The dress was fashioned from fabrics she recommended, sewn by her partner in Italy, and completed here in Fargo after my daughter's fitting. She took a personal interest in my daughter's dreams and desires. The dress was completed within our budget and within the promised time frame. Always prompt on communication and updates during the process from start to finish, we never worried about anything related to my daughter's gown. To me, as a mother, this was more than a business transaction. Evelina helped me and encouraged me through other matters in the year-long wedding planning process. She offered immeasurable emotional support and guidance to both of us, helping me with ideas throughout the entire wedding planning process and providing valuable advice based on her extensive experience in the wedding industry. She gets to know her brides on a very personal level. In my particular experience, I feel I have gained a new friend, and I genuinely believe she was like a "fairy godmother" to my daughter, helping her wedding dreams come true. They have all been friendly, knowledgeable and eager to assist me. They have an ever changing selection of fabric and notions at expected retail prices for quality quilting supplies and fabric. They have an onsite repair person who does excellent work. They likewise have a great showroom of quality sewing cabinets and sewing machines. They have a great selection of classes as well as open sewing classes for you to learn and get to know local quilters. They even have a fun sewing retreat several times a year. I had made my great nephew a quilted book Pillow that needed one 6" seam r-sewn to restore the handle. Unfortunately I do not travel with my sewing machine. I was hoping that someone at the Quilt Shop could possibly help me repair it (a six inch seam is all) or let me use one of the floor demo machines to sew it. When I asked I was told NO it's against store policy. Needless to say I was horribly disappointed. The clerk said at least I knew my Nephew loved the pillow for the handle to come off. As a quilter that has visited quilt stores all across the country this is one I would not recommend.

This time there were more neutral things, but that made my daughter happy. They sizes were also inclusive, I saw things in 2X and 3X. They also have jewelry and shoes. I found it odd that there were a lot of employees there (at least 5 women) but they were very busy putting mark down stickers on the tags and no one greeted us nor offered us any help which was disappointing.

Kindred People is owned + operated by a mother-daughter duo who pride themselves on quality and supporting local and regional artists. This is easily one of our favorite shops downtown.
