This helped him get an idea of what I want to do, and he even helped me plan out some meals, recipes that would get me closer to my goal! So, I typically don't like group class formats because I'm not confident that I can keep up with the class and would make a fool of myself but honestly these groups of women are just amazing. So I have been to a few classes just to sample the program and each class was just so inviting and felt like a community. Having friendly faces, while Johnathan WORKS you, is like the best cause you don't feel alone in the struggglee! Alright so each day he has it mapped out for different forms of workouts, so go to one that you are interested in of course but they are all honestly great. Each class starts off with roughly the same general format, warm ups (jumping jacks, light jog around the gym, squats) and then you are divided up into quadrants. You are in each quadrant for some designated time before you move around to other areas. Everything is basically a full body work out, with each quadrant having specific focuses on parts of your body (legs, arms, back, cardio). Fair warning, I work out regularly and there were other ladies that never picked up a dumbell in their adult life. We were BOTH SORE (not to a point of death but a good burn sore). I genuinely felt like each station has enough options (weight levels) so that it is suitable for any fitness level! Which is fantastic!!! Aside from this Johnathan must be a morning person, because he is just full of ENERGY and bounces around to everyone to make sure we are working! Now he doesn't just kindly ask, he shouts and yells BUT he does it in a way that is SUPER SWEET? Like I don't know how he manages that but when my name is called I'm like oh nooo....only to hear him say positive things! Natalie has been my trainer for about a year and a half. It has been a great, transformative and challenging experience. I initially started to see a trainer because I've had knee problems for 20 years!!! Ridiculous - I don't believe I lived that long with it... I was leaning away (read: scared) about knee surgery, my doctor recommended I build muscle and see what happens. So I then connected with Natalie. She's a great trainer - and if you are considering this - I recommend you connect with her. She helped a person like me -- never had a gym practice, never used weights/kettle bells or knew much about working out -- and has helped me develop real comfort, strength and confidence. She constantly keeps training sessions challenging --- with new, fun and hard work outs. Needless to say, I don't have knee problems anymore. (read: very happy) Her approach is to make on-going assessments, talk with you about your goals, and develop a tailored plan that helps you exceed your goals. Natalie's been my trainer for almost a year and she's helped get me into the best shape of my life. What I love about her approach is that she always listens to your goals and then creates a program around your abilities. I wasn't sure about strength training but I knew I wanted to go for workouts that made me stronger. She encouraged me to give heavy lifting a shot by starting with the basics and it's been a life-changing experience ever since. She explains everything she's doing before you get started which really helps me understand the proper form for each movement and how it's working my body. I love that because it connects me to what I'm doing rather than just following by example. Natalie always puts my safety and health first which made me feel confident that she would never push me beyond what was unrealistic or unsafe and that she is genuinely invested in my training. That said, she always keeps me on my toes and I leave each workout feeling accomplished. I've never felt like I've plateaued and she makes it a point to check in on your progress to see where your program can be tweaked. Here are some highlights that distinguish them from competitors: * The essential classes- During the essential classes, you will learn all the basic movements that are built to daily workout. You get a lot of attention (essential classes are usually even smaller than regular sessions) and the instructors will get to know your fitness level to help you adjust later exercises once you are with a regular class. * They really focus on your forms- The instructors never, ever stop teaching you and always demonstrate every exercise and will monitor your movements. They will also help adjust the exercise with your level of fitness. They really push you hard but they also monitor the workout to make sure you never put yourself into a dangerous situation. * Small classes, easy parking. Clean facility and equipment- There are always spaces around the gym and parking is never an issue. You have to sign up before the class and the class is capped at 15 people max. This ensures you will have enough room to work out and you will not be stepping on each other. They clean the equipment for almost every class and the floor is mopped clean several times a day. * Cheaper classes, same effeteness as getting your own personal trainer- The basic membership is 3 times a week and the price is the cheapest/hr for this kind of physical training facilities around the area. Because you are working with a group, so you won't wing and complaint about your exercise and you get better effect than working with a personal trainer. * People are just so nice!! Everyone is just super kind. They don't judge you and they are always encouraging. You will definitely be motivated and look forward to every work out.

Staff seems to be friendly but since I don't work out at this location on a regular basis I can't comment on that. The cycling room is big and I liked the fact that that each row of bikes is in a different level (similar to a theater) which allows whoever is sitting towards the back to have a better view of the instructor. My complaint is that the cycling instructor wasn't very good with 0 enthusiasm. There were no hills, sprints and other standard spinning activities. All the instructor kept a saying was "add 2 gears, remove 2 gears, stand up, sit down". Just multiply this by 20 and that was basically the whole class. My membership allows me to access all LA Fitness locations in NJ and I've been to at least 5 of them to take spinning classes and this was definitely the worst class.
