Dave from Lee's Lock & Safe is the BEST! Our pivot front door NEVER closed properly - until Dave! I initially called for a lock install but Dave discovered the lock I purchased online wasn't going to fit, so he was kind enough to show me a more solid alternative. He answered all my questions and was so enthusiastic about home safety & all the advancement made in the technology you could tell he loved and knew the industry well. To top it all off, (without me ever mentioning anything about the issue), Dave casually let's me know he re-screwed a few latches & tightened others on the front door so that now it will close all the way...savior!! I had a sticking deadbolt on my front door that I have taken apart and lubricated over the years. It finally seemed like it was finished after 22 years of service. Jon came out and gave me some options and we decided to try his strike plate adjustment first before replacing the whole lock set. He modified the strike plate to relieve the pressure from the deadbolt and lubed the lock set. Everything is working a lot better and I know who I will call when I eventually have to replace the whole lock set. read more

I wouldn't typically review a locksmith, but I had a fantastic experience with Lee's this week. Having recently completed construction on our Encinitas home, it was time to re-key the whole house. I called Lee's and, surprisingly, they were able to send someone out within 1/2 hour, in spite of this not being an emergency situation. The technician, Matt, was awesome. He was polite and friendly (without being obsequious) and really knew his stuff. We had 8 doors and two gates. He set us up with house keys that could also open the gates, plus gate keys that wouldn't open the house (for gardeners and other potential situations). The job was complicated by having two different kinds of locks on our glass doors, but he did the whole job in under two hours. Plus - he adjusted all of the latches (some were a little tight, and a couple others weren't perfectly aligned. Matt said he always likes to leave a door a little better off than when he found it. That's what I call service. After all that, the price was also quite reasonable, with no extra charges. read more

We had a deadbolt installed by Lee's Lock and Safe in 7/2020, for a cost of about $150. On 1/3/2022, our key stuck in the lock and the cylinder came out. I phoned Lee's Lock and Safe and they came out and repaired it for $111. I was disappointed that this lock failed after being installed just a year and a half earlier. We haven't had any previous issues with our locks at this house for 18 years. Now, after a new lock was installed by Lee's Lock and Safe, it broke in after a year and a half. I don't think I should have been charged for the repair. read more

I own a business, and had an unfortunate incident with our old geezer of a cash safe and my key almost ripping completely off in the lock. These guys were able to make a copy of my mangled key, AND took extra time to lubricate the lock so the new key would work in it. I decided to get a new safe for the salon anyway, so they were able to find a much better version of the old one, and for WAY less than I expected it to be. They ordered it and ended up calling me the next day to tell me it was already there. Everyone was friendly, and genuinely interested in helping me. it is difficult to price lock work out. The company really does not have a clear picture what needs to be done until they arrive. The prices were exorbitant. In addition to a $50 charge just to show up, a interior door handle was $50 and another $20 for labor. $70! The $50 was for nothing I do have to say that the person who did the work was timely and very nice but price way too high read more

I have been going to Lee's for several years! Their keys always fit! They are honest, quick, professional and reasonably priced. Two years ago I rekeyed our house in Mexico. I brought all they keys to be duplicated by Lee's including a special padlocklock without a key from Mexico. They duplicated all the keys and they all fit. It it took them a week to find the code for the special lock and made keys for it also for a very reasonable price. They are the best. They are the only lock service trust my security to! read more

Called Lee's to add a deadbolt to two exterior doors. They replaced two keyed door handles with a plain unkeyed handles. No issue with the parts except the $150 per handle charge which seems excessive. $338 of labor in my opinion is just plain thievery for a job that took less than an hour. Called to question the charge and was told that there is a fixed labor charge of $150 per deadbolt? Lesson learned, get it all in writing before you call them for a job. I had a bad experience firing an employee and needed my lock changed asap. John met me at my office at 9:15 pm, after he was getting ready to go to bed, just to take care of the office. One late afternoon my teenage son had dislodged a part in the handle to open our front door. We arrived at Lee's Lock & Safe at closing time with the entire assembly of our front door in hand. Luckily, we caught all of their employees at this place of business before they all departed home. I recently to have our house re-keyed. I've had very good experience in the past with Lee's Lock & Safe, so I called them again. They had a technician to the house within half an hour, he re-keyed all seven locks, made the new keys and tested them on all the doors. He gave a reasonable estimate up front, was very courteous and professional and was finished in about an hour. They are the only company I will ever call for a locksmith or security system!
