Felt compelled to write a wonderful review for Lee Perla after having such an incredible experience there. (Mostly this is about Rick, watch expert, watch enthusiast, watch historian, watch educator.) Background: An old family friend with no relatives gave me his Rolex right before his passing about a decade ago. He absolutely loved watches and clocks and tried to get me interested in them, too. I had the Rolex just sitting in my jewelry box for the last decade and one day felt compelled to get it serviced, bring it back to life and--in essence--allow my friend to live on through his love of this particular watch. I had no idea about appointments at Lee Perla. Didn't care about dressing the part of someone interested in Rolex (had an old hoodie, leggings, and sneakers). I just walked into the store where, after a few moments, I was greeted by Rick who apologized for the wait because he was on the phone with a customer. Right away we sat down and I took out the watch. It was like I was at Rolex University and Professor Rick was giving me an entire watch and history lesson. He pointed to different parts of the watch to explain how he knew the approximate year, that it was serviced probably before my friend passed away, etc. He was so incredibly knowledgeable and kind. His passion for watches was evident. Even after learning I was a teacher, he thanked me for all I do as an educator and said he had such respect and admiration for my profession. Being a teacher means I will probably never buy a Rolex. Just servicing this old watch meant saving for many months. But it didn't matter as I got the same level of service as anyone else. The service itself took about 3 months. When I got the watch back, it looked absolutely immaculate. Cloud 9 experience. Had a great experience with Sima at Lee Perla. Anybody who is shopping for Rolex knows any model is very difficult to get, and that's an understatement. I visited the store in October last year and had a very friendly and professional introduction to the store. They have an incredible Rolex section. We had a nice chat, and I expressed interest in a Datejust 41 on Jubilee, at the time I was looking for a flat bezel. Last Tuesday, I got a pleasantly surprising call from Sima letting me know the version I was looking for was in, but this one has a fluted bezel which I had changed my mind towards after I had visited. She offered to and texted he a photo of the watch. She held it for me for the next day. When I showed up, I didn't have to wait, she brought it right out for me. There was no pressure, she gave me time to try it on and enjoy it while telling me all about it. No sizing was needed, she showed me how the Easylink system worked. I'm really surprised how this place has had its reviews thus far. I have entered this AD more than 4 times and constantly shrugged away. They treat customers based on appearance. I have gotten multiple Rolex sport models and Tudors in the past from really good ADs that I tip 10% of the sale price for good faith. I figured I would give this store a chance and realized this has to be one of the worst dealers you can go to. They go on a customer to customer visual basis. If you do not fit the criteria for engagement, good luck ever getting a single dose of conversation or attention. Being a quantitative thinker, I sent two different older gentlemen with no prior buying "reputation" and all were treated with warming responses and able to receive the watches they were listed for (Rolex Subs and Explorers). If you want to be treated seriously and not artificially judged, don't come to this location. There are plenty of other ADs that would be willing to accept your business. As an avid watch aficionado, owning a Rolex was always on my "must do" list. After reading reviews for the Rolex AD's in northern NJ, I decided that Lee Perla was where I wanted to start a relationship with. I reached out and spoke with Sima last week prior to in store shopping being allowed. She was very informative, enthusiastic, and encouraging for me to pay a visit to explore choices. I went in today and was assisted by Sima. I explained my prefer choices within reason and wanting to avoid going grey. She had me try on an all gold Submariner date and I new that the Sub is the watch for me. She took my information down and suggested other desirable stainless steel models which can be reasonably requested. I left feeling optimistic and excited to get the call sometime soon! Sima was great, I never felt rushed, and she answered all my questions openly and honestly. If you're in the market for a Rolex or other fine jewelry, definitely check them out. P.S. They keep claiming they don't get any watches in, however, I know someone who was able to get a Rolex before me. As an authorized dealer, they should not just give watches to their friends. I hardly ever write reviews, but since my experience was so great, I wanted to leave feedback for anyone else looking for a great Tudor and Rolex authorized dealer in NJ/Bergen County. They have an excellent variety of Tudor models. I was also impressed that they had a couple of Rolex Daytona's in stock, as well as a Yacht master and a few other cool models. Most times, I go to a dealer and the Rolex section is bare bones, with just a date just or two. Love the Daytona, btw, but my wife ain't letting me drop that kind of money on a watch just yet... Anyway, I called to see if they had the watch I wanted (Black Bay blue) before heading over, and they offered to put it aside it for me since I was only about 20 minutes away. Great gesture, and I think they knew I was a serious buyer; I wasn't calling to come try it on and leave. I really respected that they offered and I didn't need to ask. Good stuff. When I got there, Sima (great to deal with btw) had the watch ready for me to try on, they offered coffee and what not, and they just make sure that you're having a smooth, easy experience. Purchase was smooth, and Sima did a great job of going over some of the details and even showed the location of the fabric strap in the case, which was a pleasant surprise (good stuff, Tudor). Was really pleased with the after purchase experience. They don't rush you out the door. Some dealers size your bracelet once and if it's not a great fit they try to ignore it. Sima saw that it still looked a little too loose and had it sized a second time. Once again, I didn't have to ask, they just do the right thing. Great staff, pleasure dealing with them. I admit it. I have a problem... I enjoy the finer things in life and I am willing to pay the price for having those things. My father and I bought watches from the same place for many years but when our favorite salesperson retired we had to find a new place to build the personal relationship needed when you're going to spend thousands on a watch. Based on recommendations by fellow WIS I stopped by to see Rick. I walked in wearing a $50 Seiko, oversized jeans, a hoody and a cap. I wanted to see if I would be treated with respect despite looking like a bum. If you show up at a larger Rolex AD anywhere else looking the way I did that day, you wouldn't get a single watch out of the case. I was given attention, top notch service and I was able to talk watches with a person that enjoys their job as much as I enjoy my hobby. After a few shots of espresso and some wonderful watch talk, I was ready to swipe - Watch was perfectly sized, boxed and presented. A couple of weeks later I returned to have my wife's Rolex sized (Which I had purchased elsewhere) and it was taken care of free of charge. Again, going above and beyond what is expected. They have walked me thru the process in detail regarding models, colors, sizes etc. they have adjusted the size for my wrist, explained certification, warranties etc. They have detailed all the material specifications of the watch that I am purchasing. I couldn't be happier with my experience at Lee Perla. I stopped by on vacation to look at engagement rings. I had done some looking around but didn't see anything I liked. When I stopped in Lee Perla, a sales associate took the time to educate me on stones and bands. I learned about fluorescence and inclusions and what it all meant when it comes to value and beauty. Just went there with my wife to get a Rolex resized. She graciously resized the watch band and then I asked to see 2 gold Rolex watches of 2 different sizes. When she took them out, I preferred the 40mm presidential so I asked about the price. She abruptly responds "lets talk about price when you are ready". Are YOU serious? Do you understand the meaning of customer service? The saddest part is I don't think she realized that the 2 tone gold, diamond bezel Rolex she resized was the watch I bought there, FROM HER a little over 5 months back for $15k. I was always interested in buying the gold Presidential and was thinking of pulling the trigger today. But being that its over $30k I always felt hesitant to do so since I have so many other watches and felt it wasn't truly necessary. Apparently, not only was it not necessary but she profiled me as a customer who was wasting her time because I apparently didn't appear to her as a buyer. Why? Because she didn't see me pull up in a Rolls Royce with a body guard?! Perhaps I didn't have on a AP watch to cross compare the potential of me buying a $30k watch.
