salon crying. We will not be coming back again. Please beware of this place ! read more

Walking in I really enjoyed the aesthetics. I wanted to do a pedi with gel polish. The girl at the desk continued to sit on her bar stool behind the desk and told me which color samples to look at that were gel. I thought I had picked the right ones but apparently the samples I chose were dip powder. I didn't find this out until it was time to put the color on and the lady went to go find it, but had no idea it was dip powder. So, now I'm done and having to go through more samples to find a color similar to the one I had found first. I told her I asked for gel and assumed she brought me the correct gel color samples. They were not. They were regular polish. At this point I don't have time to go through the actual gel polish samples, who knows which one those actually were they were all in the same baskets jumbled together. It was very frustrating. Then when it came time to pay there was no one to take payment. The girl on the bar stool was organizing dip powder because that was more important then someone paying. Honestly, the worst experience I have ever had at any nail salon and I've been to some pretty questionable places before. This place is $hit show and I hope they can pull there act together, but I will never know. read more

My first visit to this salon was nice. However, my second visit was clearly spent with a nail tech who has no desire to work until closing time and liked to talk about the other customers. I walked in at 6:40 (they close at 8 on Sundays) and asked the desk for gel mani and reg pedi. The technician she directed me too started with my nails. My experience is always a pedi first but I did not question. Upon completing my nails at 7:30, she told me she did not have time to do a pedicure because she had a bad day and needed to go home to her kids. Also, she complained about the other clients that walked in at 7-7:15 in regards coming in to close to closing. I will NOT frequent this nail salon again as they are clearly not customer oriented! I have visited another nail salon in the area, and they always tell me it is ok to come in near closing. read more

I have been going to Encore for a while now and sometimes the service is great but every time I have gone in to get my DIP or acrylic nails removed my nails have come out destroyed. A few months ago they filed my acrylic nails so far down without soaking them in remover they were bruised for weeks and i had to completely grow them out because of how damaged they were. I went in to get them removed the other day after having DIP and they were rushed the entire time. He didn't fully remove my DIP nails because he had another customer's scheduled appointment to close to when he took me. I still have a layer of DIP on my nails and asked for a clear simple manicure after just to clean up the cuticles and make them look healthy. He painted over the layer of DIP still left on my nails and charged me $22 for it. I have since tried to take the layer of DIP off my nails but bc of how aggressive he filed them before soaking the nails they're now bruised and painful underneath. Would NOT recommend getting nails removed here. Nails have consistently come out more damaged than when I went in. read more

Have you ever come to a place with great expectations and then left incredibly disappointed? This is what happened to me on 3-8-19 at Encore Nails. They are new and conveniently located next to the Starbucks on 535 and I was really looking forward to coming here for a pedicure because two of my daughters had already been and had great experiences. Naturally I was expecting the same treatment. On the afternoon of 3-8-19 I came with my daughter for a pedicure. She and her friend arrived ahead of me and were already started when I got there. I wanted to sit next to my daughter, as there were 6 open chairs, but they would not let me and talked in his language about my request. I was shoved several chairs down. That sucked, but who cares? I quickly got over that part because it had been a long week and I just wanted to relax and have a good experience. My practitioner was a man. I think he was grabbed from the back, as he acted as if he had never done a pedicure before. He didn't know how to fill the water tank and he didn't know what to do with my feet. He kept watching the other two ladies working next to him. He didn't know which tools to use , he opened a brush and then did not know how to scrub my feet. The other practitioners next to me used several tools on my daughter's feet and my gentleman did not even have them to use! I quickly realized he did not know what he was doing, so I asked him if he could use the same tool on my feet, and he said something in his own language to the other practitioners and then squirted lotion on my legs and without rubbing it in, he wrapped a towel around my legs rubbing the lotion in on the towel and skipping the massage part! It was awful! The massage was what I wanted the most! Because of our afternoon schedule, I had glanced at the clock noticing the from the time I got in my chair to the end of my pedicure was 19 minutes! I was done before my daughter and she was there ahead of me. I feel completely ripped off! When I was leaving, I tried to say something to the man at the front desk but no one speaks good enough English to explain anything. Stay away! To give someone such poor service, is sloppy business. I wish I could get my money back. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Several of my family members had come in and have had a positive experience so my daughters decided we would go get our pedicures together. The man who did my pedicure I don't think has ever done nails in his life. I came in another car so my daughter started before me but mine ended first. This man had to watch the nail girl next to him to see what he was supposed to be doing and since they had already soaked her feet and they were already several steps into the pedicure so with me he jumped right to that step because he didn't know what to do. My feet were not soaked or scrubbed properly. He skipped because he had to catch up with the therapist next to him because he didn't even know how to clean my feet properly or shape of my nails. When it came time to do the massage part of the pedicure he went and put hot towels on my legs and didn't do any massage, and I said something to him at that point asking why he had skip steps and he couldn't speak clearly. He acted like he didn't know what I was talking about but the therapist next to him corrected him because he put an extra coat of polish on my toes. Overall it was the worst pedicure I've ever had and the worst part was I still had to pay for it. And even with the extra polish it shipped several days later and that never happens when I get a pedicure other places. Save your money and go elsewhere. I have been to Encore Nails a few times, each time a completely different experience. They have a great selection for colors & take walk ins. I've noticed that my service is rushed at times leaving me with a 20 min pedicure that could've been better. I've also seen 3 or 4 different technicians in one sitting because they forget they have an appointment coming in & I spend my appointment switching technicians having to explain what I want again & again. I had one nail that was crooked & asked to get it straightened (I get acrylic fillings) & when I asked they nodded their head & then did nothing about it. They charge extra for different nail shape, including when you want your nail shortened from oval & they have to file it to oval. They can come off very pushy about dip/gel to get customers to pay more. They have a paper taped to the wall about complimentary hand massage/paraffin wax treatment for any gel/SNS manicure $17 or more, I've yet to receive either of those & I pay $30+ for manicures. Last time I went, the technician showed me the price I was to pay on a calculator when another technician said something to them & when I was ready to pay they rounded up the price after I was already told how much the services were. There is no consistency here. read more
