It felt as though assumptions and biases were being made based clothing I was wearing or my perceived financial status or more. During the interaction, the associate made comments around Men's Wearhouse and similar retailers that they are not and that she doesn't like, which came across as dismissive and unnecessary. That said, I personally would not purchase from this store based on my experience with this associate. On a more positive note, I will note that they do offer a wide variety of selections and seem to do quality work. But overall, it's disappointing when quality customer service and professionalism are difficult to find in environments that should feel welcoming and inclusive.

I unfortunately forgot his name but he was working at about 2pm this past Wednesday. He was super observant of my needs even without me saying them out loud. I told him about my general aversion to fancy clothes and he suggested an economic option for me that's still high quality. It was sincerely perfect. The price range for the full suit was about what I'd anticipated but the tailoring was a much better price than I'd expected. I will update this review with a photo when I pick up my suit next week!

Ordered online and immediately received an email advising we'd receive an update when our item is ready for pickup in Scottsdale. Followed by another email confirming our item is being shipped. Super confusing. A day went by and no update on the pickup status. No number to call. Never received a reply back from the email address that's made available for customer inquiries. Had to go to the Arrowhead location to have them call the Scottsdale location and figure out what was going on. When we were able to pick up our purchased item in Scottsdale, no greeting or assistance was given when we walked in despite having little to no customers and several employees working. In addition, no apology for our item being ready but never receiving a notification. There was also a video with the owner going on, making it difficult for us to get to an employee for assistance. I would think with the owner there, the employees would be on top of things. Don't bother replying to this review if it's with the same sad replies you've been giving others.

Sweet! Clay, the owner, was super nice and we chatted the entire time I was looking around the store. He told me that this store has been here for 25 years and that he goes around the world looking for items and buys them up and then has them shipped back to here. Great! The reason the store is called Yucatecan Imports is when he first opened the store, he originally was bringing back hammocks from Yucatan, nice little history there! Each item in the store is marked with price and also where it comes from, so super cool! This is about as fair trade as it can be. Clay has hand painted scrolls from Thailand, Buddha calendars from Nepal, bookmarks from Turkey, earrings from Peru and Mexico, and my favorite, he has a chirango from Ecuador (however, the chirango was made in Bolivia)! I wanted to stay in here all day and look at everything he has as it is super neat all the wares he carries. He doesn't operate an online business, so he's old school, and wants you to come into his store, great! I ended up buying a mini wooden carved elephant from Thailand, this is a gift for my mom as she loves elephants (and so do I) and will send it to her!
