Chocolate Boston creme donut filled with custard creme.

This local family-owned donut shop has been here for decades. Donuts and croissants are made fresh everyday before the crack of dawn, and some of the fluffiest donuts you can find in Alameda. Stopped in today for a chocolate boston creme and twisted chocolate bar donut. Classic and good choices!

First, they are located in a mall so there's parking, which is important to me. Without a doubt, the Lees make tasty donuts. Service is what really closes the deal. A very nice polite young lady helped me with my large order. I will be back. Thanks!

Lee's Donuts inside Neptune Plaza has probably been here for 30+ years. I used to rent an apartment across the street, and it was a West Alameda favorite already. I have never had a bad experience here. Always a cheerful hello in the morning. Donuts are fresh and delicious! Free parking in plaza lot.

Food here is good. Service is all right. Ambience is chatter and public. Come here when you want your donut fixed.

First timer -- and the service was amazing! Imagine an early weekend morning where it is it's busiest and your girl, Kat, is craving doughnuts She opens her trusty, dandy Yelp app and finds, Lee's Donuts. Kat enters and the place is already filled with laughter between customers and staff members. It seems like a joyous place to come first thing in the morning. She shows them a picture of a side cut view of a chocolate chip doughnut and low and behold she finds the last one from the freshest batch. It was still warm! The staff members continue to joke with her just as if she was a regular. She was told that the owner, Lee is sitting right by the window greeting each customer as they visit his store and he was. I love that this is a small town business, still thriving even during COVID. I would say 5 STARS for the service and quality of dough on the doughnut we tried. The bread was soft and fluffy. Not days old tasting like Hometown Doughnuts in Alameda. This particular type of chocolate chip donut also had a chocolate filling inside plus more chocolate chips at the center! What would make this even more amazing is a Nutella filling!!! What sets this shop above the rest is 100% the quality of customer service given. Please consider giving it a visit

My 1st visit to Lee's Donuts. I went based on prior Yelp reviews. It was a little out of the way from work, and I wouldn't have seen it if I wasn't using Google direction finder. It is situated in a strip mall and partially hidden by the mall's facade. They have a wide variety of Donuts. I also decided to order breakfast for me and my coworker. I ordered the crescent egg and cheese sandwich. I was told the crescent oil hand made fresh every morning. The sandwich was tasty. Next time, I should add bacon or sausage. I also ordered 2 apple fritters. Every was fresh and delicious.

1465 Webster St Alameda, CA 94501…read more I had a fair experience here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. I had a day planned that included cleaning the garage, so I figured a big breakfast would be good. I walked in just before 9am, and the place was empty. A waitress greeted me and told me to sit anywhere. It's actually hard to pick a table when the place is empty. Cape 7 has a fairly large dining room. It used to be a Sizzler Restaurant. Before Cape 7, it was "Shell Shock." Cape 7 never changed the Shell Shock decor, so it has a nautical theme. A pirate stands guard by the restrooms. So I sat at a booth by the window. I sat back and the bench seat was broken. A gentleman raced over and switched the bench seats. Wow, you have to be careful when you sit down at Cape 7. I ordered a Denver Omelette w/ hash browns, a side of Pancakes, and Coffee. It took about 10-min for my food to come. By 9am more customers came in. After my food arrived, I didn't see a waitress or waiter for 20-mins. Then the owner arrived, and a waitress checked on my table every 5 mins. The Denver Omelette was made with 4 eggs. The serving size was pretty large. The two pancakes were a bit dry. I needed more butter and syrup. Instead, I used alot of jams (that were on the table). The food was okay, I might come back for breakfast again. Off street parking lot in back.

Terrible. The service was so slow and it wasn't even busy. The server was really nice…read more The nautical theme really threw me off and didn't give me that good of a vibe. The French toast combo was basic. The sausage links were under cooked, the over medium eggs were more over easy and the French toast took too long. Service was quiet but attentive, which made the whole experience feel effortless. The food was the real star. We started with the Brussels sprouts (light, crispy, and perfectly cooked), calamari (well‑seasoned and not heavy at all), and warm biscuits with whipped honey butter--so good. The clam chowder stole the show for us: poured tableside, rich but not heavy, and full of flavor. For entrées, the seafood pasta was fantastic, the lobster rigatoni was delicious (just wished for a bit more lobster), the ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the lamb--while tasty--could've used a touch more time. Overall, this place is an easy 5 stars. Beautiful atmosphere, great service, and memorable food. I'll definitely be back to try the dishes we couldn't get to.

I was surprised that I didn't have to hold the reservations with a credit card which was nice. We arrived a few minutes early and waited just a few minutes before our table was ready. As soon as we sat down the hostess asked if we needed any waters. Our waiter Jacob also came around right away to see if we wanted to order any drinks, we ordered the old fashioned, the Mai tai special, and margarita. Drinks came back pretty quick which was good. All the drinks tasted pretty good. For starters we ordered the calamari for the table, fruit salad, clam chowder, and a wedge salad. The calamari came out first, it was cooked perfect, had good flavor to it, the Brussel sprouts mixed with it was tasty, and the lemon sauce that came with it was refreshing. The clam chowder was excellent but it was more like a cup than a bowl. The wedge salad was okay, I've never had eggs in my wedge before, and it could use some better bacon bits or whatever it was for the bits of meat. The fruit salad was great. For our entrees we ordered the Ribeye, the Lamb chops, the Pork chop, the New York or Sirloin, and the Duck Breast. The good thing is that all of the entrees came with sides versus a la cart. The entrees came out after a while which wasn't too bad. It seemed like they only had one waiter taking orders for all the tables. Ribeye, Lamb Chops, Pork Chop Sirloin, and the Duck Breast were cooked perfect, med rare, and great flavor on all the meats. The ribeye was a little tough which was weird since it was cooked perfect., so I don't why that was. All the sides (cream spinach, mashed potatoes, corn, brussel sprouts) were very good. For dessert we shared the Strawberry Shortcake and the Churros. Two great desserts, fluffy bread, tasty strawberries, the sauce was perfect, the churros came out hot, nice crunch to them, and the flavor was great. Overall, a great place to have dinner. The restaurant has plenty of seating. We go all around the bay area and I believe prices are pretty high for drinks, soups, salads, and desserts. We didn't have any Italian food but looking at the menu, they could be just a tad high as well. Our waiter Jacob did a great job.

Located on the corner of Central and Webster, 1400 Bar & Grill has been an Alameda West End staple for many years, and we have been customers for over a decade. The owner Yani is a sweetheart, and very much present day-to-day in the restaurant. He knows all the regulars, and welcomes you in with a warm "Hello friends!". This place is great for any meal of the day, and as a late-night spot. When we come for brunch, I'll usually go with the Greek veggie omelette. When in the mood for pizza, their veggie pizza is honestly one of the best ones I've had - loaded with fresh veggies and in a pesto sauce - noms. They have a very nice patio in the back that's perfect to hang out on when the weather is warmer. If you're into sports, this seems to be a popular spot at which to watch 'the game'. Nice, unpretentious, local-friendly Alameda spot. Check it out next time you're in the area.

This is my first time here so I was maybe a bit slower to order and know the menu names and sizes but there was only one pesto chicken thing on the menu and it's in the shape of focaccia bread. I stopped ordering anything else because the gentlemen was so rude. I will now hesitate to visit this place and will never buy anything. if he is the cashier again. You line up first to order, then you sit down. For some reason the cashier did not hear my second order and that made the transaction twice as long. Here's what we ordered: HUEVOS RANCHEROS - $15 2 over easy eggs on fried tortillas, red salsa, beans, potatoes, sour cream. This has got to be the saddest Huevos Rancheros plate I've seen and experienced. Wish the dallop of scour cream was bigger, and overall this dish was just okay. It felt unhappy, but the taste was fine, nothing memorable. BREAKFAST SANDWICH - $8 Egg Cheese, and choice of meat (sausage) and bread (croissant.) Somehow this was serviced on sourdough, and it's not worth having them fix this. It's also not worth $8, it looks and tastes like something I can easily make at home. The place was pretty busy when I arrived, which is always a good sign. I ordered the French toast special, which comes with three pieces of French toast, eggs, and a side of meat. Since I don't eat pork and they didn't have turkey bacon available that day, I ended up getting a piece of chicken with it and a large coffee. The coffee was excellent--a nice big diner-style cup and really good quality. You can tell why people come here regularly just for coffee. The French toast was really good and came topped with strawberries and raspberries, which I wasn't expecting but was a nice touch. The eggs were fresh, and the chicken was flavorful--I added a little Tapatío and it hit the spot. The atmosphere was great too: very clean, welcoming, and the staff were friendly and engaging. The only two small drawbacks for me were: * The portion size felt a little small. I would have loved maybe a couple more pieces of French toast or a slightly bigger portion overall. * There didn't seem to be table-side coffee refills. It looked like if you wanted another cup you had to go back to the counter and order again. Aside from those minor things, the overall experience was very good. I'd give it about a 9 out of 10. I'll definitely be coming back to try other things on the menu--maybe an omelet next time. If you're in Alameda and looking for a good breakfast spot with great coffee, West Cafe is definitely worth checking out.
