Bestie dad got for breakfast I'm a doughnut connoisseur I will fantasize about this doughnut will need to get again

a display case full of donuts

Dick's donuts is the Barry Bonds of donut shops. It's donuts on steroids. Larger gut busting donuts with more cake, more chocolate, more maple, and more apple filling in the bear claw. While other donut shops have shrunk the size of their donut, and Krispy Kreme is overly sugary air, Dick's makes old school donuts. Located in a small shopping area on High street right off of 580. Parking is easy. Prices are the going rate. The people that own it seem very nice. Definitely a good spot for donuts.

Went to Dick's Donuts and..... drum roll... didn't get a donut. Instead I got a big a** Apple Fritter! Didn't look like an Apple Fritter as it reminded me of a large cow patty topped with morning dew. Yuck on the description but I like to describe things relatable to people... Honestly, it is a really good Apple Fritter with apple filling inside, crunchiness on the outside. A bit on the too sweet end but that's where milk, coffee or tea comes into play... now you have a balanced breakfast. JK. Humongous to say the least. Parking on MacArthur can be a challenge but easy in the early morning.

The apple fritter was HUGE! I only ate a third of it. Those old fashioned doughnuts were great, too!

Excellent donuts and great service --quick, clean, convenient locale! Also not ridiculously priced like most donut places.

The lady at the counter was super nice and personable. She was easy to talk to and friendly. She asked if we wanted our treats warmed up but since I was taking mine home, she recommended to heat it up for 45 seconds at home. Thank you!! I ordered: * black sesame mochi muffin - nice chew, great sesame flavor, and not too sweet * churro mochi muffin - covered in cinnamon sugar, so good. Great texture as well. * banana bread pudding - looks so ooey and gooey! I took an edge piece because I like the chewy crispy texture. Love to return when I'm back in the area.

[Parking]: Easy and free street parking in this part of the neighborhood. [Atmosphere]: This is a takeout only bakery with limited outdoor chairs. Our party ended up eating baked goods in the car. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items include Black Sesame Mochi Donut, Mochi Waffle, Ube Mochi Donut, Banana Bread Pudding, and Matcha Mochi Donut. *** Ube Mochi Donut ($3.75): Crunchy and chewy texture, but ube was a bit sweeter than I would have liked. Black Sesame Muffin ($4.75): Slightly better than the mochi donut, but black sesame flavor was not distinct enough. *** Overall a solid 3.5 stars for both donut and muffin.

Just an FYI…read moreI'm a vegetarian and I'm in the process of cutting out all animal products, therefore, I'm trying out vegan spots and cook a lot of vegan food. I also ended up taking my sister so she could see what vegan food is about. 1. My sister had the breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was an absolute texture nightmare, the coconut rice was gross and mushy, the tofu was completely bland, the random spicy curry sauce was unblended & completely overpowered everything. Just really one of the worst burritos I've had in my life. She couldn't get past two bites before throwing it out. I also bit it, and I agree with everything my sister said. 2. I got the tempeh reuben sandwich and it was equally bad with bland soggy fries. It was edible and I finished half of the sandwich with a ton of hot sauce but I threw out the other half. I legitimately could not finish it. I think king oyster mushrooms would be a better substitute for the "bacon". 3. The donuts are AMAZING & deserve to stand alone. The lemon one was absolutely incredible. If I would've only purchased the donuts I would've given Donut farm 5 stars. There's a price range from $3.00, $3.50, $4.00, and $4.50. I think they're reasonable prices for how good they were. The only one that was okay was the chocolate coconut. In conclusion, the food needs a lot of work. I know this is a small business, but please taste the food that comes out . The sandwich was $18 and the burrito was $16. I never complain about the prices from small business owners because I love to support but it was expensive for the quality of food I received. The service was also okay, it felt like everyone was stressed lol, I'm not complaining bc I know we all have our days but this was my first time at Donut Farm and I wish my experience would've been more pleasant so I'd be willing to give it another chance.

Tried the char siu and ham combo banh mi ($12) and the shredded pork summer rolls ($7). Everything is vegan. First, the servings are big. And at these prices! And it's not just big but delish. Second, it's good food. Banh mi bread had a crisp crust and a satisfying chew. The fillings were generous, and flavors were well balanced. The pickles had a nice crunch, and the "meaty" parts were savory goodness. Would def get again. The summer rolls come 2 per order; using a bit of lettuce of separate them was a nice touch. Slightly preferred the savory "fish sauce" especially after I soaked the jalapeños in it. The peanut sauce was a little sweet for me so prolly would have enjoyed more with some chili sauce. The shredded pork was a fun, slightly bouncy texture. Also bought a lemongrass beef banh mi but didn't have room, so looking forward ti lunch tomorrow.

Yes, it's all vegan and yes, they've got all your sweet cravings covered. The classics are present of course, simple glazed and sprinkled little numbers that live up to the highest standards of childhood nostalgia, to more inventive flavors like matcha, blueberry, maple "bacon," or cookies and cream. Don't get me started on the apple fritters, which are the size of a dinner plate and loaded with soft, spiced apple chunks. It's hard to restrain yourself from ordering one of everything, especially because they really are cheaper by the dozen. Besides, when was the last time you had a bear claw? Or a maple bar? Or a Boston cream doughnut? Further complicating the final order is the incredibly kind owner, always at the counter, who's liable to throw in a free doughnut hole or two to reward such enthusiasm. Though it's impossible to resist the colorful magnetism of the front display, don't gloss over the other half of the shop's name. Soy-based gelato is made in house with rotating seasonal flavors, offered by the scoop or wedged into an outrageous doughnut sandwich assembly. I can only speak for the eggnog flavor which is of course long gone at this point, but I truly hope it makes an early come back. The flawlessly smooth, creamy texture is better than almost all prepacked options scooped out of a carton, and possibly one of the best in the bay. It may get overshadowed by the deep fried delights, but you won't regret topping off your treats with an extra frozen spoonful... Well, unless you've already eaten your weight in cinnamon twists. Not that I'd know anything about that.

The women working at the counter were so sweet and patiently explained the menu to me as I was picking out my treats. I ended up getting their Okonomiyaki Danish, Banana Milk Milk Bun, and Yuzu Meringue Bun. The danish was probably one of my favorite savory pastries I've ever had! I loved the crispy layers, and the flavors were absolutely on point. The Banana Milk Milk Bun had a great banana milk custard filling that was prominent yet not too overpowering. The bun itself was incredibly soft and had a topping that reminded me of a pineapple bun or a concha, which I loved. The Yuzu Meringue Bun was slightly on the sweeter side, but it was filled with a delicious, tart yuzu creme that paired perfectly with the crispy exterior. Aside from their iconic Okonomiyaki Danish, they rotate their menu with different flavors of milk buns, cream buns, croissants, and other baked goods, so I'd love to come back to try their other items. It's also an Asian-woman-owned business, so I will definitely be recommending this spot to others!

Yuzu Meringue Bun -- Spot on with the cruffin and meringue combination. The yuzu flavor was generous, although it leaned a little too tart for my personal preference. I wished there was more meringue -- perhaps having a layer of meringue in the center would have made it absolutely superb! Brown Butter Mochi Bites -- These were alright, but nothing particularly special. They were missing the signature mochi chewy texture, so they didn't quite feel "mochi" enough to truly be called mochi bites. Sesame Cookie -- Unfortunately, it was too hard and crisp for my liking. Crossubi -- A very unique concept and not bad overall. I just wish the interior wasn't quite as hollow; a little more filling would have elevated it.
