This is my favorite donut spot in the Bay Area hands down. The donuts are delicious, They have several good varieties and the chocolate is very rich and satisfying. They are also very cheap, probably the cheapest in the Bay. The service is always great too, very friendly. Oh and they have the best pickles for only $1.50. You can't beat that! read more

I used to come here as a little kid before school with just my brother and after living in every corner of California the past 20 years, this is easily the best donuts in California. The staff here is small but amazing, and if you're a regular, they treat you like a personal friend. Donuts are so overpriced in cool places now, and even some basic local shops but even here, the quality you get for the prices are INCREDIBLE. The chocolate twists are their biggest hit and it's a MONSTER. Only issue is they close early, some donuts are a premium like such, meaning they have a limited amount and come out at a certain time, and that's it. Other problem is they're "cash only" which can make it hassle to go these days for many people who don't carry cash. And they close a tad bit early, which leads to slim pickens early in the day as well. read more

Dick's donuts is the Barry Bonds of donut shops. It's donuts on steroids. Larger gut busting donuts with more cake, more chocolate, more maple, and more apple filling in the bear claw. While other donut shops have shrunk the size of their donut, and Krispy Kreme is overly sugary air, Dick's makes old school donuts. Located in a small shopping area on High street right off of 580. I went by this morning with my daughter and picked up some donuts. Unfortunately, the donuts tasted and smelled off putting. It smelled like chemicals, specifically bug spray. I am 8 months pregnant so my nose does pick up even the slightest scent. Im hoping it wasn't bug spray, but instead old grease. Either way, I don't feel comfortable returning. read more

Didn't look like an Apple Fritter as it reminded me of a large cow patty topped with morning dew. Yuck on the description but I like to describe things relatable to people... Honestly, it is a really good Apple Fritter with apple filling inside, crunchiness on the outside. A bit on the too sweet end but that's where milk, coffee or tea comes into play... now you have a balanced breakfast. JK. Humongous to say the least. Fried flour dough, if fried in fresh oil by someone who knows what they are doing, is a culinary miracle. Because it is no longer flour and water and eggs and leavening and a little salt. The frying transforms pedestrian ingredients into DELIGHT. Come to Dick's Donuts for some miraculous comfort. And, although it is true that they only take cash, the doughnuts are FRESH and delicious. My co-workers agree with me on this. This doughnut shop is in a small strip mall on High Street across from Walgreen's, just as one gets off of 580 coming east. Going west there is that whole "High Street" exit thing happening, but once you get to High Street, turn left on High and go under 580 and voila, there you are, look for the small strip mall on the right. And because this is a little strip mall, usually you can park for free. And there is a taqueria next door. The lady behind the counter was SO NICE. I went in and said "all I have is $20" since it is cash only and I only had a 20 dollar bill in the cash division. And she filled up a BIG PINK BOX with like 10 doughnuts or maybe more, I was in too much of a hurry to count them. So now I am getting crackling sugar glaze everywhere at my desk as I scarf this down and review DICK'S DONUTS. And my co-workers are walking by my office saying "thank you!" I went in because I wanted to have some munchies on hand for later in the day. The lady behind the counter gave a warm welcome and asked what I'd like. It was a small selection of baked goods but TASTY! It was easy to pick- I went for three different types of "old fashioned" doughnuts- original glazed, chocolate and maple. The apple fritter was too tempting to pass up so I got it along with an oversized eclair. I just ate a doughnut along with a good chunk of the apple fritter, which was both HUGE and delicious. Loaded with chunks of apples scattered throughout the dough. They've got some great hot dog combos, too, (not unlike those membership warehouse supermarkets)but I didn't try them. I usually go from 10-2:30 and am not disappointed with the inventory of donuts. Don't understand Yelpers complaining about not having enough donuts. That has never been my experience. 11/5/21 Imagine Bob's from SF (wait what... you don't know?--well, that's inexcusable, but whatever) but without the glass window showcase of their fugly and grotesque looking fat doughnuts in all their glory........... in one of the most ghetto strip malls I've been to, across the street from DEFINITELY, without a doubt, The Most Ghetto Walgreen's I've ever been to. I had 2 items held there at the Fedex OnSite counter, and outside the building was a normal dude, not homeless, totally normally dude, looking totally suspicious glancing around him, peering... as if he was doing something................ oh yeah, he was.... he was helping himself to the free urinal on the building wall. Oh...nm, there isn't one, he's just spraying it like a dog. Our eyes met, and I guess he didn't see me as a threat, and kept spraying on. ......inside...... oh nm, this is a review for the doughnut shop huh? Okay, for another day (just don't hold items there--TRUST ME.) So, I almost walked straight out upon walking in. It wasn't dirty exactly, but it sure wasn't nice. And in front of me were puffy, bulbous doughnuts, that looked like Jabba the Hutt offspring. I couldn't eat those. Just felt if I took a bite, I might explode in some ultra sci-fi way. So f that. I did muster some bravery and ordered a standard glazed yeast doughnut...... Got to me car and bit in........... W T F.
