Recently, I hired a popular franchise locksmith to change all the locks within my home and it was only after the franchise locksmith drilled unnecessary holes in my nice, expensive front door and sloppily patched it with wall putty, that I realized all locksmiths are not created equal. Not only did the franchise locksmith damage my entrance door, but the locks he changed were not properly done, leaving two door locks so loose the doors became inoperable. This overpriced franchise locksmith not only failed to properly change my locks, but he damaged my front door and broke two of the locks, leaving me in a panic and spiking my blood pressure. Fortunately, Mark Lyons of A1 Lock and Safe quickly relieved my frustration and worry by coming out immediately when I called and fixed the botched work on each door lock. A locksmith that cannot cut a key? A well-deserved review. I brought a rare automotive key that cost me $175 to A-1 Lock and Smith to be cut. I chose a locksmith over a hardware store because I wanted the key to be cut proper. The key was ruined by the front desk girl. I understand people make mistakes so I offered to split the cost of a new key and asked for a refund for the key cutting service. It is a true test of character when something goes wrong and how the situation is handled. A-1 Lock and Smith failed in every regard when it came to resolving this issue. Mark ignored my calls and email. The front desk girl was also useless and unprofessional. I ultimately had to file a claim with my credit card company. Stay away from this place. read more

A-1 Lock and Safe know what they are doing. I had to get a new key for a car and some type of key programming device was needed to make the key work for the car. The tech at A-1 knew right away what to do after I brought the key in. I did some research and bought the key on ebay and I knew that there are different ways to program the key for the car based upon the markings on the key. Without saying a word about the marking on the key, I just mentioned I need to have the key programming for the car and the A-1 tech looked at the key and explained to me that the marking means there is a certain way to program the car. Stellar service at a reasonable price! I freaked out when I locked my car keys in the trunk of my car at Home Depot. With a tired kid and cars racing around like the Indy 500 I briefly contemplated smashing a window and getting on with my night. Then I called the dealership who said before you smash it, call this locksmith. When a dealership passes on the opportunity to make money, well I'm impressed and figured this guy must be good. Good luck getting any auto locksmith help. Auto locksmith only works limited hours and days. In September the Locksmith agreed to look at photos to get an idea of the scope of work. I sent the pictures and details on Sept 11th. I never heard back. I sent another message on Tues. Oct 6th. Locksmith agreed to meet me at the shop today at 1030. Where do I begin? I had a little mishap with a barbell and my car key at the 24 Hour Fitness off Palomar Airport Road today. AAA wanted to charge me an obscene amount of money for them to come out and make me a valet-type key (i.e. no remote, just the key) and I was astounded. I decided to take matters into my own hands.
