I have been going to this pain management for quite some time now. On April 2nd I went in for my…read morenormal appointment and I didn't go back May29th due to someone in the office couldn't get the paperwork right concerning my knee injection. So on May 29th, I went to my appointment at 8:30, my doctor Rebecca Mitchell (IPA) accused me of doing meth. I was blown away because I know I don't do drugs. Rebecca Mitchell was sitting there looking spaced out like she didn't believe me. I left the office went home to settle my nerves. I called up there to file a complaint, but Shay claimed they didn't have anyone like that in the office, but like I told Shay everyone has a boss. So she put me on hold to speak with Supervisor Latrina (if that is how to spell her name). I explain to the supervisor the issue and she claimed she would look into it on Thursday 29th, and call back on Friday or Monday. Today is June 1st, I didn't from her all day. I decided to call at 3:45pm to see if Latrina was available, but Lisa answered the phone stating that Latrina(supervisor) would call me back before they closed today. It is 5:50pm and the office has closed. Let me, say this on the 29th, I went to AnyLab Test and paid out of pocket for a 10-panel drug test, and on June 1st all my test came back negative. This IPA is not to be trusted at all. Be careful when you are dealing with them. I don't know what the motive was behind it, but I don't use drugs. I asked to be retested which Rebecca Mitchell said she could not retest me.

I called to ask if they did a certain procedure (told them that was all I was interested in) and if…read morethey took my specific insurance. They said yes to both. So I made an appointment to discuss getting the procedure done. I came in for my appointment. They said they called me numerous times to cancel my appointment (which they did not! I had proof on my phone. They never called me!). Anyway. They made me another appointment. I came in for that appointment. They charged me my $35 copay just to tell me they don't do that procedure anymore. Waste of time and waste of money! I'm sure they charged my insurance quite a bit too just to tell me their appointment/desk staff lied to me. They at the very least shouldn't have charged me for that bs!!!

Pain Specialists of America is a predatory and shady business. I went in for a trial to see if a…read morenerve block would help with my pain. After that procedure, they wanted to move ahead with the next step of the procedure, but they wouldn't, or couldn't, tell me how much it would cost me for the 2 procedures I'd need. I have a primary PPO, secondary PPO and a tertiary, which, is my wife's policy I'm on. They wanted me to pay $2,400 for the first procedure, out-of-pocket, but couldn't tell me what the out-of-pocket procedure would cost me. If you do the first one, then they have you over a barrel as you have to go back for the second and they'll charge you whatever they want and you're stuck. My PA and medical claims from my GP said it was predatory behavior as I should not be paying much of anything with my three insurance policies. I decided to go elsewhere and canceled my procedure with them. Then, two weeks later I get a bill for $367 for the first trial procedure I had, when they had assured me I would have zero out-of-pocket for that one. I have also spoken to two others that had procedures there and they had a single basic HMO policy and they were charged much less than I was. The other person had no insurance and they paid in payments a total of $3,200. In summary, this business, like many other shady medical practices are taking advantage of people that are paying more for insurance and then hiking the rate up so you end up paying as much as someone with no insurance. These people are predators.
