Really cute spot with cozy vibes. There isn't much seating, so it's more of a grab-and-go place. The drawings of their mascot all over the shop add a lot of charm and make it feel personal, like a small business run purely out of love. The food is decent, and it's a place I'd happily come back to and support. Service: Warm and friendly Food/Drinks: Decent bagels and donuts, simple and satisfying Ambiance: Cozy, personal, and full of character 8/10 A charming small business worth supporting with solid grab-and-go food. Rounded up.

Taste wise - they're pretty decent. The quality is there. But the accessibility and convenience, along with pricing, knocked it down a star. The pastrami sandwich had two thin slices of pastrami only. They do add in some lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo and mustard, but for $11.. It's a pretty thin sandwich. I did like that they toast the sandwich though! My egg, sausage, and cheese croissant was good however I wish they had some condiments available to add in. I'm a hot sauce and ketchup girly, so my breakfast sandwich felt a little lacking without. They press TF out of the croissant so it's suuuuuuper thin. I didn't love the texture of that. This was also $10-11. In what world does a single chocolate bar run you $3 now? I do have to say it was delicious. The donut had a soft chew to it that I really enjoyed and the choc icing was pretty good. But still! Mind you, it's metered street parking only. If you can find parking closer to the residential end, it's free but it's slim pickings as it's located on the main street. They don't even have a sign out front, other than a small one on the side walk, so kinda easy to miss. The shop is way small, so I can see it getting a bit crowded. They have a big menu but none of the donuts, bagels, etc are labeled.... So unless you just know what you want, it can be hard to figure out what is what. They do take Apple Pay and CC but I believe there is a $5 or $10 minimum otherwise you'll incur a fee.

The people here are so nice and the bagels were so warm and good! We loved it here! The donuts were also very good!

Parking on a Saturday morning is a travesty, but that's not their fault. Just be prepared. The couple working were adorable and so friendly. I ordered a ham, egg and cheese croissant sandwich, and a bagel with cream cheese. Food came out fairly quickly. There were seats available inside, but it was a beautiful day, so I opted for outdoor seating. Sandwich was pretty basic. I wouldn't knock it, but nothing crazy amazing. Bagel was standard as well. Edges a little burnt but nothing I couldn't handle. I'd come back just because the employees were so friendly.

Alameda bagels and donuts captures the essence and true art of donut making. The owners are husband and wife, fellow Cambodians. They truly know how to make the perfect classic donuts. Nothing fancy here, just amazing tasting donuts, with the perfect touch of class, light, sweet, crispness/crunch especially in an old fashion. They also use Mr. Espresso coffee! Donut wait around! Go support local yall!

I got a plain bagel with cream cheese and a dozen donut holes. Bagel was toasted and it was just enough cream cheese. Donut holes aren't too sweet and tastes great with coffee! They have a lot of other pastries and even sell cream cheese! I want to try their strawberry cream cheese one day but not at the moment since I'm trying to watch out for my diet lol! I didn't get the croissant but they look huge! Bigger than my hand lol It does get warm in the shop but there's some tables outside you can sit and eat at. Staff are nice and friendly!

Customer service is really poor. After ordering an iced coffee, I went back to the counter and asked if they could make it sweet because I like my iced coffee sweet. The gentleman at the counter told me that they don't make it that way and I should've asked him when I placed the ordered. Isn't that his job? I told him I was a new customer and didn't realize they didn't make their iced coffee sweet. I told him, this is the first time I've ever had it unsweetened. Then they started scolding me and debating with me. I politely asked if he could just make it sweeter. The lady behind the counter starts yelling at me and making me feel uncomfortable, I was really caught off guard on how they were towards me. I just left and will NEVER return again. I grew up in Alameda and have always supported local businesses. Never been treated this way. It's obvious, these people need lessons on how to treat customers. Disappointed.

Good bagel shop! Probably the best around this area that I've had so far, but will need to try a few more times to be sure. I walked in at 11am on a Friday and the man behind the register was prompt and kind. They still had a decent selection of bagels and donuts. I ordered a couple bagels toasted with cream cheese. They made them quickly and labeled them (which I greatly appreciate!). The bagels were pretty good and well toasted, there was a good amount of cream cheese plopped on there (which is v important to me I love cream cheese), and they were well cut. Overall, all the fixins for a good local bagel spot. I'll come back and try a few more things before I say FOR SURE that this is my bagel spot.

    Half a dozen donuts; 2 chocolate-raised, 2 maple-raised, and 2 sugar-raised $1.50 each, $10 for 1/2 dozen, or $19 for a dozen

Alameda Bagel and Donuts has been at this same location for as long as i can remember and they've survived the test of time based on all the other businesses that have come and gone on the block. I come here mainly for donuts and bagels and it's been enjoyable every time. The owners are friendly and know how to move the line when there is one. I also have to note that they serve my favorite kind of croissant: That one that has a shiny top and super fluffy/airy. Parking can be tough in the area but if you do find one, youll be able to grab a table and eat inside.

Hey, this place makes good bagel sandwiches! People will say...."you can make those at home!" It won't be the same. You can buy the bagels and all the ingredients, but you can't buy the skill and experience to make that bagel sandwich just right. The other day, I had the Lox Bagel and the Alameda Special w/ Sausage. Both were great. The toasted fresh bagel was both soft and crisp. The fresh ingredients and toppings made for the smooth blending of flavors that created a sandwich that was perfect for a late morning meal. I live in Alameda, and it's great to find a business doing it right.

Bomb.com I loved the croissant sandwiches! I got bacon and cheese for my husband and I got the spinach feta for myself. Amazing. Great customer service. The orange juice is freshly squeezed! Grabbed this on a whim heading to the airport and I'll definitely come back!

Nicely toasted, soft and chewy bagels with fresh eggs and meat...I'm a fan of the breakfast sandwiches from Alameda Bagels & Donuts! I also feel like I write this a lot, so let me elaborate by saying that texture and flavor of the bagel is what stood out the most. Sometimes I find that bagels from other places are too dense, too much like bread, or lacking flavor, but it wasn't the case here and I loved this sandwich compared to a number of other donut or bagels shops I've tried. Another reason is that the bagels were not large, yet they were still pretty filling and I'd hoped they would be for the cost. (But ask me on a super hungry day and I may say one would need to eat 2 lol). So far, I've tried their Sesame, Everything, and Blueberry bagels and all were great. I've also had their croissants, which were ok but not very flaky, so I would say go for the bagels. Customer service was good. There was only one person ahead of me. I was helped quickly and order came out just a few minutes afterwards, so perfect when you're in a rush. Parking wasn't too bad in this area on Park Street.

1465 Webster St Alameda, CA 94501…read more I had a fair experience here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. I had a day planned that included cleaning the garage, so I figured a big breakfast would be good. I walked in just before 9am, and the place was empty. A waitress greeted me and told me to sit anywhere. It's actually hard to pick a table when the place is empty. Cape 7 has a fairly large dining room. It used to be a Sizzler Restaurant. Before Cape 7, it was "Shell Shock." Cape 7 never changed the Shell Shock decor, so it has a nautical theme. A pirate stands guard by the restrooms. So I sat at a booth by the window. I sat back and the bench seat was broken. A gentleman raced over and switched the bench seats. Wow, you have to be careful when you sit down at Cape 7. I ordered a Denver Omelette w/ hash browns, a side of Pancakes, and Coffee. It took about 10-min for my food to come. By 9am more customers came in. After my food arrived, I didn't see a waitress or waiter for 20-mins. Then the owner arrived, and a waitress checked on my table every 5 mins. The Denver Omelette was made with 4 eggs. The serving size was pretty large. The two pancakes were a bit dry. I needed more butter and syrup. Instead, I used alot of jams (that were on the table). The food was okay, I might come back for breakfast again. Off street parking lot in back.

The French toast combo was basic. The sausage links were under cooked, the over medium eggs were more over easy and the French toast took too long. Service was quiet but attentive, which made the whole experience feel effortless. The food was the real star. We started with the Brussels sprouts (light, crispy, and perfectly cooked), calamari (well‑seasoned and not heavy at all), and warm biscuits with whipped honey butter--so good. The clam chowder stole the show for us: poured tableside, rich but not heavy, and full of flavor. For entrées, the seafood pasta was fantastic, the lobster rigatoni was delicious (just wished for a bit more lobster), the ribeye was cooked perfectly, and the lamb--while tasty--could've used a touch more time. Overall, this place is an easy 5 stars. Beautiful atmosphere, great service, and memorable food. I'll definitely be back to try the dishes we couldn't get to.

I was surprised that I didn't have to hold the reservations with a credit card which was nice. We arrived a few minutes early and waited just a few minutes before our table was ready. As soon as we sat down the hostess asked if we needed any waters. Our waiter Jacob also came around right away to see if we wanted to order any drinks, we ordered the old fashioned, the Mai tai special, and margarita. Drinks came back pretty quick which was good. All the drinks tasted pretty good. For starters we ordered the calamari for the table, fruit salad, clam chowder, and a wedge salad. The calamari came out first, it was cooked perfect, had good flavor to it, the Brussel sprouts mixed with it was tasty, and the lemon sauce that came with it was refreshing. The clam chowder was excellent but it was more like a cup than a bowl. The wedge salad was okay, I've never had eggs in my wedge before, and it could use some better bacon bits or whatever it was for the bits of meat. The fruit salad was great. For our entrees we ordered the Ribeye, the Lamb chops, the Pork chop, the New York or Sirloin, and the Duck Breast. The good thing is that all of the entrees came with sides versus a la cart. The entrees came out after a while which wasn't too bad. It seemed like they only had one waiter taking orders for all the tables. Ribeye, Lamb Chops, Pork Chop Sirloin, and the Duck Breast were cooked perfect, med rare, and great flavor on all the meats. The ribeye was a little tough which was weird since it was cooked perfect., so I don't why that was. All the sides (cream spinach, mashed potatoes, corn, brussel sprouts) were very good. For dessert we shared the Strawberry Shortcake and the Churros. Two great desserts, fluffy bread, tasty strawberries, the sauce was perfect, the churros came out hot, nice crunch to them, and the flavor was great. Overall, a great place to have dinner. The restaurant has plenty of seating. We go all around the bay area and I believe prices are pretty high for drinks, soups, salads, and desserts. We didn't have any Italian food but looking at the menu, they could be just a tad high as well. Our waiter Jacob did a great job.

You line up first to order, then you sit down. For some reason the cashier did not hear my second order and that made the transaction twice as long. Here's what we ordered: HUEVOS RANCHEROS - $15 2 over easy eggs on fried tortillas, red salsa, beans, potatoes, sour cream. This has got to be the saddest Huevos Rancheros plate I've seen and experienced. Wish the dallop of scour cream was bigger, and overall this dish was just okay. The place was pretty busy when I arrived, which is always a good sign. I ordered the French toast special, which comes with three pieces of French toast, eggs, and a side of meat. Since I don't eat pork and they didn't have turkey bacon available that day, I ended up getting a piece of chicken with it and a large coffee. The coffee was excellent--a nice big diner-style cup and really good quality. You can tell why people come here regularly just for coffee. The French toast was really good and came topped with strawberries and raspberries, which I wasn't expecting but was a nice touch. The eggs were fresh, and the chicken was flavorful--I added a little Tapatío and it hit the spot. The atmosphere was great too: very clean, welcoming, and the staff were friendly and engaging. The only two small drawbacks for me were: * The portion size felt a little small. I would have loved maybe a couple more pieces of French toast or a slightly bigger portion overall. * There didn't seem to be table-side coffee refills. It looked like if you wanted another cup you had to go back to the counter and order again. Aside from those minor things, the overall experience was very good. I'd give it about a 9 out of 10. I'll definitely be coming back to try other things on the menu--maybe an omelet next time. If you're in Alameda and looking for a good breakfast spot with great coffee, West Cafe is definitely worth checking out.
