Extremely unprofessional management and poor living conditions…read more Every month my AC stops working multiple times -- they pretend to fix it, but a week later it breaks again. There are ants all over the apartment, and outside you can see rats walking around. The management is rude and completely unhelpful. Instead of solving residents' problems, the manager spends his time harassing the residents who come to pick up packages. I pay full rent, yet I live with broken AC and insects. This is unacceptable and not worth the price. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

My fiance and I had to move to Washington for work and I miss my old apartment everyday because we really fell into a routine and a comfortable spot there. If we ever needed anything Jeff and his team definitely took care of what we needed. When we get ready to go back and if it works out for us we would love to go back and live there again. Its not the fanciest place ever but it was really what we needed for the price range. The neighborhood does not always feel the safest but at least inside the apartment complex I cannot say I ever worried for my safety- if I had to complain about anything it would just be to see more cameras around the property just to be super safe in the area but not because the complex itself needed it.

I'll begin by saying that Woodland Hills is not the easiest place to find an apartment. Are there a lot of options? Yes. Do many of these properties actually emphasize value? Not really. Back in 2020, a 1-bedroom just north of the 101 would cost around $1700 - $2.1k... But now, you're lucky to find a place for less than $2300 and there are issues with pests, safety, nosy neighbors and a small space. So then last June, it's time to find a new apartment. A Facebook ad turned me on to this property and I think to myself, "there is NO way that this 1-bedroom apartment (pushing 800 square feet) is for this price." I ended up giving Glade Apartments a visit on my lunch and the rest is history. Since June of 2024, everything has been smooth sailing. The tenants are diverse and not disruptive; people keep to themselves; people are willing to have your back if you need information; the apartment is spacious and the grounds are kept clean. The only hiccup I have ever had with my dwelling space is when management told me that the apartment might not be ready on time due to a pest issue. Now, full disclaimer, they tried to get me in ASAP since my lease was running out at my old spot. So, this was all a favor from them. Still, I was able to move in on the desired date and have had no problems with pests! The common mosquito might come in, but no little critters worth mentioning in the slightest This brings me to what I really want to shout out as the biggest reason you SHOULD move here: the property manager. His name is Ronny and he's young and ambitious. He's a great listener and aggressive in getting the job done right. My unit is literally right in front of the leasing office, so all eyes are on my unit. I've gone to him for several concerns in the past and he's accomplished the challenges head on and in the best turnaround time possible. If a good turnaround time is not possible, he's careful not to give empty promises and is truthful. 100% I can assure you that on top of the price, which is a GREAT value, I would not have chosen this complex to move to unless I was confident I would be supported by a capable property manager. I totally mean this. In an area that values money and profit, it's hard to find a person with a "mom and pop" / grassroots state of mind. In summary, here are pros and cons of the complex -- Pros: Privacy Price Location (tucked away, yet still on the corner of Topanga / Vanowen) On-site maintenance Property Management Cons: Building was built in the 60s, so no dishwasher Appliances are somewhat dated A/C Unit (vs. Central A/C... totally a 1st world problem thing) Parking Spaces are a bit narrow, but I drive a mid-sized SUV and fit perfectly fine.

She is kind, attentive and gets stuff done. We can email or go down to talk to her in her office and she listens to complaints and suggestions. She takes action with concerns and is always walking the property to ensure everything is clean and looking nice. Really great manager, we are so glad she has taken over and is getting the apartment cleaned up and listening to the tenants.

The unit had a rushed, sloppy paint job -- with paint left on appliances, door handles, and other surfaces. There are also noticeable bumps under the carpet, and the flooring is uneven in certain areas, which feels careless and poorly done. The neighbors often come off rude and confrontational, and there's a constant feeling of being watched or judged. The staff frequently leave multiple notes on your door over small things but don't address the bigger issues happening in the community. They also monitor what you keep on your balcony, acting very bossy and overly strict about what's "allowed," which makes the place feel more like a rule-heavy dorm than a home. There's no real sense of welcome or community here -- just control. As for the amenities, they're poorly managed. People don't pick up after themselves or their kids. Move the pool furniture around making it hard to get a seat of your own. The pool is always crowded, and just recently, there were people drinking beer in it late at night after 10 pm with no enforcement of the rules. Never in my years of renting have I had these problems in my life. I pay rent on time am a quiet tenant who goes to work and comes home looking for peace and relaxation. If you're looking for a peaceful, respectful, and professionally managed place to live, I would suggest looking elsewhere. The place has potential but the the community ruins it.

The carpets were in bad shape to begin with when we moved in, and now they are charging us to replace them (eventhough this normally should be an accepted charge for managing and maintaining an apartment building that has years of use.) They also are claiming that because the apartment was not deep cleaned - absolutely nothing was left in the unit and we fully cleaned the place with some minor scuffs on the wall just from living - that it is beyond normal wear and tear of someone living in an apartment, eventhough there is photo evidence of the opposite. I had never not received a security deposit back, and now have to spend my time taking them to court because they are being the typical, greedy property manager people warn you about. It is also important to note that we moved out 5 months ago, and are just now getting to the legal process due to their complete delays in email responses, and we have only gotten answers after following up, occasionally multiple times. I will acknowledge the building manager Edie was very sweet and generally helpful while we were renting there, and their maitenance team was super responsive. Please think twice before renting with them if you want to see any bit of your security deposit back.

In short, you don't get your security deposit back. Update: After updating my address I got an email from Vert: "we will update your forwarding address and reach out to the accounting team". This is was last June, frankly the continued lack of communication and accountability in handling this matter is deeply disappointing and reflects poorly--if not disgracefully--on the professionalism and work ethic of the management team.
